He copied such a terrifying image of the creature in his mind, trying now to quickly focus upon it. Submerged in the utter anarchy of the battle, around him did the bodies of the fallen begin to pile, beneath his feet did the blood of both friend and foe run. He had to ignore the whimpers of fear and agony flowing into his ears, finding another place inside himself.

He lost all realization of his surroundings, lost all sense of reality. In the midst of his intense concentration, two soldiers thought it best to try to take on the boy. They had to pass Raphael, who stood watch over Daevarro while he was focusing.

One of the soldiers engaged Raphael, swinging his axe from his right to his left. He aimed viciously for Raphael's head, craving the head of his enemy. Raphael quickly ducked under the sweeping strike, feeling the axe soar overhead. Hanging low, the silver-haired heir quickly reached for a small sword he had strapped to the back of his waist.

Grasping his right hand around it, he ripped it out from its scabbard. He quickly stepped toward the attacking soldier, rising up simultaneously once he felt the danger pass him by. He grabbed the soldier by his right shoulder, ramming that secondary blade in through the soldier's chest. Raphael let go of the blade, allowing the soldier he stabbed to keep it.

The soldier dropped onto his knees, grasping upon his gruesome injury. Raphael had to quickly turn his attention onto the other soldier, but this one would prove quite evasive. The silver-haired heir took a swing at him, whipping his blade Falcon diagonally across. The soldier disappeared from Raphael's sight, forcing him to look backwards.

And indeed, that was where he would find the soldier. The soldier had his priorities straight, aiming directly for Daevarro. But it was in this instance that a black shroud of fog would devour the place whole, infecting everyone with its dark embrace. Everyone had to adjust to the shadow, ally and enemy.

Those among the black-robed folk too were mystified by this fog, shuffling all around to take in their environment. Shakir was notably frustrated, his skills with a bow rendered useless in this fog. "Grr..." he growled with rancor.

Standing aside his leader, Calvin turned to Libitina. What he found was somewhat surprised, seeing as she had intentionally blinded herself by keeping her eyes closed. He wondered the exact purpose of this, what exactly she was doing. But it wasn't long after that curiosity was born that it ultimately died, finding the glowing eyes of the Solasúians piercing the shadowy veil.

The red-headed archer took notice of this exact detail, smirking arrogantly as he drew an arrow back upon his bow's string. He didn't need to waste those strange green arrows he got from Kereske, swapping them out for his traditional steel arrows. He discharged one arrow from his care, not even caring if one of his allies gets caught in the crossfire.

With the scene now one massive cover-up, the fighting went rather quiet. It was a game of finding someone before they found you, and many would fail at this game. One-by-one was the air filled with the painful moans of those who lost the game, the hideous sound of their deaths broadcast for all to listen in.

The soldier after Daevarro lost him in the blackness, popping open his ears to listen out. He heard the eerie, hollow creak of the Steel Titan, suspecting it nearby. But then his eyes turned forward, and his heart sank into his stomach.

The jarring, golden eyes of a tall being gazed down upon him through the smoke. The soldier froze in fear, beginning to see the details of the creature come into view. The massive titan appeared before him, moving without a sound to be made. Some parts of the titan looked awkward and disfigured, and its head was more round than usual.

"He's a summoner as well!?" the soldier thought in a panic, able to feel the frigid chill crawl upon his spine.

No, he couldn't allow himself to fall. He went beyond the cold sweat running down his body, mustering up his courage. He armed himself, preparing for a fight. But there was no fight to be had, for the strike of a blade would find him first. A blade carving ferociously into the soldier, digging just beside the right side of his neck.

The soldier fell to his knees, his glowing sky blue eyes completely petrified at the sight of this blade in him. It was a deep path of destruction, feeling his blood drip down his neck and onto his knees. He grunted painfully as he felt a swift boot to his back, sending him plummeting to the ground.

His front splashed in a pool accumulating the blood, guts, and bodies of the fallen, being just another faceless victim in this crowd. He cried and moaned as he laid there, writhing in such suffering. Behind him was Raphael, clenching his sword Falcon with both of his hands.

But the soldier's pain would be like a flare in the night sky, signalling to others that an enemy was nearby. That was when Raphael felt the sting of something slicing into him, a blade swinging at the unknown striking him down. He felt it pick at the back of his left knee, cutting straight across it. This blow sent Raphael straight down upon one knee, disabling any strength in his left leg.

He took hold of his left leg, fastening his teeth tightly. He realized that he was in a bad spot, that someone intending death was very close by. It was that Solasúian female who went after Telvern standing behind Raphael, readying her sword for the finishing blow upon him.

But then something else found her, stepping out from out of nowhere. She could hear it coming at her, but its speed was too fast even for her Solasúian backing. It sprung suddenly out from the darkness, an arrow piercing through the lower right side of her abdomen. Her teeth became bare and clasped, her face a grimace as she felt the incredible pain of the arrow wiggle and wedge its way inside her.

She then angrily snapped the shaft of the arrow in half, its wooden snap popping into the air. She groaned to express her agony, tossing aside the broken half of the arrow in sheer frustration. She had to push beyond her limits, overcome and conquer this newly-bestowed pain. But her painful display was heard well throughout the fog-covered plane, and it drew in a member of the crowd.

She appeared weakened, harmed, a wounded prey for a predator. Concealed in the darkness, Daevarro could hear her struggle, and he knew well what her intentions were. He had heard Raphael's painful grunt as he was attacked, feeling the earth shake at the crashing of his body. This presence in him telling him that she was ripe for the picking, he need only reach his hand and grasp it.

The dark-robed youth pulled out his dagger, a blade as frigid as the coldest December night. Its ornate, dark gray body shining even in this near black. But all logic and reason held him back, making him think, contemplate these murderous, blood-thirsty desires of his. His hazel eyes gazed down upon the dagger in hand, reluctant to simply charge in like a fool.

As Telvern's Steel Titan continued a massive path of calamity, its fist quivering the earth, Daevarro released his own out of his control. The oddly-shaped shadow titan unleashed upon the world, tricking everyone into believing it was the real one. It was beneficial to mostly the infiltrators, most Solasúians freezing up at its powering, trembling sight.

And with such paralysis, the Lamians struck. Their blades sinking into their flesh, ending their miserable existences. The combination of Telvern's real titan and Daevarro's fake titan proved an effective means of disposal, but the genius believed more could be done. He wanted to use Daevarro's powers to their full effect, spawning an idea in his mind.

The soldier whom injured Raphael struggled on with her new injury, watching helplessly as Raphael took to a rise. This simple feat quite a challenge, stumbling and nearly faltering as he ascended. She had to find a way to cope with her own problem, finding Raphael making it to his feet. But he was practically standing on one leg, his injured limb quivering with weakness.

He turned around, facing his attacker with sword in hand. He launched his attack, swinging his blade from his upper left to his lower right. The soldier's anticipation was perfect, putting her blade up to meet with his. She quickly deflected his attack, then quickly took advantage of Raphael's weakness. She targeted Raphael's legs, sweeping her leg across his feet.

His left leg immediately collapsed out from under him, and the weight of his sudden fall made his other leg fail as well. He landed hard on his back, being beside the dying soldier he had attacked. His purple eyes looking upwards, seeing the female soldier prepare her attack. But that was when her eyes were ripped away from her, seeing something bright coming from the fog before her.

It was an odd, swirling orb of purple light, taking aim for the soldier. It must be magic, she presumed, not sure what exactly to do against it. It fell down upon her, hitting her and then vanishing. She frantically checked herself, quickly trying to figure out what exactly happened. She felt nothing different, saw nothing different, which made her believe nothing had changed.

But then she saw someone pop out from the fog, seeing Daevarro with his dagger in hand. His legs rushing swiftly and without sound, his eyes feral and wild like a savage animal. Raphael's eyes widened, in somewhat panic as he saw the young man throw himself into the fray in order to save him. "Stop!!" Raphael furiously demanded, trying desperately to stand on his feet.

She was too focused on protecting herself than to worry on the specifics, preparing herself for his arrival. Daevarro then attempted to take a lunge, aiming for the soldier's chest. She disapproved of such an obvious move, finding it easier to read than a child's book. As rapid as the clamp of an alligator's mighty jaw did she punish this incredibly moronic move, going for the execution.

Her blade swiped, slicing across the young man's neck. The image reflecting off of Raphael's absolutely terrified eyes, the blade cleaving a path clean through. But this murder would be but an illusion, a figment of imagination. The headless soul faded away before their very eyes, prompting an immediate response of a thousand questions. The soldier's glowing eyes pushed open, the confidence she held dissipating as horror slowly took its place.

That was when she saw another figure appear out from the fog, and it was the same exact person. He bolted out from the black smoke, his face retaining its deranged, ferocious mask. The soldier then very quickly whipped her right hand back, clenching it into a rock-solid fist as it flung. It smacked Daevarro right in his right cheek, but the moment of contact would see Daevarro vanish once more.

The phantom's death would prove a boiling point for the soldier, unleashing a rage in her. But the wound she suffered at the hands of her enemies would leave her far weaker than before, forcing her hand to grab hold of her injury. Her face contorting gruesomely, feeling this bloody stain upon her chemise growing bigger.

"Face me with honor, summoner!" she then very angrily commanded in her agony, her breathing pushing quickly past her gripped teeth. Her mind so obsessed and warped with the idea of killing the 'summoner', Raphael saw it the opportunity to strike. Now that he had recovered from the blow, he took advantage, launching his right foot towards the broken arrow embedded inside the soldier.

The sole of his boot slammed directly upon the arrowhead still lodged in her, pushing it further inward. The anguish overcame her once again, taking her focus off of Daevarro for just a moment. And that was all that was required, the soldier finding her agony there no longer. Raphael had quickly gotten up to one knee, his sword ripping into her guts.

He then quickly pulled out his blade, readying it for the finishing blow. He swiped it diagonally upon the soldier's trunk, carving a long, deep crevice across. She then began to topple, her life spiraling downwards as she felt the release of her life. Crimson showered down from her wounds, slamming into the ground in a hard, painful thud.

Raphael gazed backwards, uninterested in seeing the life fade for the soldier's eyes. Grateful to Daevarro for saving his life, yet he was unable to locate his savior. The heir slowly rose up to his feet, taking him a moment or two. Daevarro did not stick by him, having become lost in the mists.

This made Raphael quite bitter, his face tensed up. "Dammit," the silver-haired heir growled to himself, deploying all of his energy into finding him. "Where has he gone!? Why does he act alone?"

"It would seem he has strayed beyond the shore," Lamia stated. "He is caught in the undertow, spiraling constantly downward. He drowns now in my wrath, 'till the moment his mind can rise above it."

"I don't understand..." Raphael spoke back to Lamia in all his confusion.

"Nor need you," she returned. "Fret no longer over Daevarro's life, let not your angst and concern lay claim to you. He shan't perish in this place, for I will not allow it. Your sole priority is to serve yourself."

It wasn't exactly like Raphael trusted Lamia, at least not completely. But he found trust in her protecting Daevarro, he knew it deep down in his heart that she would keep him safe.

A soldier came towards Raphael from the shadows, demanding his focus. The soldier came charging in with a sword, swinging to her upper left to her lower right. The young man quickly blocked the attack, catching the blade in his sword's cross-guard. But that was when the heir heard the sound of more footsteps coming his way, a coordinated attack perhaps.

It was quite last second, Raphael pushing his strong leg off to his right as fast and as strongly as possible. This reaction came in the nick of time, but still Raphael would not go unpunished. He was sideswiped by a spearhead, still feeling the impact of the blow he just barely evaded. He already began to feel this injury to the left side of his abdomen, a rather nasty looking flesh wound.

He stumbled off-balanced as a result of his last-second dodge, planting his right hand over his new injury. The two soldiers readied another attack upon Raphael, this time they knew it was going to be for the kill. But the male Solasúian heard a noise from behind, quickly stealing his attention.

He quickly turned around, finding a black-robed woman with eyes closed standing there. He then briskly lunged his spear at the woman, but she danced around his attack. She hopped off her right, feeling the attack sail by her. She tucked his spear under her arm, preventing him from moving it any further.

She then quickly swung her blade down upon the soldier's left arm, slicing down into his forearm. And like a guillotine upon a person's head, her blade chopped cleanly through the soldier's flesh and bone. The severed portion of his arm fluttering up in front of his face, bringing tears to his eyes.

He heard the crash of his spear as it hit the ground, screaming out in pain. Her blade then thrust forward, aiming for the soldier's chest. The steel-bladed sword stabbed through the one of the lungs of the soldier, his face disturbingly aghast.

The female soldier quickly took notice of this happening, eyes widened as a exclamation point of alert lit up in her head. "Jadion!" the soldier cried, breathtaken at the gruesome sight of the blood of her ally dripping down from the tips of the blades

She then began charging at the one responsible for the death of her ally, ferocious and seeking revenge. Behind the attack was the stolid assassin Libitina, keeping her eyes closed to keep others from seeing her through the glow of her eyes. She kept her ears peeled, able to hear the seething rage of her enemy as she tore down the world to get to her.

Libitina quickly launched her right foot forward, slamming it into the sternum of the soldier she just stabbed. The force behind the attack made the soldier stumbled backwards off-balanced, backing into the vengeful soldier. She staggered backwards, dropping down onto one knee as a result. Libitina came flying forward, swinging her sword down for the kill.

In a rushed effort, the Solasúian managed to put up her sword in defense. The two swords collided, but Libitina swiftly drove a knee straight into the female Solasúian's face. The blow was absolutely brutal, and rather quite painful to just watch. One could hear the thunderous, revolting crack of the soldier's skull as the assassin's knee drilled into her face, reduced to nothing more but a jumbled-up jigsaw puzzle.

The soldier then just hit the ground in a hard thud, staring upwards lethargically as her consciousness barely clung on to existence. Libitina quickly stood over top of her, kneeling down at her side. She put her blade down at her side, pulling out a small, thin-bladed dagger. She then injected that dagger into the heart of the crushed soldier, quickly delivering her mercy from the pain that she had long experienced.

The stolid assassin then slowly rose to her feet, gazing down upon the Solasúian's life which began to evaporate from her eyes. Once the darkness had taken over the soldier's eyes, Libitina settled her eyes over upon Raphael. Raphael watched the whole thing unfold, appearing grateful for her intervention.

But still, once she attempted to take his life, now she's here saving it? What was her goal, her aim, her ultimate objective? He didn't quite understand her, an impossible mystery to solve like the perfect murder. Regardless, he did appreciate her assistance. "Thanks," he expressed his gratitude.

Libitina took one step forward, her first step using the leg which delivered that utterly devastating blow, and she just felt a high-voltage shock of pain transmit all throughout her nerves. Her hand dropped down upon that knee that she used like a battering ram, covering over it tightly. This suffering intensified her facial expression, transforming it from dull and lifeless to animated and agonized.

It was a clear example as to why Solasúians deem using their full strength as dangerous, for sometimes their own bodies get damaged in the process. Raphael appeared fazed even despite the growing puzzle in his mind, looking somewhat worried over her well being. "Are you all right?" he asked, concerned.

"...Do not trouble yourself over me," the assassin returned painfully. "There are more important matters to concern ourselves with."

With regret, Raphael had to concur with her statement. Indeed, the battle raging on all around them was far more imperative. The silver-haired heir then sighed, releasing all his frustrations. His purple eyes then scanned the battlefield, peeling open his ears. Even as the minutes of this battle dwindled down, the chaos was still quite intense.
