"First I will tell the story of those who I now accompany. For I do this for them as much as for me."
Nate squinted his eyes. What a strange woman. She would defend them before herself, even when she is in more danger? Isabelle continued,
"They travelled with the one you know as Sestial, but to my people she is known as Seztial, spy in the Roomadon camp. She took the dragonkin to the Nephilum to be ambushed. They are not at fault for her absence, she is."
Gasps echoed about the crowd, and whispers began to break out. The elder banged a staff against the ground and the whispering settled.
Isabelle continued,
"I saved the dragonkin from the rest of my clan, and travelled with them here, to escape. There is something brewing in the Nephilum that I don't agree with. Your friends are not who you expected. Sestial was a traitor, but the dragonkin, and I wish to be good allies, and help you protect your way of life. Please, do not reject our plea."
The crowd was motionless, all eyes rested on the elder. Nate watched from his spot, leaned up against a hut. The elder was considering Isabelle's words. His decision would greatly affect their lives, and the lives of all who participated in the war, that was now emerging. To have the power of the Roomadon on their side would greatly help their cause, and all that now rested in Isabelle's pledge.
The priest finally raised his hands, and spoke.
"Though your words are farfetched, you do speak the truth, for the blood has not boiled." he said, gesturing to the bowls of blood that sat below Isabelle.
"Though your words are true, you must understand our side of this predicament. You come to us, as one of our mortal enemies, and say that one of our most powerful members is a traitor. This will take some time to comprehend. We will consider you an ally, both you and the dragonkin will have the allegiance of the Roomadon, but I have to have all three of you interrogated, for the good of my tribe. Is this agreeable?"
