However, Aura seemed to have no trouble dodging the blows. His reactions seemed instantaneous, and even then the sword was barely missing him. There was no way of telling who was winning; everything was happening far too fast.
Then, all that changed. The man paused, luring Aura into an attack, before swinging his sword around at Aura’s neck. Aura swerved, but he was becoming tired and he could not escape fast enough. The blade nicked him on the shoulder, and he fell with a cry.
The man smirked and walked towards Aura, who had dropped his scimitar. Logan backed slowly away, terrified as to what was about to happen to Aura, then inevitably to him. Aura lay, clutching his arm.
“Goodbye, Aura.” said the man, grinning.
He brought his sword above his head, intending to decapitate Aura. To Logan’s surprise, Aura grinned. Before the man could see what he’d done wrong, Aura shot up, flicking the dagger back out from his sleeve. In an instant, he had thrust it through the man’s golden armour. It passed through it effortlessly, cutting his ribs like butter and piercing his heart. His eyes bulged, and in a final effort he brought the sword down, but Aura had long gone. Aura twisted the knife, and pulled on it. The man fell down the ground, gasping. He dropped his sword, and it fell with a clatter.
