“Good girl,” Erevin said. “For now, Nhur says he wants you and your crystal ball in the ritual chamber for a special meeting within the hour.”

Uthalion stood at the balcony of his room later that evening. The fires seemed to be growing by the hour, so it didn't seem like an evening in the slightest to him.
“Mind if I join you?” Erevin asked as he flew by the balcony in his gargoyle form.
“Sure, go for it,” he replied. The Gargoyle-Erevin perched on the railings, and stared into the distance with Uthalion.
“I’ve been wondering something,” he said at last. “I’m sure you know that Werewolves have an Alpha Male and Female, right?”
“Yeah,” Uthalion said. “In fact, I think the voices I’ve been hearing while I had the Talisman mentioned that even the Doomhounds have one too.”
“That wouldn’t surprise me,” he said. “You see, if that’s true, then I have a theory: we find the alpha and kill it. That should paralyze them at most, or at least disorganize them so we can find a way to end this before it gets any worse.”
“Good idea,” Uthalion replied sarcastically. “Thing is, who the hell’s the Alpha, then? I mean, the only guy I know who might be it got stuck in a tomb in Bloodgrove Forest the last time I saw him, and I doubt we could find him by now if these things are roaming around the wilderness.”
“They do look alike, I admit,” Erevin said. “I just can’t help but wonder is all. I mean, if there’s no Alpha, then there has to be another leader, right?”

A Mad Hatter
The man in blue looked at Ukrosha that night as it burned. Despite the warmth of the season, he couldn’t help but feel chilled to the bone as the winds from the city blew down to the hills in the wilderness, causing his robes to flutter ominously in the wind.
He could only watch at this point, he knew. Watch and wait. Not only because of his oaths, but also because of the fact that he already expended no small amount of power to try and curb the Doomhound threat in the city earlier that day. To cast more spells in his condition without resting would prove catastrophic at most, or maybe just painful if he was very lucky.
Which made watching a horde of Hounds converge on the city from all directions of the wilderness much more painful to bear. No doubt the creatures would be able to leap across the moat and scale the walls, and if he was a gambling man, he would be betting that by daybreak the city would fall unless action was taken soon.
“Come on, Damned One,” he said to the sky. "It all rests on you now. Gods help us, the outcome of this mess rests on you and your allies now."

*sniff*
...only 2 actual chapters left. Definitely gonna be working overtime to get them out for the time being, but not going to bother announcing ETAs or anything like that since there's quite a few things that I have coming up for school that could set them back a bit too.
*note to self: finishing editing rest of chapters on the list in free time o.O*

For some reason those things being like a sewer didn't surprise me. Idk why
Serious question though...how do you even know this stuff? Just asking since it's really rare to find anyone who actually knows things like that around the forums these days
