This will probably disappoint you, but so are multiplayer strategies. Since the game is really limited to units fighting and which type of units are strong against which; as oppose to real life where you can really go out of the bow and for example set the field on fire to burn your enemies or dig traps, or have some of your own soldier in their ranks to cause chaos during fighting etc; so the techniques are generally the same. There's always a frontal attack, and flanking maneuvers.
I play AOE3 with my brothers, but that game is solely about speed, I can win against several of my brothers against me, but I'm not even nearly good enough for multiplayer. (Nor do I strive to be: I like strategy, ruse, and thought alot more than math, resources, and speed of clicking.) Secretly turn up the game speed? XD Evil, evil! Is your sister good at those?
Oh trust me, the friends I play with take hours... Plus, I don't even know why but I have a reputation to be good at chess. (Which I have no idea where it comes from since I don't play chess!) So everyone take their sweet time fighting me... And I hate waiting for them. I'm not that good so I plan 1-3 moves ahead, but I've planned them in like 30 seconds while they take forever. And I just sit there, waiting... after an hour, I pretty much lose all will to fight. I guess time chess with a 10 second per turn limit would be more my style.
Fighting, such a controversial thing for me. =P
