Chapter 33: The Storm

A depressing, sad feeling was in the air. Anna had just been killed by Cassius. Tears streamed down Roy's cheeks. Dante walks over to Roy and knells down. "Can you heal her?" Dante asked. Roy shook his head side to side. "Guthix told me I can't." he replied, his voice all cracked.

Void looked on and memories of his past flashed back. He growls. After a moment, he ran away. Cassius stared on from the tip-top of the chapel that Void was on. Cassius looks on at the scene, with no expression of his face. After a minute, he disappears. Roy began punching the ground out of anger.

"It's all my fault..." he mumbled to himself as he continued to punch the ground. Roy had punched so hard that his fist began to bleed.

Dante grabbed Roy's wrist before he punched the ground again. "It's not your fault. Now stop beating yourself up for it." Dante stated. "I've been in the same dark corner that you're in right now Roy. But never blame yourself for something you didn't do."

"But..I was unable to protect her...after I promised I would...I'm a failure..."

"You are if you continue to beat yourself up. You think Anna would enjoy watching this?"

Roy stood to his feet. He clenched his hands and let out a sigh. He pick Anna up on his shoulders. And carried her all the way back home, at Camelot. The rest of the entire day, Roy spends it by himself in his room. The next day, Deus, Julie, Velator, Spero, and Dante were planning an attack on Falador.

It was 7:00 AM, and Roy walks into the room with a big smile on his face. "Hey everyone." he greeted.

Dante shook his head side to side. "Roy. Don't try a fake smile." he said.

"Fake smile? Huh? I'm not faking my smile, I swear."

"You just went through a HUGE tragedy. I don't expect to see someone who did to start smiling so quickly."

Roy crossed his arms. "Well, you guess. You. Really. Don't. Know. Me."

"Roy..stopping trying to act happy. Truly the person who smiles is really the person who truly suffers." Deus said.

"What? I'm not faking it. I just believe that being sad and depressed isn't something she would want."

Dante looks back down upon the map of Falador on the table. "We need to attack tonight." he said.

"Why tonight?" asked Velator.

"I'm quite sure Spero is feeling this as well." Dante folds his hands. "There is an increasingly strong force of unbalance coming from the Falador castle."

After a few minutes, they began to get ready. Roy equipped himself with armour. But his mind was completely on the thought of Anna. He grabbed the Sword of the Shining Rays and headed out. He met up with the group, Deus had a portal open. "Remember everyone. This could very well be our final fight." Deus reminded everyone.

Everyone nods their heads in agreement. After that, they enter the portal. At Falador, in Cassius' room. He was with Kyrie, who began to remember the people of her past, including Cassius. They were on a bench, sitting next to each other with their hands holding each other's. After a minute, Cassius felt something in the air. "Our guests are here." Cassius mumbled.

Cassius and Kyrie sat up from the bench and look down a balcony that can see the entire front. Cassius and Kyrie scan their eyes until Cassius found them. Roy looks up and sees the two. Kyrie was standing right next to Cassius as he glared at Roy. After a minute, Cassius and Kyrie walk back into the castle. Roy looks back in-front of of him.

Dante realizes that Roy was looking at something but ignores the fact. They enter the castle, no trace or sound of a guard, the castle was just an empty ghost town. The group continued to walk forward until they reach quite a large room. Four of the generals rise, Kvetch, Alberto, Isaac, and the fully recovered Zechariah.

Spero looks at Dante and Roy. "Go on ahead. We'll handle them." he said. Roy looks at Spero. "Be alright." Roy replied. Dante and Roy ran off to the next room. Roy and Dante continue on, reaching on until the third floor, the same floor as Angelo's room where he is located. Once they reach a hallway, footsteps echo throughout the hallway.

It was Cassius and Kyrie. Cassius had his arms crossed as he stared at Roy. Cassius looks at Kyrie. "You mind taking care of Dante, Kyrie?" he asked. "Very well." she replied. Kyrie charged at Dante at quick speed and tackles him into the next room. Cassius' smirk returned to his face as he closed his eyes.

His smirk goes down as took a few steps forward. "Finally, some nice quiet time." he said. "Too bad Anna isn't here to enjoy it."

"Stop mocking her! Why Cassius!? Why did you do that to me, to her, to us!?!" he shouted back.

"To tell you the truth Roy. I hate you more than I have ever hated anyone in my life ever since I first saw you."

"Why? Why did I do to deserve your hate?"

"I don't know. But I can't stand being in the same room with you. Because I want to kill you so badly."

"Harsh..."

"You've never taken ANYTHING seriously! Not even what's going on right now." Cassius opens his eyes, his eyes were glowing crimson red. "I destroyed your lifeblood, your world. I made it all crash around you. Strike me down with your anger, your emotions!!"

"No. Taking your life isn't the right way."

"You weakling. You're allowing me to walk all over you?! You're not even going to fight?" Cassius disappeared and re-appeared in-front of Roy. Roy's eyes quickly widened. Cassius punches Roy right in his face. Roy falls to the ground. He sat up and rubbed his cheek. "I took your love, your life, your everything!! And you're not going to do anything about!?!"

"I just don't think violence is the way."

"She didn't really mean that much to you, did she?"

Roy quickly got back to his feet and grabbed the collar of Cassius' trench coat. "She meant the world to me! How the hell would you know anything!?"

"Well, I'm her killer. And if your words are true, it's common sense to think that you wouldn't forgive me so easily because of that fact."

Roy lets go of Cassius' trench coat's collar. "She wasn't the type to hold grudges, and neither am I."

"Is that really the truth? You have anger in your eyes, Roy. I can see it."

Roy clenches his hands. Roy's eyes go down. "Fine..maybe I am a bit angry. But it's not enough to want to kill you!"

Cassius shook his head side to side. "You've got a lot more anger than just 'a bit'." Cassius draws his Zamorak Godsword and Dragon two-handed Sword. "I assume you have a sword. Let's fight, unless you wish to die." Cassius swung his Zamorak Godsword at Roy - who quickly drew his blade and blocked the attack. "If we must fight. So be it." Roy replied.

Roy jumps back and Cassius follows. Electricity built up in Cassius' Dragon two-handed Sword. Cassius slammed his Dragon two-handed Sword at the ground and the electricity within the blade travels Roy's way at lighting bolt speed, literally. Roy quickly throws his left hand out and a barrier appears around him.

The electricity shoots at the barrier and deflects to the right and left sides. Roy quickly lets down his barrier and Cassius charges in. Roy at the last minute blocks, but his sword is deflected out of his hand. And it lands several feet away from him. Cassius points his Zamorak Godsword at Roy's throat. Roy looks at Cassius, falls to his knees, and shrugs his shoulders.

"You've got me where you want me. If you hate me so much, why don't you just take my life right now?" he asked. Cassius' hand began to shake. He puts his sword closer to Roy's throat. After a minute, he closed his eyes and puts his sword down.

Roy smiles. "I knew it!" he shouted as if a light bulb went off above his head.

"What? It's not like I wasn't tempted to." Cassius replied.

"But you didn't. So, that proves you don't want me dead."

"I do."

Roy's holds his hands out to his side. "So then do it. Take my life if that is what you wish."

He sighs. "..I can't..I don't have it in me to take your life as well.."

"Aha! So, you don't want me dead afterall!"

"I do and I don't." Cassius lets out another sigh. "I don't know myself anymore. What I'm doing, what I want, what I'm here for. Anna tried helping me so many times..and I smacked it away. I'm truly pathetic, aren't I?"

Roy shook his head side to side. "No. You've been from hell to back. Not knowing who you are doesn't make you pathetic. You've just been caught so greatly in this war that you don't understand what you're doing anymore."

"And you can so easily forgive me? Even if I took Anna's life?"

"I told you I don't hold grudges." Roy got back to his feet and dusts off his armour. "Besides, you said it yourself that you had no idea what you were doing. So, thinking that. I can say I believe you and forgive you."

"The only way I was able to keep real is with my human side. The only reason-"

"-The only reason I'm still alive, right?"

"..Yeah."

"So, I've got a question for you."

"?"

"Why did you save my life and Anna's so many times? Is it because you 'pity' us or maybe...you do think of us as friends."

Cassius didn't reply. He just kind of looked away. "We need to hurry."

"Ah..right."

"You go on ahead, I've got to do something quickly."

"Like what?"

"I've got to get Kyrie on our side."

Roy smiles "Alright. I'll see you later then."

"Gotcha."

Roy ran over and grabbed his sword. And with that, the two headed off their separate ways. Roy ran down several hallways until finally reaching a large, glided door. Roy bursts through it and sees Angelo on his throne chair. His eyes closed and his hands folded on his lap. Roy looked at Angelo.

"It's over! Surrender yourself!" Roy shouted.

Angelo smirked and began to laugh. Roy thought it was unusual for Angelo to do such actions. When Angelo opened his eyes, the message was clear. When he did in fact open his eyes, Roy's eyes widened. Angelo's eyes glowed orange, not crimson red. Roy trembled as he took a few steps back.

Angelo smirked. "What? Were you expecting somebody else?" Angelo said in a voice that sounded all too familiar.
