Earlier Morton had told him that if a gun bubble began to take damage, a metal door would seal off the turret from the rest of the ship, preventing any water from getting into the body of the submarine.
At least I won’t be getting shot at, he noted. As if to spite his statement, a small device extended from the side of the second submarine. Attached to it was a large tubular object.
'A torpedo!' he thought. If they got that off, he’d have no chance. Suddenly, an idea struck him. He would have to work fast, but if it worked…He directed his barrage towards the torpedo, fervently hoping that a stray shot would go where he wanted it to. Luckily, it did. A shot hit the torpedo before it was launched, exploding it prematurely. It tore a massive hole in the side of the submarine. Water began to pour into it, completely filling the sub in a few seconds.
Zach smiled. Mission accomplished.
