Soter closed his eyes, the sun pounded down upon his skin. "Whatever the cost," he said with a strong hint of seriousness in his voice, his feet then began to walk away from Raphael. "You must protect Uriel...even if it costs you everything. He is too important."

Raphael could no longer see Soter, he then ran up the stairs. "Wait, sir!" he yelled, running as fast as he could to reach Soter. He got to the top of the staircase. "Why do you-" His voice froze once he realized that all his eyes were staring at was the long field of sand and heat. Soter was nowhere to be found.

The young man was puzzled, questions then began to raise like a flag in his mind. Why? Why did a man who he just met wish for Raphael to protect Uriel? Just who is this Soter? Raphael could only wonder to himself. Back inside, Elena sat alongside her brother who she almost lost. She sat with her legs bent together and they were pointed to her right.

Uriel's head laid in the center of her lap, he seemed to be sleeping peacefully. He was laying on his right side so his right arm was underneath him. Elena had a smile on her face as her pale blue irises gazed down upon her brother's head. Her left hand was placed on his head while her right hand was by her side.

"How is he?" asked the voice that Elena has become incredibly familiar with. She recognized the voice and knew that she was in the presence of her leader. He was about twenty feet from where she and her brother were. Her face was as bright as the sun, so this was a good sign to Raphael.

She kept her eyes down upon the boy. "He's sleeping peacefully," she answered calmly.

A light smirk grew on Raphael's face, he was so vastly relieved to hear that the boy was going to all right. "Thank Armadyl," he breathed with relief. He was then just a two and a half feet from where Elena and Uriel were. He then sat down, his legs crossed like a pretzel.

"Did you get to speak to that man?" Elena questioned.

"Yes, I did," answered the young leader. "He told me that his name was Soter, Soter the Savior."

Elena quickly pulled her head towards Raphael, her eyes gazed upon her leader's face. For a moment, she thought she heard Raphael wrong. "Soter the Savior...?" she repeated. "As in the legendary Soter the Savior from the God Wars?"

Raphael shook his head. "Yes," he confirmed. "The very same."

Elena had a puzzled look on her face, she couldn't believe that to be possible. "But that can't be..." she mumbled. "Even if he were a god, he wouldn't be able to live for more than two-hundred years. That's the maximum lifespan of a god."

Raphael shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know," Raphael replied with uncertainty. His mind then flipped onto that request he made to Raphael. The very one that he never got an answer to. "He also made a rather odd request to me..."

"What did he want?" she asked.

Raphael's eyes scrolled down onto the sleeping face of Uriel. "He told me to protect Uriel even at the cost of everything," Raphael responded. "He said that Uriel is too important."

Another puzzler to Elena, just why does Soter believe Uriel to be important. She scrolled her eyes down upon the boy's head. "Perhaps this has to do with those marks on his left arm," she mentioned, trying to put the pieces together.

Raphael looked back at Elena with a look on his face was barked with question. "Marks?" he asked quickly.

Elena shook her head. "Yes," she confirmed. "There are these strange marks on his left arm underneath his arm cloak. There are many kinds of cryptic symbols that not even Telvern could answer."

"There is one that I can answer," declared the voice of the young genius. The two looked towards the source of the voice. They saw Telvern, he was sitting down with his back leaning against a stone wall. "Look at the front of his forearm and tell me what you see."

Elena slowly flipped Uriel's arm cloak open, Raphael's purple irises gazed with disbelief. He saw the many different kinds of symbols that looked like scars on his arm. Their eyes locate the symbol on Uriel's left forearm. It looked like a circle that was filled with hexagons. None of the two could place exactly what the symbol was. Raphael's left eyebrow raised. "It looks like a gnomeball..." Raphael thought.

Telvern drew in breath into his lungs. He let it out into a sign. "No, you idiot," he responded. "That would be a symbol representing the Stone of Jas or otherwise known as the Fist of Guthix or the Eye of Saradomin."

Elena seemed rather taken back by this, almost appalled. "The Stone of Jas?" she quoted. "But I thought that thing was just a myth, not actually something that's real."

Telvern shook his head. "No, it is very real," Telvern stated. "However, it's actual location has been lost for decades."

Raphael couldn't quite grip what was going on around him. "So, what are you trying to say, Telvern?" asked Raphael. "Why do you believe that man requested that we protect him?"

Telvern closed his eyes. "It's obvious, isn't it?" the young genius asked. "Uriel must have something to do with the Stone of Jas. If that's true then if he were to die or fall into the wrong hands then surely all things wrong would surface."

Little did those around realize that the boy they speculated of was only pretending to be asleep. He listened as the three discussed what exactly the marks on his arm meant. He himself could only question what exactly was their true purpose.

Chapter 7: Making Friends

Two days have passed since the resistance came to the Desert Assassins' base. The daylight flickered like a dying flame, it's life barely existing. With the darkening sky coming down upon the world, a young king watched from his room as the masses of people he claimed as his subjects walked around the city of Governanti. The night life had sprung to life, bringing to life all the taverns that were jam packed with people.

Balor watched from his usual spot, just in front of the face of the window that stared out to the world. His gorgeous sapphire blue irises stared up towards the darkness of the sky, his face wore no emotion. He stood there with his hands tied behind the cover of his cape, his reflection stared at him from the window.

There were still so many questions that swirled around the king's mind, so many thoughts that maddened Balor. Just as the endless spiral staircase of thoughts almost drove him into insanity, he heard two light taps from behind him. It sounded like it was coming from his door. Balor turned his head towards the space behind him, his glance took a pause upon the door. "Come in, General Gallows," declared Balor, turning his eyes back onto the face of his reflection.

The door slowly pulled open, crying a whimper as it's arm reached into the body of the room. Behind the door was indeed General Gallows, his sky blue glowing irises stared at the back of his master. "Your Majesty," said the general as he walked deeper into the door. He closed the door shut behind him. Gallows fell down onto his knees, his head bowed to the king with respect. "I am afraid that I must report a failure."

Balor closed his eyes, his body relaxed as the disappointment he had assumed was true. "Libitina failed to kill Raphael Béla," he predicted, assuming the words that hid behind Gallows' lips.

"Our scouts confirmed it, my lord," stated Gallows. "They saw him alive and well the day after the scheduled night of his assassination."

Balor turned his body away from the glass window, his feet then began walking towards the table that was at the heart of his room. His hands were still tied behind his back and his sapphire blue eyes were opened with awareness. "I'm not surprised," stated Balor. "Rather amusing how the all powerful and feared leader of the Desert Assassins isn't able to kill a single human."

"But why, my lord," he curiously wondered. "Why wasn't she able to kill that single human when she's done it a thousand times over?"

"That is left to your imagination, Gallows," responded the king, his voice almost seemed like he knew the answer to it. But the truth was left hidden behind the cover of his teeth. Balor sat down in the chair beside the table at the center of his room. He sat straight up with his hands on the face of the table, they held each other.

"My lord, there is something else we need to discuss," said Gallows. "There are two humans that require your judgment."

"Oh?" spoke Balor, his interest somewhat taken by the requirement of his judgment. "What are their crimes?"

"Well, sire," continued Gallows. "One of them appears to be Shinon Isaiah, a world renown archer. He and his sister Maria have been arrested for plotting the assassination of...you, my lord."

"My, how typical," responded the king. "Such fanatics these humans are. They always seem to be looking to kill somebody simply because they're better than you. Well, do what you will with them, Gallows. I have confidence that you'll do the right thing."

"Yes sir," acknowledged with a firm voice. Gallows stood to his feet and was ready to make his way out of the presence of his king.

Balor's eyes beamed down at what was below his head, they gazed upon the table where much procrastination has been spent. "Gallows," he called. "There is something I need for you to do."

Gallows' eyes flipped swiftly back onto his master. "What is it, my lord?" the general questioned with the readiness for anything.

Balor's sight flipped like a switch onto his general. ''You know of our fairytale ancestors,'' said Balor. ''they had something that we lack.''

''Immortality,'' answered Gallows.

''In order for our brothers and sister to live in the world that they can only dream of, I must be their king forever and always. And in order to do that, I must become an immortal being.''

''What do you wish from me, my lord?'' quickly asked Gallows, his readiness holding steady.

''What I require from you, Gallows,'' continued the king. ''is that you find the man known as Soter. The inferior vermin know him as ''Soter the Savior'' for his actions based in their so-called "God Wars.''''

''At once, my lord,'' acknowledging Gallows with confidence. He seemed sure that he could find the man his master wished to find.

''Wait Gallows,'' commanded Balor as he sat calmly in his chair. ''Before you leave, you simply must say hello to our guest.''

Gallows' sky blue irises turned towards his king with confusion but then he sees a strange flicker of light behind Balor. His sight scrolled up towards whatever it was behind the king and he then sees a pair of glowing green irises under a green hood. Soter appeared before the king and his general, his eyes were as sharp as knives. They took aim at the king and only him.

Gallows quickly threw his right hand down upon the handle of his sword. It quickly tightened it's grip upon it. Balor crossed his legs underneath the table as his eyes kept their gaze upon Gallows. ''No need for that,'' stated the king. ''It would be wrong to greet our honored guest with such a boorish show.''

Balor sat up from his chair, his body swirled around. His front now faced the front of his guest, Soter. The hooded man's cold and soulless eyes stared into the eyes of the calm, collected king. Balor smirked with confidence. ''Good evening, Soter,'' spoke Balor. ''Care for a drink upon this lovely night?''

"King Balor Pallas Barn," named Soter without a pause. "The Elder Gods have taken awareness to your actions over the course of your days as king."

"And so they've sent their lapdog to do their bidding," replied Balor with a laughter in his voice. "Ah...but that's right. Those old fools have yet to acknowledge that we are no longer under their jurisdiction. We're not living in their lands so we're no longer under their thumb."

"They have condemned your actions against the humans," said Soter.

"And I should care why?" replied the king.

"I would advise you to relent, King Balor Pallas Barn," suggested the hooded man. "Otherwise, your folly shall become your fall."

"Do you earnestly believe that you threaten me?" he questioned. "I fail to fathom exactly why you would obediently serve them when they have you wearing such a tight collar. If you were to give unto me, I would surely pay you with better respect and care."

"I do not see respect or care on the faces of those that serve you," declared Soter. "I only see sorrow and misery."

"That's because you're looking upon the impuissant beings," stated Balor. "Those scum don't work for me, they work for the kingdom and our entire race."

"Your treatment of humans is deplorable, King Balor Pallas Barn," angrily riposted Soter. "The Elder Gods take disgust at that very treatment. You should be aware of that."

"Honestly, I simply cannot understand you, Soter," responded the king. "If you had any idea on what to do with yourself, you would give yourself unto me. With your immortality in hand, I can create our race's dream utopia...a cloud nine where the Elder Gods' petty laws are no longer a reality and where we can live in complete and utter bliss until the day we die."

"You are delusional," declared Soter. "Such a place is only the figment of a madman's fantasy."

"Believe what you will," said Balor, turning away from the hooded man. He walked towards the table. There was an empty cup of tea and a teakettle in the center of the table, Balor grabbed the teakettle's arm and lifted it up off of the table. The teakettle then began to cry tears of heat down into the bowels of the empty cup once Balor tilted it down.

As he poured his tea into his cup, a curious thought tapped on the door into Balor's mind. A question hanged on the tip of his tongue. "Now, I wonder," thought Balor out loud, his cup was now flooded with tea. "Exactly what would the Elder Gods have me do with the Lumbridge Resistance? I mean surely all of this war and chaos is causing your master to become quite displeased."

"Lord Guthix will allow it to-" said Soter.

Balor lifted his cup up off of the table, it was held up by Balor's left hand. He looked up into the air, his eyes no longer upon the face of Soter. "I think I'll just have them all killed," declared Balor, interrupting Soter. "I mean honestly...why allow the scum to have this false sense of thinking that they actually stand a chance against me?"

A slightly angry look hold of Soter's face. "I would strongly advise agai-" recommended the hooded man, his voice louder than it was before.

"And why not, Soter?" asked Balor, once again interrupting him. "Only every single human who dared raise their arms against me would peri-"

"Enough!" yelled Soter with fury rumbling like a storm in his voice. Balor's eyebrows shot up like rockets into the endless blue. Gallows seemed just as fazed by the outburst as his master. An angry mask was worn tightly on Soter's face. "You have until the end of this month to cease your actions before you and the Imperial Kingdom of Governanti become enemies of the Elder Gods. Now farewell."
