Hey guys, I'm posting another chapter now, but I just need to tell you that I will be posting them slower. I am super busy these days irl, and I now only log on to rs like for an hour once a week or something. I don't have much time to play, and even less time to write. I'll try not to abandon your entirely, but I'm afraid I'm getting GuthixGuy syndrome :P

Chapter XXXVI

Six months passed. Gregory’s friends, who had joined him to help in the war to save the world, had been taught extensively by Ron, and were now all proficient in using swords, axes, knives, and spears of all types. They each picked their favorite weapon, and those became the regular weapons used by the students.

Gregory himself had grown so accustomed to using two godswords, that they were all he ever used and he carried them with him almost continually. He had two sheaths, one strapped to his back and one to his belt, which he kept the swords in when he was not using them.

All this time, Lucien had not seen a sign of Gregory, besides a few of his men spotting Gregory in the Grand Exchange periodically. Finally, he decided that Gregory was no longer a threat, and that if he ever came out of hiding, Guthix would come down hard immediately.

For the past four months, Lucien had been summoning an army of tormented demons with the help of the Stone of Jas and the Staff of Armadyl, and by this time he had produced at least 500,000 of them. He did not have much space to store so many, so he sent them to the wilderness volcano to simply roam around until they were needed. In his free time, he went to the volcano and used his remaining energy to enhance the existing demons, as he thought too many more would be hard to control.

As he was standing there, pondering as he worked, he saw in the distance two bright red points of light coming out of the darkness of the volcano. He peered in that direction, and realized that it was another mahjarrat coming toward him, as the two red lights were exactly those of a mahjarrat’s eyes.

Realizing this was potentially dangerous, he prepared himself by charging his staff and summoning some energy within himself, but it was not needed.

“Lucien! I am surprised to see you here. Normally you are down in your fortress brooding over your pathetic plans.”

“Pathetic?!?! Listen here, Zemouregal, I have accomplished more then you may ever hope to!”

“Oh yes? You attacked Varrock and failed because of a HUMAN! You wasted hundreds of thousands of troops on that HUMAN and were defeated! You had your whole spy system wiped out by a HUMAN! You call that accomplishment? You are the first Mahjarat I have ever known to be defeated by a HUMAN at all, let alone three times!”

“Yes, I was defeated many times, but simply because he had an overwhelming advantage each time. At Varrock, he utterly suprised me as I had no idea he was so powerful in the first place. At his citadel, he had the advantage as Saradomin helped him! And he only wiped out my spy system because I wasn’t there to stop him!”

“Excuses! First of all, he did NOT have the advantage at the citadel. You had a larger force then him and I came to help you! What happened? We BOTH got wiped out! And when Saradomin came, Zamorak was there to match him. Don’t you see where I am going with this?*

*What? Are you saying we should join forces with him or something? He is defeating us so much that it may be that it would be useful to stop fighting him.”

“No. We cannot join forces with him, as it seems he has entered the allegiance of Saradomin. He is also too powerful for us to fight, so I think...”

“Yes?”

“We should join forces with another mahjarrat.”

“WHAT?!? We mahjarrat have never been known to work together! How do you expect it to work now?*

*I will put it this way. Lucien, when was the last time you and I spoke together like this, thinking together against a common enemy?”

“... I suppose it was the last time we NEEDED to work together against something more powerful then us... That was a long time ago.”

“Exactly! You and I, Lucien and Zemouregal, have not even spoken very much together for hundreds of years!! But now, when we encounter a common enemy that is very powerful, and potentially dangerous to both of us, we spontaneously start planning together! I think that if we can convince the other mahjarrat that Gregory is potentially dangerous to the survival of the Mahjarrat race, we may just be able to get some more allies.”

“Genius! I always knew you had a brain in that skull of yours Zemouregal! Let us get started. Oh, and if you don’t mind, could you raise another army of zombies?”

***************************************************

“... and this is the plan, we must begin to agitate the lands of Runescape so as to lure Gregory out, and make it possible to destroy him as soon as possible.”

Lucien was sitting at a table in his base, intently explaining the situation to Silske, Hazeel, and General Khazard, with Zemouregal looking on.

“You have not yet explained,” spoke Silske, “WHY we are so concerned about a HUMAN??” Silske began to snicker, and General Khazard also had a rather humorous look on his face, although it is hard to show expression on a skull.

Zemouregal jumped in. “This is why we are worried. I have no doubt that you saw the situation when Lucien attacked Varrock, and when he attacked Gregory’s base?”

“Yes I saw that. Hahahaha, I find you quite pathetic Lucien,” said Hazeel.

“Thank you for your wonderful compliment. I have no doubt you all noticed I have the Staff of Armadyl AND the Stone of Jas?”

The group was silent, although all four of the other mahjarrat did seem puzzled that Lucien could be beaten so easily when he had had the guile and ability to obtain two powerful artifacts such as these.

“Gregory is very powerful, or else he would not have been able to defeat me in such a situation. Zemouregal and I have realized that he has entered the service of Saradomin,” -all shuddered at this- “and we believe that his task is to remove the Mahjarrat from the face of the earth.”

“How do you know this?” asked Khazard.

“Is it not obvious? He deliberately joined MY service, gleaning as much power and advantage as possible, and then he turned against me! Upon attacking me, I noticed that he had been given a massive amount of power, godly power, and so I knew that he must be supported by a god. He has not joined Zamorak I am sure, and as Zaros is not active at this time, I assume he is working under Saradomin. Besides, he has been working for good ever since he betrayed me, so that is more proof. Do you now understand the situation?”

“Lucien,” said Silske, “I do not think this is a grave enough matter to display my cards yet. He seems to be after you and Zemouregal, and although this is dangerous, I do not know if it is a danger to all Mahjarrat. I am not going to take action now, but if he becomes more dangerous I will then make a stand. I will keep an eye on the matter. I shall leave now.”

As Silske teleported away, Hazeel said, “I will help you. I have nothing better to do at the moment, and it does seem like he will be a dangerous opponent for the mahjarrat race.”

Khazard added, “I will help you for the same reason. He seems to be a threat to the tranquility of our peaceful Zamorakian beliefs, and we must counter him.”

“Very well. Thank you for your assistance, and in payment for your help, I will let all three of you use the Stone of Jas when needed. Try not to succumb to the temptation of taking it, as that would not help our cause and besides, I can teleport to it at any time. So just don’t even think about it.”

Oh and btw, I'm starting to play more often so I'll be writing at a greater pace.
