Gregory headed back to his castle, and prepared to train. He spent 4 months training his necromancy, at which point he could summon a lesser demon with ease, and now he had hundreds of summoned creatures all over his citadel. He made a run-through of his citadel and destroyed them all, then realized this was a perfect opportunity to train his combat. After washing the citadel, began training with his summoned creatures. He could simply summon monsters, then use his powers to destroy them, then summon them again, then destroy them again, over and over until he was satisfied with his skill level. He did all this on the first floor so as not to cover the other floors in filth, and when it was too full of bodies, he simply cast a water spell at it all, causing the blood and gore to wash out.
He did this kind of training for another 8 months, at the end of which he had enough power in himself to summon an army of mithril dragons, cast a large enough shadow spell to enshroud a city, cast a large enough smoke spell to choke an army of tormented demons, cast a large enough blood spell to suck away the blood of an army of men, and freeze an army in one blast.
Lucien himself watched him with alarm, because although he wanted Gregory to become powerful, he never thought Gregory would go to such lengths in training his powers. Lucien realized what a master he had permitted to grow, and regretted his gifts of ancient and necromancy powers.
