The pony snorted and Ak’syisi smiled at Grog’s interpretation of his name, but there was no mocking in either of their expressions. That he had decided to call the kobold something other than his actual name wasn’t a bad thing at all, and in fact Ak’syisi would say that he preferred it. Whatever someone wished to call him was fine, as it was ultimately their choice how he was going to be remembered. Besides, his name was one of his own tongue, and most people did not speak well in tongues other than their own.

It might seem strange to Grog - or he might not care - that the pony was able to keep up with him effortlessly, but the fact of the matter was that the creature was far from normal. His bond with the kobold sitting on his back made him stronger, faster, and in every way better than the average specimen of his kind. It wasn’t a relationship that many would understand, but they didn’t need to in order to see the results.

Grog, what is your opinion on this expedition? Is it actually worth trying?
” he asked as they walked. Although it might be a question that grog would have about as much of an answer for as he did, the kobold felt as though it was worth asking. Just because someone did not act like the most intelligent individual did not mean their opinion was any less valuable, and sometimes it was actually better than someone who overthought things.

At around this point they were approaching the tree, and when they reached the base of the stairs going up Ak’syisi climbed off the pony, told him, “
Once again, I am sorry you cannot accompany me. I will return before long.
” before turning to Grog and saying, “
Please, go ahead of me. I cannot climb as quickly as you.

The pony gave a nod of his head like a human would before moving off and finding a comfortable spot to lie down. There was no need to tie him up, and Ak'syisi would never dream of insulting him like that anyways.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Gaius

Gaius's head turned, inclining slightly at the birdman who spoke up. "Ah, there you are!" He lifted his mug, hopped off his seat, and strode across the tavern with purpose, sidestepping around patrons and furniture. When he reached the table he sat down right next to Sorey and brought his mug down on the hard wooden surface with a clank!

"So, it seems the Lord of Fire and Light has willed my path to cross with yours." He mused aloud, studying the Raptoran's facial expression. "I am Gaius, Wanderer of Arrus. What's this I hear about Vaults, and why did you contact me - are you associated with my Order, or have you merely heard tales of my exploits?"

Annie was happy that the owl hooted and pointed west. She said in a nervous voice,”Thank you.” She felt so tired from the day of travel but didn't know what to do. She looked in her pack and relized that her food supply was empty because she at the last of her food tonight. She could feel a strange enengy started to grow in her and it scared her. So she decided to put out her fire and travel west as the owl told her to go. -Dances-

Sorey expression is one of relief his posture seemingly relaxed in the comfortable chair he considers your words careful inclining his head in a appreciative nod. "It's a pleasure to meet you Ser Gaius and as a matter of fact you would correct on all accounts but I shall save the explaining myself until the others have arrived if that suites you?" He smiled, "But I am indeed Sorey Windspeaker and this my assistant Erimentha, the Keeper of Thoughts whom I believe you are already acquainted." His eyes turned away for a moment towards the Kenku speaking with the sickly gentleman.

Erimentha - the owl meanwhile observes you closely inspecting every piece of equipment in your possession almost as if returning the favour although there is weight to the air around the pair as if some invisible force were shrouding them.

Leon meanwhile receives a similar wave as Meza blinks in bewilderment, they received human merchants frequently and few had refused their aid but she nodded and replied, "Yes, indeed he is that rather peculiar fellow over there by the fireplace. Are you one of his companions?"

The Owls path takes you through the densely packed forest, to begin with there is little of note here with wildlife you might expect to find anywhere in the world. This however gradually transitions into swamp land a region you do not ever recall to have even existed, the pools that have gathered here seem unnatural and indeed you notice the trees have begun to bleed sap into thick pools of slime which feed a dense toxic miasma.

The Owl descends closer to you coming to a slow and cautious glide as it's body radiates a soft golden light that seems to offer you both safe passage. Amongst the fog you notice the rotting remains of wildlife and even the outline of a great hulking beast that has collapsed amongst the fog, as you approach you realise this creature is a dragon it's scales bubbling into rot even as it took long choking breaths pausing for a moment the Owl seems to comfort the creature before it's passing and moves on.

Some creatures however appeared to have survived this land although their flesh has been twisted and warped into unnatural shapes with many having seemingly gouged out their eyes. They ignore you thankfully but one strange creature does not, stalking the edges of the Owl's radiance you see what appears a skeletal wolf it's body formed of crystal glass and eyes a baleful blue glow located between it's ribs is a central mass that forms a crystal which twists and turns into impossible shapes and patterns that churn your stomach.

Soon you leave this region and hours later arrive in the shadow of a mountain that appears to have been cracked in two with statues of eagles and their wings marking the gap between. You can see large birds circling above, Roc's or Eagles maybe accompanied by winged folk equipped with what appears to be silver tipped spears matching their feathered helmet. They welcome you into town and soon after the Owl makes it's way deeper into the canyon towards a tavern you assume your destination.

Annie follows the owl in a very densely packed forest to their destination. She was very scared of this forest but grateful that the owl was keeping her safe as they traveled. She never saw forest like this because she saw a strange creature with blue eyes on its stomach and it freak her out .

Many hours later they finally got to a town and soon after the Owl makes it's way deeper into the canyon towards a tavern she assume it was her destination. She was very tried from her travel. She asked in a tired voice as she walk towards the tavern," Is this the Twin Eagle’s Peak Tavern?" She tired to ignore the strange energy that was growing inside of her.

Gaius

A look of minor impatience came across Gaius's face when he discovered he would have to wait for an exploration, but it quickly passed and his expression turned back to one of jubilance. "Another drink!" He called out.

" Grog not really understand all things in letter, but Grog want help others, " Grog told his little lizard companion, his distinctly... Simple, thoughts on such a grand and serious matter perhaps seeming a touch TOO simple. Really, it made it sound like he had no idea what he was getting into. Which might have been true.

Reaching the base of the tree prompted the little lizard to get off of his small horse, and the Orc turned to look at the brief exchange - shaking his head at Aki as he was told to go on ahead. Instead Grog slowed his long strides to match the slower speed of his new friend - the pair making their way up the stairs to their destiny.

Sighing softly Sorey smiles seemingly pleased with the turn out of the wouldbe champions. Good or Evil, Man or 'Monster', it mattered little in these grim times and would not hear the end of it if the General discovered his treachery. Still he saw no point in sending people to their deaths, no matter the cause. He turned to his owl for a moment, "Is this all of them?" He spoke aloud to which the Owl offered no reply not even a inclination instead he simply nodded and cleared his throat to address the gathering.

He offered each a drink and meal of spiced potatoes and lettuce appearing to take the Kenku's advice upon the matter once all are comfortable he takes a long moment of thought before addressing the party, "Welcome all to Eagle's Peak, passage to the City of Feathers and home of my people. I have asked you all to come here in hopes you might aide me in a expedition to uncover the ancient and forgotten Vaults but before then I feel you all deserve a explanation as to how I came to have knowledge of each of you."

"Dumak (Dark)" A voice was spoken in a rough accent suddenly two runes extended outwards from the edge of the table, expanding until it had covered their corner. The outside world turned mute and darkness shrouded them with only the grace of the moon to illuminate the table upon which they sat as if everything had melted away.

The empty chair besides Sorey was now occupied by a small creature it's body covered in a mixture of gold glisten scales and vibrant green feathers tipped in a deep crimson highlight. Those covering the creatures blunt snouted head pulsed in a prismatic display, while his body was decorated in tattoos reflecting the moons light not unlike Moonrunes.

Many appeared hieroglyphic in nature but upon closure inspection one could make out an ancient dialect similar in form to written Draconic. "This Spirit is Haotl once Prime Minister of the Satorian peoples."

Removing his taloned hand from the table he considered each of you for a moment before glancing at Sorey, who then explained, "I found him residing within the Vault of Meztli, or Vault of the Moon in our tongue. He helped me locate you all with... almost perfect precision." He glanced at Haotl who responded;

"The Vaults record the history of the world, as do the other twelve located across your world. It was simply a matter of isolating the relevant thread within the weave of time and drawing upon it, the result is those you see around you.

If saving the world from this threat does not interest you then the Vaults contain the legacy of my people including their knowledge, power, and wealth. It is this creatures belief that you may also uncover the knowledge necessary to defeat the Night Serpent, a knowledge that eludes me.

In short, the keys to your future lie in the past."

Sorey nodded, "But first there is a matter we must attend to, General Volkharion has requisitioned our entire fleet and The Legacy, a vessel we had intended to take advantage of is included in that requestion. I have attempted to persuade the High Chieftains to reconsider but they remain tied to the Accords and thus the war effort.... My people are known for their stubbornness." He sighed
