Right, might as well get this out of the way since I'm on even though only a handful of people are gonna care *cough*ingame*ctrollsthisis4u*cough*.
Finals week is this week. So new chapters will be expected either near the end of this week, or if fate curses me to train Smithing really slowly, sometime near the beginning of next week.
<>
And since some people don't seem to understand the concept of patience and surprises, we have ahead of us....
+A few more chapters in Translation I
+One more interlude after that
+Translation II (which might have about 10-15 chapters in it if everything goes to plan)
And one final Interlude obviously followed by the Epilogue.
<>
^ Blame the people from the CC I use for that part of the announcement, but if anyone asks me about this one more time I'm just gonna point to this and let them figure it out. >.>

^ Heh, so would I. Then again, who doesn't love a good overdone/stupid cliche every now and then?
Though I'm sorely tempted to compare this to the Crocodile Hunter more than (some) horror movies...."Oh, lookit. A dangerous animal that can rip my arms off and snap my neck with the flick of a tail. Let's poke it with a stick and see what happens!!!

Alright, news on adds: they're currently in progress, but were stopped for a bit because of the latest quest (which was a pain in the ass, I might add >.> ) . Now that it's done, I'm moving the time table up to next week sometime at the latest, mostly due to my insane work schedule that nobody wants.

Chapter 5
<><>
Location: The Great Bazaar, located to the south of Ukrosha.
<><>
The sun was shining more brightly than usual today, Kaz decided. She looked around the Bazaar, and noticed that the various shoppers looking around and merchants peddling their wares were apparently annoyed at the sun as well, for they were wearing cloaks with hoods covering their faces. Shades weren’t necessarily hurt by the sun per se. Their skin didn't wrinkle up and disintegrate like a vampires would, the natural shadows surrounding them didn't go away at all, and even the shadow magic which Chantry mages and other powerful individuals possessed still worked perfectly.
But that didn't mean they weren’t at a disadvantage either, because the Plane of Shadow’s sun was somehow able to blind most Shades if they didn't keep their faces covered by some means, or at the very least had some kind of charm to protect against it.
Kaz was also delighted to see that other races were present in the Bazaar as well, some of which were also wearing hooded cloaks similar in design to what the Shades were wearing. That in itself wasn’t unnatural, considering that A) Shades weren’t the only inhabitants on the plane susceptible to the sun, and B) the Great Bazaar was the major trading hub on the continent, if not the entire plane, which was a natural drawing point for buyers and sellers alike.
However, now that the news of the botched attack on Nhur was spreading like wildfire, along with the fact that a few wanted posters with her description included on them were also hung up around the capital and its surrounding environs, she needed all of the concealment she could get at this point.

Luckily for her, the Bazaar itself was easy to get lost in if she needed to, since it was like a little city even though it was a marketplace. The many winding stone paths which led to various storefronts and docks made it so any wrong turn could easily snowball into the involved parties searching for hours on end before they would be able to find a path which would lead back to their starting point (which also meant that further attempts would be doomed to fail repeatedly if they didn't have a map on hand) However, unlike most people who came to the Bazaar for leisure shopping, Kaz had a specific destination in mind that day, and she was running late.
She pulled the hood of her cloak over her head, and started off down a path. She passed several buildings as she navigated the twists and turns, some seemed to be completely void of any shadows supporting the structures, while some seemed to have been made completely from the landscape’s natural shadows themselves, and some were in between the two extremes.
She eventually came to a stop in a small courtyard located under a small cliff, which had a marble fountain in the center shaped like two dragons intertwined with each other in a fierce duel spewing water from their mouths.
The courtyard was surrounded by buildings carved into the side of the cliff to the south, as well as a few buildings made out of wood and stone on the western and eastern ends. A bar was among the establishments carved into the cliff, which was surrounded by the usual bouncers and the underage or drunk patrons trying their hand at sneaking past them.

Good, Kaz thought to herself. It looks like half of the plaza was there for the bar, so that made going unnoticed much easier. She turned her attention to a shop near the eastern end of the courtyard, which was a decent sized wooden building with strange markings on the sign hanging over the doorway.
She went into it, and upon entering the doorway, a small chime sounded from somewhere in the shop. Kaz shrugged it off as some harmless security measure and looked around. The shop seemed to consist of only one room, but the room itself was pretty big, even though various shelves and desks overflowing with strange and obviously magical wares were scattered around randomly, some of which blocked the odd window.
She made her way over to the far end of the shop, and found an old man sleeping peacefully behind a counter. Kaz cleared her throat softly, because even though the man *looked* old and frail with his gray, static hair, extremely wrinkled skin, and fading shadows, for all she knew he could have been a mage powerful enough to kill her with a thought if she wasn’t careful.
The old man opened one eye, and on seeing her, he took off his little spectacles, cleaned them with his shirt, and then took another look at Kaz. His features brightened, as if this were the first time he had a customer and was eager not to mess anything up. “Ah, hello there,” he greeted her. “How can I help you?”
Kaz pulled back her hood, and replied. “I’m looking for a special type of crystal that aids in teleportation. I heard that you might know where to find one.”
“Well,” the old man said. “I happen to have some crystals which could help, but they work for different distances. How far do you plan to cast the spell?”

She told him her best estimate. The shopkeeper nodded, and went through a door she hadn’t noticed before. He came out shortly after going in, and held a small box in his hands. He let it drop onto the counter with a loud thud, and worked the lock to open it. He lifted the lid, and turned it so Kaz could see the contents. Inside were a few dozen crystals of different shapes, colors, and sizes. “Now, is this spell an arcane spell? Or shall you be using Psionics? Or maybe the magic is divine in nature?”
“I’ll be using Psionics,” she replied. When the man looked at her with a puzzled expression, she added, “I’m expecting to go into a dangerous area and need to conserve power if possible. Lives may depend on it.”
He nodded thoughtfully. “I see. Then it looks like you’ll want the Skiven crystal.” He took out a small rose colored crystal, and handed it to Kaz. “I must warn you, however. The Skiven crystal….it is, how do you say…’unnatural’. It’s entirely possible that some alien being will try to influence the teleport in some fashion, although that occurrence is very rare for experienced manifesters.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Well, can't say I didn't warn you any.” The old man replied. “That piece of work costs five hundred silver to you.”
Kaz nodded, and drew a pouch from the recesses of her cloak. She left it on the counter in front of the old man, who seemed cautious to take it for some reason. “That should cover it, and then some. Thank you for the service.” She pulled the hood over her head once more, and left the shop.

V found himself standing in a courtyard after following a seemingly random path that seemed to stretch on for an eternity. At first he thought that the map he had bought from the vendor at the Bazaar gates might have been a fake meant to lure him into some random area so he could get mugged by some cronies, but on further inspection, he was elated to find that he was exactly where he wanted to be.
He began walking towards his destination, which was a bar carved into the side of a cliff known as the ‘Winking Dragon’, but as he made his way around the fountain in the middle, he accidentally ran into a Shade, who fell to the ground with a yelp as its belongings scattered across the ground.
“Ah, crap. Sorry,” he said as he offered to help the Shade up. He noticed that her hood was down, and the look on her face seemed to indicate that she would probably give him a tongue lashing at the least if she wasn’t in a hurry. Then her features seemed to soften a bit.
“Don’t worry, it’s alright,” she replied as she began to gather her things. “I was in a hurry to get out of this place and wasn’t paying attention. I’m sort of running short on time and can't stay long.”
“Well, in that case you might want to get out of here,” V said. "I don’t want to keep you busy for longer than you need to be.” He began to help her gather some of the scattered items that fell from her cloak.
“Thanks a lot,” the Shade said as she finished putting the last of the items into her cloak. “I’m sorry for being rude like this, but I really need to go. Thanks again!” She waved to him as she ran down the pathway V had emerged from. He noticed a small bag on the ground, and picked it up. V shifted through its contents, which seemed to be only a handful of bronze and silver coins, and noticed a name stitched into the bag as he closed it.
