Another week passed, a week in which the group’s trainer, Ron, did not come, but they simply fought in Gregory’s new arena every day. This was even more effective training, because they could train magic and melee at the same time, and they had real enemies to kill, rather then training with a dummy or just bare air as an opponent.
“Good job! I see you guys killed ten tormented demons fairly easily, so let’s try thirty instead!”
As the thirty tormented demons appeared, the group, without a grimace, smile, snicker, or any other emotional remark, quickly and effectively attacked the tormented demons. Their skill had grown to the extent that even more timid fighters like Sarah had lost all fear or apprehension. She ran straight towards a tormented demon, and made a leap, climbing up its arms and straight onto its shoulders. Ignoring the flames coming up from it, she began slashing away at its head, casting water spells into its mouth every time it faced upwards.
Other fighters, like Martin, had another tactic. He charged a two-handed sword with a water spell, and then slashed super hard at the demon’s legs, making it fall down. Then he would place his knee on top of the sword, and put all his weight on it to slice a limb off.
It only took them about forty-five minutes to defeat all thirty demons, with none of them even slightly hurt.
“Well, what do you want to fight now?*
*Gregory, I kind of want to see you fight them yourself. I mean, you always summon them and let us fight. You aren’t doing any work yourself.”
“I’m not doing any work?!?! Do you have any idea how exhausting it is to summon all those creatures and then replenish your health and vitality? I use my own energy to revitalize you after each round.”
“Really? I had no idea. I want to see you fight anyway though.”
“Yeah! Fight for us!” called all the others.
