Their heartbeat pounded faster as thoughts ran through their heads faster than anyone could ever imagine. Elena was the first to be ready, she quickly woke everyone up. Everyone gathered themselves and began preparing for what laid ahead. Raphael and all others quickly made their way up to the top of the Lumbridge Castle.

At the very top of the Lumbridge Castle, the group felt the rain hit the tops of their heads. They became soaked and dripping with water. Raphael and his comrade's eyes peered down upon the entire city. And what their eyes capture was nothing short of frightening. The entire Imperial Army stood beside the very walls that surrounded the Lumbridge Castle. Their eyes gazed up at the group that had assembled at the top.

But the massive army was not the thing they took a shock to, who was leading this army was. The king himself was at the front of the army of at least one-hundred. His gorgeous sapphire blue irises gazed up angrily upon the faces of the members of the Lumbridge Resistance. The bodies of those who stood in his way laid lifeless at his feet.

This left everyone in a state of disbelief, their once feelings of joy and achievement swiftly sank like quicksand. What was before them was an army and a leader that could easily bring the resistance to it's end.

EDIT: I've recently come to a decision that I will not continue. I just am not willing to write a story about RuneScape anymore. I don't know but I just cannot gather the willingness to write about it anymore. I really don't think it's my life that's causing the effect on writing on this story (considering I've been writing on a different story and I write perfectly fine.) I think that I lack motivation and lack the urge to do it anymore.
I know this isn't the WRITE (right) way to end it. My problem I guess is that I need a change in setting. I've been writing for almost four years on RuneScape and after five stories, I can say that I have enjoyed it and it's certainly the best thing I've done on this computer and it's definitely one of my better decisions in my life. So, I'll still keep up with bumping and such but don't bother expecting some surprise because there will be none.
I thank you all for your time and your patience. I'm sorry that I've made you wait for nothing but that's just how it goes sometimes. But thank you again and if you need anything, I'll be hanging around.

Yeah, I see that. Though I'm not too sure about writing back on here. xD

Anyway, I'm writing on this again. Once Jagex decides to fix the quotations (unless there's a magical way to fix that) I'll get a chapter up. Probably a good chance that it'll end up like the way it has previously but I'm giving it a shot. After all, I really detest leaving things unfinished. :P

Oh the power of simplicity.

Chapter 9: The Façade

The Imperial Army led by King Balor Pallas Barn laid before the resistance of Lumbridge. It sent shivers of an unimaginable fear up and down the spines of any caught standing against them. Raphael and the others stood at the top of the Castle of Lumbridge, staring down the face of the king of the country they opposed.

Standing to King Balor's right was his right hand man, General Gallows. His sky blue irises gazed up at the young resistance with an intense focus. Before the resistance was a starry sky of glowing eyes staring back at them, a sight that translated to a unbelievable shock and apprehension that shook almost all to their core.

Balor's luminous sapphire blue irises gazed up at each and every face standing above his head. His eyes were a glare, they then finally settled on the face of the leader of his enemy and the one he falsely accused of killing King Divus. Laying before the feet of the king was a lifeless corpse of a knight, his throat slashed as his blood disappeared into the ground.

The purging rain dissipated anything that would dare infect the land, cleaning it entirely. The group just stared at each other for the longest time as the rain fell down on top of them. The melody of the rain was a tranquil sound but it was an anthem before a storm. Raphael returned Balor's favor and kept his eyes on the king. ''What brings you here, Balor?'' questioned Raphael with a shout.

Balor's hands are then pulled behind his back. His hands then fold into each other, his eyes never leaving the human leader for a second. ''My sister,'' he quickly responded in a calm but a somewhat impatient and demanding voice. ''where is she?''

Elena's heart skipped a beat once she heard Balor's question. She tried her best to retain her calm, composed face. Raphael seemed confused and bewildered, he was unable to find an answer to the king's question. ''Didn't she disappear six years ago?'' he questioned, replying back to the king. ''How in Armadyl's name would we know where is she?''

Balor's face became especially angered once Raphael responded to him. His eyes were bleeding with ire, a rancor that could not be stopped. ''Do NOT play games with me, human!'' angrily riposted the king. ''I know that you have taken my dear Lucia from me. Now give her back before I crush you and your pathetic resistance under my boot!''

Raphael raised his hands up to about the height of his mid-abdomen. He failed to piece together the puzzle that Balor laid out in front of him. ''I'm sorry,'' he apologized. ''I still cannot understand a single thing you're asking me.'' Raphael returned, his words still hanging onto the rope of an unfathomable situation. ''Why would we-?''

Shinon approached Elena from behind, walking towards the young female archer without her awareness. Elena was distracted by the presence of the king and his army, her pale blue irises gazed down upon the king. He was just behind the young archer, his right hand reached out towards the back of Elena's hood.

His hand grabbed onto the leather of her hood, quickly pulling it down to reveal her face to all that may gaze upon it. Elena was shocked by this action, her face and hair then became soaked by the rain that fell down. ''Is this her?'' questioned the master archer to Balor.

All of the Imperial Army gazed up at her face, the humans couldn't see much but the gods could. Their vision could see her perfectly. Gallows gazed upon her face and all of the Loyal Knights of the Royal Family. But especially, his eyes gazed with a hint of glee on his face.

Accepting that it was finally time, Elena gazed back at Balor. Her pale blue irises gazed upon the king's face and into his eyes. The two met eye to eye, time seemed to become as still as a lifeless man. The rain froze in place, the breathing of men ceased and time itself sat still. Nothing else mattered, the two then had a conversation with just their eye contact.

The image of her looking down at Balor flashed memories through his head. Of the beautiful face that Lucia had and the way she smiled. And of the wonderful memories when the two were children. Whether it be playing with blocks or just playing hide-and-seek, it brought a smile to Balor's face. His heart hummed with a symphony of happiness... he had finally found the half that he had been missing for more than six years.

Nobody could believe what they were hearing, they all turned their heads towards the young female archer. Shinon stood behind her, his face wore a mask of apathy. Uriel's eyes told a tale of exactly how he was feeling, he felt as if he couldn't believe the very words his ears were hearing. The possibility of it made him shake with fear.

Balor quickly disappeared from sight just after the world was reborn back into it's regular motion for Elena. She closed her eyes, a feeling unlike anything she had ever felt before filled her body. It wasn't sorrow or anger but it wasn't happiness either. She was nervous to have the others know exactly who she was, she was terrified of what Uriel might think.

But then the uttered name of a voice so familiar confirmed all. ''Lucia...'' the voice called. Elena felt a swirl of all sorts of emotions, she could feel her heart pound with each beat. Her body felt as light as the air she breathed. She turned her pale blue irises towards the sight of the king who had so longed to be reunited with his sister.

All of the Lumbridge Resistance could not believe their eyes. Everyone but the boy with the arm cloak turned their attention to the young king. His arms spanned out as his heart took flight on a journey towards happiness. He began to walk towards the only one he ever loved. His footsteps clanked, his armour chuckled in a laughter of joy.

Balor stopped just before the left side of his sister. His left hand reached out towards Elena's face. His armour cloaked fingers touched the surface of her left cheek. His hand then caressed her cheek. He seemed almost haunted, as if he were staring at a ghost.

''My dear sister...'' spoke Balor. ''I have looked, searched, and waited six long years for you. Divus always told me to forget about you and let you go. But I could never do that - because I knew in my heart that you were still alive. And now, I have found you again...'' Balor's arms wrapped around the archer, his love warmly and kindly surrounded Elena.

His front pressed up against the left side of Elena's body. His eyes closed as he finally experienced what it meant to be whole once more. The feeling of a joy he had been departed from for six whole years returned to him. Elena's pale blue eyes stared at the shocked expression of her brother, Uriel. He simply could not believe what he was seeing.

This could be said about everyone, but him especially. To confirm that all of this was not a madman's illusion, Elena's right arm came around and wrapped its self around Balor, telling them to acknowledge that this was legitimate. Continuing to stare down her brother's breathless expression, her eyes screamed a thousand apologies. But none of them got through to him.

A teardrop rolled down the left cheek of the young female archer, she was filled with morose at the appearance of Uriel. Balor pulled himself away from his sister, his sapphire blue eyes seemed clouded by an emotion he never thought he'd experience. He wore a smile unlike any he had worn before. ''But none of that matters now...!'' stated the king. ''I can finally take you away from this imprisonment and show you the world we always envisioned.''

Elena appeared to be happy, a nervous grin appeared like a mask on her face. But this momentary joy was but a facade, inside she cried. Inside it was whirlpool that sucked her into a pit of despair. While Balor was distracted, Raphael's left hand slowly reached down towards his prized blade. Balor closed his eyes as he took a step back.

Balor turned towards Raphael, latching his hand onto the handle of his crystal sword. He began walking over towards the silver-haired leader, stepping a few feet from Elena. ''You had the gall to kidnap a beautiful young woman and belittled her by forcing her to fight in your ranks.'' Balor said, his tongue lashing out like a sharp knife. ''What a bunch of dastardly barbarians.''

Elena turned towards her brother. ''Brother,'' called Elena. ''they did not force me to do anything. I came and fought at my own accord.''

The king then pulled out his sword, it glittered under the gray clouds. The rain dripped from it's tip, falling down into a puddle beneath the king's boot. ''Oh, you haven't changed at all, my sister.'' he responded, closing his eyes with a smile on his face. ''These plebeians are quite pitiful, aren't they? There is no need to attempt to save them. After all, arresting them would just allow them to prolong their miserable lives. And well... those lives are simply not good enough for our prison cells.''
