Arial and Rajh, deciding that they had nothing else to lose, charged Nhur for one last ditch attempt to wound him. Nhur spun around, and on meeting Arial’s gaze his eyes glowed, leaving the Shade general paralyzed with an unnatural fear.
Grinning at Rajh, he muttered, “Let’s see how well your animal senses truly serve you,” as four images of the Mahjarrat appeared around him. Swiping furiously, Rajh was unable to tell which Nhur was real and which was an illusion, but he didn't need to wonder for long as the images disappeared and he knew pain.

Arial still couldn’t move by the time Rajh went down for the count. Nhur turned to face him, an evil grin crossing his features. “I must admit, general, you and yours gave me quite the battle there. It’s such a pity that you still swear loyalty to the deceased, though for what it’s worth you did him proud with this little display of yours. I imagine that we could have accomplished much together.”
“Burn in the Abyss,” Arial managed to say.
“Oh, no," Nhur replied. “I imagine it’s you who shall burn, though it won’t be in the Abyss and on some demon lord’s terms. It shall be on mine terms, at a place of my choosing.”
The Mahjarrat went over to Kaz, and bent over to examine her. Noticing something, he rummaged through her cloak, and pulled out a wand carved from ice. Pointing it at Arial, he said the command word, and released a bolt of ice that pierced his shoulder.
The last thing he saw as his vision faded was Kaz getting up, moving over to Joran, and disappearing with a white flash as she threw something down to the ground.

The spell wall around the battleground dissipated as the mage teleported away. Nhur looked around to survey the scene, and frowned. An Ordinator ran up to the emperor, saluted him, and on seeing his appearance asked “Sir, are you alright? What happened?”
Nhur grunted. “Rebels. They had a witch with them, but it looks like she escaped.”

Turning to where the general fell, he also noticed that the Rakshasa had disappeared as well. He wasn’t surprised, for he was fully aware of the tiger-men’s strong survival instinct which always made them paranoid enough to always have a means of escape, even if they weren’t in any danger. “There was a Rakshasa as well. Though he’s not important right now, and he could be anywhere in the city….if he’s still here, that is.”
“Then...what is thy bidding, Lord Emperor?”
Nhur nodded towards the comatose body of Arial. “Take this one to the Keep. Make sure he lives, too. I have plans for him.”
“Yes, sir!"the Ordinator replied. He motioned to a few of the others that started drawing near the platform. “Orders from the Emperor himself: that man over there is under arrest. Don’t worry, it looks like he’s already disarmed as it is, so you all should be safe as it stands.”

Nhur stood watch as the guards transferred the general’s body to a stretcher, which was promptly secured to a hippogriff that immediately took off into the night. He wondered...something didn't seem right about the whole thing. The general attempting to kill him was kind of expected, if not understandable from his viewpoint, but even then, Nhur felt that something was wrong for some reason.
He decided that they were the thoughts of the paranoid, and brushed them off as such as he turned to the guards that would lead him to the palace.

The figure on the rooftops sighed. His form shifted, and the Ordinator appearance gave way to reveal a bald man in blue robes. Arcane tattoos scarred his head, each symbol seeming to hold power just waiting to unleash itself at a moments notice. His eyes shone with a red gleam, seeming to search for something, but never finding the object of their desire.
Oh well, he thought. The tiger-man seemed like a suitable candidate, but what he saw of the confrontation with the Mahjarrat, there was much to be desired in his abilities.
Then, he felt something. It was like a ripple of energy that tugged at his....unique....senses, exquisite, yet dangerous all at once. Deciding that whatever caused the spike might be a more appropriate recruit, the man teleported away, with nobody the wiser to his presence that night.

^Cool. Unfortunately it looks like it'll be a week or so until the next adds come since I'm leaving for that trip I told you about ingame and need to get things ready on my end.....which means catching up on some work for my one online class which will take a while since I also have to work most of the week anyway >.<
Or maybe I'll get extremely lucky and have at least one new chapter up by the time I leave. I don't know at this point
