And then, that surge of energy that lingered in this air like an omen, smacked the boy. It felt as though a ton of weight fell down upon him, enough to bring him to a standstill. That intrigue that he was gripped with was cast aside, he clenched his teeth as he was pulled into the rip current of this heavy air. He coughed and wheezed, but it felt as though the more air he drew in, the harder it was to push out.

Uriel closed his eyes tightly, dropping to one knee. His struggle wrestled him down to the point of where it looked like he was fighting for his life. "Are you all right?" that familiar voice asked. He opened his eyes quickly once he heard Soter's voice, that hard-hitting feeling suddenly off of his shoulders entirely. It was as if it had never came in the first place.

He stood up onto his feet, rubbing the right side of his head. "Ye-yeah..." he mumbled, unable to call heads or tails upon what exactly had fallen upon him. He rose to his feet, shuffling his eyes all around. Soter continued walking forward, realizing now that Uriel was fine. He followed just behind the messenger, still clenching his head.

At the end of this path, a bright, dazzling light awaited. It was so close that the boy with the arm cloak could taste on the tip of his tongue. Yet, it seemed like it would take a dozen lifetimes just to come anywhere near it. But the more he forgot to pay attention to it, the closer it drew. It was just upon them, close enough that he could reach up and touch it.

He was finally there, enveloped by a static air. A warm, bellowing energy stood there before them. It shined in many colors, blue its primary. This flowing, ominous light stood on top of a crystal pillar. Those crystallized walls coursed with energy, its source was the heart of light before them. The entire crystallized room was embraced by this everlasting light.

Soter then got down to one knee, bowing his head to the seemingly omnipotent force. Uriel gazed down at Soter, still unable to determine what exactly he was meant to do. "My lords," humbly addressed the messenger. "Uriel Sera, as you requested..."

Uriel then quickly spun his head to the light, a drop of sweat rolling down his forehead. "Come, boy..." spoke what seemed like a thousand tongues, voices from all different kinds of people. The voices were both of females and males, all speaking simultaneously.

"First, a question," Uriel asserted, shaking off his disarray. "Who or what are you?"

"Within the light of our creation, the one world that will remain always as the crown of the universe. Our hand open wide, but never to be reached. From the warmth of our love, the coldness of our gifts..." the light answered. "We are the ones who sit upon the belt of the cosmos, watching always."

"The Elder Gods..." mumbled the boy. "All right, now what exactly do you all have to do with me?"

"You, child, are our beloved son," the voices stated. "We have but one last gift to give before our parting..."

"Wait, your "parting"?" Uriel quoted, startled. "Where exactly are you going?"

"At the end of all things, an eternal rest." the voices replied. "This decrepit road that we travel, the trail called 'life.' And as we move, we face many lies and attempts to corrupt us. A heart can walk, but can it run? A heart can crawl, but can it walk? At our backs, the one and only constant truth. We walk on down this pathway knowing that eventually it shall end. We all know that even though you may rush backwards down your path, where you walked before becomes an dead end. It matters not how powerful, how loved, or how immortal you are... Death always waits for you."

A moment went by as Uriel digested the information given to him. The prospect of death was sobering, but it wasn't one that he wasn't unfamiliar with. Such as the truth to all of mankind. That pause between the questions continued for a minute or two, Uriel's turquoise eyes then bolted for the light. "What exactly am I to you?"

"You are our child, Uriel," the light went on to explain. "Our most beloved creation."

"You're joking..." said Uriel in disbelief. "My mother and father died to Balor and his troops!"

"No, that is only what we wanted you to believe," the light stated.

"...What?"

"They were people whom we had altered to believe that you were their son." it elaborated further. "In truth, they were merely people there to raise you as if you were a normal child. Once you were deemed old enough, you were restarted once more."

Uriel had this look of shock written all over his face. He couldn't believe what it was that he was hearing. It was something he was hearing and was able to understand but at the same time, he was lost and confused. ""Restarted"?" Uriel repeated with a shaking but furious tongue. "What the hell does that even mean!? Explain yourselves!"

"Hahaha..." the voice laughed, seemingly amused by Uriel's inability to comprehend the rush of knowledge being forced into his head.

"What's so funny!?" the boy angrily growled.

"Yes... we suppose clarification is in order," the Elder Gods believed, granting the young boy his request. "It started all those years ago: the betrayal of the Solasúians. To keep this world in balance and order, we intervened in their affairs and guided them along their daily lives. But the Solasúians were always foolish creatures, believing that they alone should dictate their fate and their world. They fled this world, and to our grandest creation: Gielinor. There, they disobeyed everything we gave to them in their futile search for independence. Their threat to Gielinor and its inhabitance was too great, that was why we decided to intervene in the fate of Gielinor."

"You're the Elder Gods," said Uriel. "can't you just annihilate them on your own?"

"Our physical bodies have disintegrated into nothingness. We are but spirits manifesting a physical appearance by sheer will alone." they went on to explain. "This is why we decided to create you, child. You are our son, the all-deciding hand of the Elder Gods. The reason for your birth is simple: you must kill the Solasúians."

"What...!?" the boy shouted, being boarding into this wash of knowledge. His face reflected his confusion, the inability to process this information. "I'm not your damn weapon!"

"Didn't you intend on eliminating all of the Solasúians?" the voices questioned once more. "Your hatred for the beings who changed your life in such a terrible matter. They deserve to all die, yes?"

Uriel looked away, gazing down at the hexagon-tiled floor. "Yes... they do." he mumbled somewhat frustratedly.

"That is not your personal feelings, that is merely our will integrated into you." the light told the boy the truth. "You have no say in any matter, child. You were born to carry out a single purpose, nothing more. You have no feelings, no opinions, on anything. You are what we made you to be."

Uriel appeared almost like his very breath was ripped out of his lungs and stolen from him. His eyes widened, his jaw hung low. Soter's head slowly turned upwards, his verdant eyes gazing upon his masters. "Lords, if I may," spoke the usually silent messenger, who was unable to keep himself down during this time. He stood up to his feet, his face bearing an unfamiliar expression: anger.

"What is it?" it returned to the messenger.

"Uriel has experienced things since the last reset that I don't believe you have taken into account." Soter believed truly within his heart. "Happiness, sorrow, anger, fear, pain... He's even grown to care about a person in an almost siblinglike way. He has human emotions, far beyond those that you placed in him. Is that not enough evidence to support that he makes his own decision, be they emotional or during an act of which requires his independent thinking?"

"Hmph... Still, the fact remains. He was only conceived for that single purpose."

Uriel's eyes were then burned with the flames of emotion once more. He glared up at the light, his hands clenched tightly. "I'll decide what that single purpose is," the boy then suddenly stated. "But one thing's for sure, it's not to serve you. And you can keep your gift, I've got all the gifts that I need."

The boy with the arm cloak then turned towards the exit, the way in which he came into this space. He then began to walk away, stepping out of this mystery and harsh world. Soter quickly bowed to his elders, and then made his way to young Uriel. The pathway before the young boy seemed a lot less longer than it did the time before, his mind ablaze with angry thoughts.

At the end of the path, Uriel came into a large room that appeared crumbling. The ceiling had caved in, the decorations that aligned the walls were injured. He appeared to be in a throne room of sorts, he appeared just beside a throne chair. The chair's back was up to the ceiling, which was about thirty feet high. However, it was broken completely in pieces.

Though, the bottom of it was still intact. It looked like the base of someone or something in a robe-like garb. The remains of whatever it was was all over the floor, the young boy was able to make out a little of what it once was. It appeared to be a some kind of man, upon his back were wings. Uriel had determined that it was a statue of sorts, finding the head in the center of the room.

The man wore what looked like a hood upon his head, but he couldn't tell who exactly it was. The face had been all etched out, which seemed to be quite a habit around here. The boy gazed upon the very large room, the giant, box-shaped pillars that stood at each corner of the room. The light from a sun of sorts broken the chains that bound it to be behind those clouds and shined on.

Its meek warmth, its tender and sweet light shined into the throne room in a spotty fashion. It illuminated everything, the glittering of that adamas crystal giving way to a unique scene. The boy was amazed by its beauty, the shine like a million stars twinkling all together in a dark night sky. The strange glowing, yellow drops from the sky that had fallen down upon this earth crawled down the rubble like small golden snakes.

At this moment, Uriel began to think about all that he was told. His face tensed up, his heart growing heavy with fear and anxiety. To be imprisoned in a fate not of your choosing, it was something that he simply couldn't get passed. Soter came through from the dark pathway, to find the boy gazing up into the small piece of heaven he was given.

With his heart thickening more and more with these negative thoughts and emotions, the messenger's green eyes stepped forth. "Uriel," the titan named, taking the boy's attention. Soter then began walking towards him.

The boy then quickly spun backwards, his turquoise eyes stabbing daggers into the titan. "So, I'm just some weapon to you and your 'Elder Gods'?" the boy questioned with fury, then he unveiled his left arm to the messenger. "So, why with all the cryptics? Why give the powers of all of the gods to me?"

"The Elder Gods believed it was less suspicious that way," Soter returned, answering the boy. "To give you divine powers only befitting the Elder Gods would alert one too many to your presence. So, the Elder Gods decided to leave you with powers known to mankind during the prototype stages."

""Prototype stages"?"

"Time and time again, you would live with a family the Elder Gods put you with. This was to ensure that you lived in the safest, most 'human' like environment possible," the messenger explained. "You would live and grow up like any human child would. That was, until the day that you hit a particular age when the "restart" phase would be engaged."

Uriel didn't quite know what to make of what Soter was telling him. The messenger seemed grievous during this explanation, still he would not turn away. "You would disappear before anyone knew, and all those that previously knew you would lose all memory of even acknowledging your existence." Soter went on. "You would then be born again, only with slightly more power than you did in your previous life. You would be raised with a different family who faced a different situation as a way to... test your reactions."

Now he was completely speechless, his mind caught in a loop just like his life. He's been caught in this infinity, this samsara for who knows how long. Soter closed his eyes, then letting out a sigh. "Fourteen years ago, you were placed with a family: a father named Ralvus, a mother named Ellen, and their daughter named Adissa." Soter told Uriel. "They were strong advocators against the Solasúians' rule. Especially so when they lost their daughter to the war. You were placed with this family to see if the purpose you were born for were... instinctive yet."

"So, I guess it was, huh?"

"Indeed," concurred the messenger. "Though the fact that your family was killed was something completely unprecedented. You were to be reset just around your nineteenth birthday, enough time would have passed for the Elder Gods to have recharged their power to commence the restarting process. Because the Elder Gods could not reset you, they entrusted me with your protection while being sure not to give away my presence until the correct time."

"...I see," mumbled Uriel, turning his eyes away.

"Uriel," said the messenger, stepping closer to the boy.

"So, I guess the last name of 'Sera' is just some title for Elder God pawns?" the boy muttered, saddened. "...I was a fool to believe I had a family, or anybody for that matter. Everything and everyone's always fake, just one big lie after another. What's the point of even trying anymore? I'm just a tool, a weapon... nothing more."

Soter's eyes fell down, becoming emotionless but secretly a presence opposite of it welled up inside of him. The boy was able to hear his footsteps echoing all across the room, drawing closer to him. "No," Soter responded, putting the boy's belief to rest. Uriel then felt a warm, kind assurance grasp upon his left shoulder, taking his eyes. The boy appeared surprised as he gazed upon the calm but emotional Soter, who then returned to Uriel a light, gracious smile. "you're my son."

The boy stared up at Soter, who then dropped down to his knees to stare face-to-face with Uriel. "What...?" he gasped softly.

"As the Elder Gods created you, they required a base." the messenger explained. "They took the name, personality, even the very appearance of my son when I lived. So, in essence... you are my son."

This would confirm that strange trust, that strange comfort that Uriel always felt when he was around Soter. The boy's lips quivered, his eyes began to fill with water. All that had fallen on top of him this day then just crashed down, he had begun to cry. Uriel thought deeply within in his heart that something like this just had to be true. It just had to be.

The boy quickly threw his arms around the messenger, surrounding the usually stern and cold man in a loving embrace. Soter didn't know how to react, this strange and unfamiliar haunted him. This love that he suddenly felt, something he had lost for a very long time. But now, what was lost was found again; this misplaced old heart he never thought he'd need again.

Soter very slowly wrapped his arms around the boy. He would pause, hesitating with each inch of motion. But sooner or later, his arms embraced Uriel. His eyes too were quite emotional, tearing up just as Uriel's. The simple, gentle love of a father was watched by the sun, who decided to take a peek. Its inviting shine radiated down upon the two.

As the situation in the other world changed like at the coming of seasons, like the coming of people, Lumbridge still remained the same. The sound of people taking their lives into their own hands was all that was heard. And the young dark-robed Daevarro stuck in the middle of this. All around him, the buildings in need to repair.

The humans buzzing around like busy bees, a top their shoulders the bones to reconstruct this broken body. Daevarro walked the streets, catching a good glimpse of the devastation brought down upon this world. Though their faces remained saddened, a glint of hope was as familiar to them as the sound of their hearts beating in their chests.

"There you are," said a voice from behind the dark-robed young man. He turned around to face the sound, seeing that blue-coated archer from before. Daevarro seemed interested, curious as to what she had to say to him. "You'll be sworn in tomorrow."

A light smile grew on the young man's face, quickly bowing to Elena. "Thank you so much, (co) ma'am!" he exclaimed, happy to hear the news.

Elena smiled back at him, she shook her head confidently. "Any time," responded Elena, her face then became all low and serious. "...Hey, if you need someone to talk to, I'm here, okay?"

"That's... that's nice of you, thank you," the pale-skinned young man replied. "Um... I have a question, if you don't mind."

"Of course, what is it?"

"Who are the Desert Assassins?" he asked.

"Assassins for hire, mostly," she answered. "But they're also cultists, believing in the goddess known as Lamia. ...You should probably go see Telvern Thaddeus about this, he's usually more for this kind of thing."
