CHAPTER 7: Demands
Nate looked back at the three elders, "You're telling me that, you still don't trust us?" Nate questioned, "Even after one of your own people vouched for me?"
"I'm sorry, the matter is not with your people or your actions, it is with ours," The Elder on the left said.
" We are obligated to our people to be wary of anybody that has the ability to harm us." The middle Elder continued.
"But we won't, thats what I'm trying to say." Nate stated impatiently.
"We cannot trust you until you have the trust of our top sage." said the left Elder.
"Okay bring him in then" Nate said, leaning back in his chair.
A voice lofted in from the doorway, " I assume you mean bring her in, Nate?"
In the doorway stood a beautiful woman with long black hair and a robe made of fur and leather. She wore many necklaces with animal teeth and various jewels.
Nate just stared at her, " how did you-" he began, but she cut him off.
" I am Sestial, the sage of the Roomadon. I can see people's minds. That is how I knew your name, as I know yours Spindle, Gorgo."
Nate nodded slowly. " So can you read immediate thoughts? Like a simple thought that would pass through someone's head?"
"No, I can only read someone's memories and other mental thoughts that are more deep and thought of often." Sestial explained. "Now then with your permission," she continued turning to the elders. " I will take our guests to my quarters to better understand them"
The elders nodded so Sestial gestured for Nate, Spindle, and Gorgo to follow her.
They went into the house next door, which was covered in decorative leaves and chains. Inside were three tables, a bed, multiple chests and drawers.
"Please, sit" Sestial said gesturing to some pillows.
The three dragonkin sat down.
"Now then, I know that you three mean know harm to me or the Roomadon." Sestial said confidently.
