I am aware that not all Christians are haters. But you and Caydock are amongst those who disapprove based on religious grounds and not by personal experiences, and religious rules like these are simply unchallenged for centuries simply because they were ignorant beliefs of the past. In the future, I see myself battling for a happy life yet, and one would certainly involve finding a partner to settle down. Yet all these people will come to oppose me not because it affected them very much - but because of a book they were told to believe was right. What that is effectively doing, is stopping a certain population’s morals from evolving with the rest of humanity. The rest of us no longer stone people, and fight countries because they are not of our faith. We no longer talk of going battle for the sake of religious belief, yet Christian hymns are full of ‘Christian soldiers’ images. I’m not saying Christians now do any of those, but these are just morals most of us have evolved out of. But others, on my particular issue, abortion, stem cells research and evolution, not so much. They preach caution, but they derive their caution from an interpretation of an ancient book, not of any real scientific evidence.
If The Church is prosecuted in several countries, which ones? And were they prosecuted because there is another religion present which enforces these, or is that the government’s decision? Those led to separate issues, actually. But as far as human rights are concerned, they are wrong to persecute someone of a particular belief, just like they would be wrong to persecute someone because they were attracted to the same gender.
Finally, to your question, this story is not based on any real life event, unlike The Priceless. It was a make-believe scenario that I predict for myself. I simply know enough about what the protagonist might be going through.
