“I see…” said Orcris, realizing that the girl he was talking to was about as far from sane as a person could get, “Um, listen,” he continued, “Could you let go of me?”
“Why?” asked Rose.
Orcris thought for a moment, then smiled, “So I can get you the Threads of Fate as a present.”
“Ooo, in that case…” said Rose, letting the half elf go.
“Now,* said Orcris, turning to the opposing group, “Please stand down, I’d rather not kill all of you.”
“You think you can do it?” asked Selene, not even trying to hide her amusement as she tightened her grip on her naginata.
“Please, could you let me handle him?” asked Seth.
“Why?” asked Selene.
“I can tell,” replied Seth, “He’s very strong… I don’t get to fight people on his level very often, so please…”
“Do what you want,* commented Selene with a shrug.
“Seth, be careful,” said Aquaregis, *That sword he has with him is a Soul Eater… if he kills you with it, he gets all your strength and skills.”
“I know,” replied Seth, “Don’t worry, I’ll be careful. But, Aquaregis, don’t interfere.” So saying, Seth made his way toward Orcris, drawing his sword.
“Only one of you?” asked Orcris, drawing his own sword, “This will be quick.”
“You should never take your opponents lightly,” Seth chastised him.
“Same for you,” replied Orcris, “Whenever you’re ready, we can begin.”
Seth smiled, and dashed forward. Orcris’ eyes widened, Seth was moving faster than he had anticipated. Still, he was able to quickly parry the Seth’s attack, knocking the boy’s sword to the side. Taking advantage of the opening he had created, Orcris stabbed at Seth’s torso, missing as the boy sidestepped and sent a kick to the half-elf’s ribs. The half elf acted like he was falling from the kick, before simultaneously slashing at Seth’s leg with his sword and pushing himself away.
