^*)- Chapter 3: Reign of the Storm -(*^
"My gosh... I swear, if I wasn't so used to this, I would've quit ages ago!" Thessalia yawned and hung up some more clothes, pants, dresses, blouses, and skirts for display and sale.
"Well... you go to sleep for a while. I'll take over while you're out. You deserve it after working all night." Sonia began to help Thessalia to the bedroom.
"Thanks, Sonia... I'm expecting a delivery of new fabrics sometime today, because I want to experiment with some new styles that I think will sell very well for a great price, and I need someone to be there to sign the forms when it comes. Anyways, I'll see you in a couple of hours... I'm off."
"Ok. I'll be sure to remember that, Thessie. You just go to sleep." Thessalia closed the door to the bedroom, while Sonia grabbed a needle and some white thread and finished the missing collar on one of the shirts, and then put it on the table.
"Hey! Do you know where I get a new handle for my sword?" A slightly short man in Mithril armor called out from the entryway of the store. His sword was made of Runite, one of the strongest materials used in weaponry. The only stronger weapons were the strange Dragon weapons and the ancient Barrows weapons.
"I think you should visit either the sword shop or the armory, either one of those places could help you." Sonia wasn't paying too much attention to the man, as she was arranging some shirts by color and size.
"Oh, no, I just wanted something to keep the handle from making that painful depression in my hand..." The adventurer held has hand, and imprinted on it was a red, oval mark from where a sword had been held.
"Ow. I could sell you some leather gloves... those will protect your hands from getting sore. Only 3 Gold Pieces!" Sonia grabbed a pair of simple, brown leather gloves from the basket full of gloves on the floor next to the table with the shirts on it.
"Ok..." The man reached into his pocket and grabbed 3 Gold Coins.

Sonia took the Gold Coins, and gave the man the pair of leather gloves.
"Thanks! These will really help my hands now!" The man put on the gloves and walked out of the store.
"It's no problem!" Sonia said happily as the man walked out.
For the next few hours, Sonia was entertained as a group of tourists from East Ardougne came and caused all sorts of trouble in Varrock, such as asking the Bankers why they all looked the same over and over again until the other people in the bank literally threw them out, and they all tried to cram themselves through the entryway to the King's Castle and the Guards that weren't already being attacked had to break it up, with many of those forces getting severely injured in the process, and that was where the fun ended, at least for Sonia.
The mob of tourists started to walk down the square to the clothes store, and they accidentally ran over Romeo while he was gazing at the sky, thinking of Juliet. He was left a dirty man who got up and said,
"Hey, how did I get down here? And why is my shirt so awfully dirty?"
The tourists began to make another clog in the door as they all were eager to squeeze through the door and buy all the things they could possibly hold. It ended up with three people lying on the floor grabbing gloves from the basket and asking Sonia how much it was for the pairs of gloves, and the others came in and started to roughly handle the dresses and shirts and other clothes. The store had at least 20 people in it, all trying to buy things from one woman who now was having a nervous breakdown.
Sonia pulled on her hair and shouted into the frenzy, "Ok!! Stop! Moving!! All of you!"
All the tourists stopped except for one, which got slapped by another and then he stopped moving.
"Ok! You may look at the clothes, but quietly!! This is not a festival! If you want to buy something, ask me one at a time! I can't tell all of you at the same time! It's insane! So please, give me a break..."

"May I ask one question?" A red-haired woman asked from the back of the horde of tourists.
"Yes? What is it?" Sonia asked, wiping her forehead of sweat.
"Why do people hate us so much here? Back in Ardougne people like us were normal and respected like normal people."
"Umm... this city isn't as... active as Ardougne. We're not used to people charging around and being... active... like you are." Sonia looked down at the floor.
"Oh. Well. I guess we oughta shape up, right guys?" The woman turned to the rest of the tourists, and they all murmured in agreement and nodded.
"Thank you. Now you won't have to make the shop keeper and his assistant pull their hair out, because they have enough work as it is. Now... to business. You can get back to whatever you were doing, as long as you don't go overboard on it."
The tourists got back to their activities, examining clothes, gloves, and boots and reading pamphlets about makeovers, although still having trouble with asking one at a time, which turned Sonia into a workhorse for about an hour. Sonia managed to sell about 200 GP worth of clothes to the tourists, and did two makeovers for 100 GP. When the tourists finally left, she breathed a sigh of relief and began to get out more items from the back room and put them out for sale.
"I seriously hope I don't have to deal with another group of tourists later... or tomorrow... or the next week. Because I think I'll go insane and shout back at them, probably end up killing one of them, and cause a riot." Sonia said, sitting on a chair and resting for a while.
She looked at the door, and saw a man in yellow robes there, holding a package.
"I have a package for one Ms. Thessalia. Are you her?" The man held out the package to Sonia. He had a deep voice that sounded like it would be great for announcing news.
"No, I'm her assistant, Sonia. She told me to expect you and to sign the necessary forms."

"Ah, I see... would you sign this form, then?" The man casted a small spell which caused a feather pen to appear in a tiny cloud of smoke, and he handed the pen over to Sonia. She signed the form, and the man handed her the box with a warm smile.
"Thank you for doing business with us, Ms. Sonia. We hope to hear from you again soon!" The man casted a teleport spell, which caused his body to shrink to the size of an ant and sport a purplish aura around it, and then a ding was heard and the man was gone.
"Ok..." Sonia took the box to the back room and put it under the sewing table, and went back out to the entryway to look at the sky.
"Hey! Get inside!" A bald man yelled from across the street.
"Why?!" Sonia yelled back at the man.
"Because, a big storm's coming! Can't you see those black clouds that are right about to enter the city?!"
Sonia went out of the store into the middle of the street. Gigantic, ominous black clouds were coming from the west, about to enter the city, and the wind was beginning to pick up and blow her hair out of place.
"Oh my gosh... I better wake up Thessie...!"
"You better wake up a priest, lady! 'Cause only Saradomin is gonna save you if you stand out there like that!" The man bellowed, and then closed the door to the general store, leaving Sonia out in the middle of the street.
A bolt of lightning came from the cloud and struck the ground near the city walls, followed by a loud rumble of thunder, as if to restate the point.
Sonia ran inside, through the workshop, and into the bedroom like an agitated monkey. She pushed Thessalia softly, while saying in a very worried voice,
"Get up! There's a big storm coming! We need to protect all of the clothes from being blown away!"
"Uhhh... of course I would like some more grapes, lowly servant." Thessalia said drowsily, still in a dreamy trance.
"Thessie!!"
"Oh! What is it, that you need to wake me up right in the middle of a good dream??"
"The storm!!"

"A storm? Well, we need to get all the clothes in the back, then, and board up the door!" Thessalia got up and went out to the front of the store.
"That's what I said!" Sonia ran out to help her protect the store from the oncoming wrath of the storm.
The rains began to fall as a simple sprinkle, but then they turned to mist, turned to rain, and then turned to a torrent of water, all in a minute. The winds were becoming nasty as trees bowed to its might. No one dared go out in this weather unless they wanted help flying east.

"Are you sure you should be conversing with a peasant?" A voice asked from the other side of the alley.
"I don't see how it could hurt." The other voice responded in apathy through the stormy weather.
"You, of all people, should know how dangerous it is to do that!" The first voice began to get angry, although there was a touch of worry in it as well.
"And you, of all people, should know how stupid it is to fool around with me. Go back to base. I have to tend to some private matters."
"Someday your actions are going to end up killing you, I swear it."
A hooded figure entered a secret door in the wall of the alley, while the other person, also hooded as well, began to chuckle, grab out a strange, green, glowing pen that had no ink at the end, but instead, a burning flame. The figure put it away, and watched the storm go by, water pelting its face and winds making the water possess a stinging quality.

"So. How long do you think this storm will last?" Thessalia asked as she heard the rain pelt the roof of the store. She was sitting on her bed, looking at the roof carefully.
"I don't know. But at least we get some time to ourselves while it's going on. We can... talk. For the first time in a while, we have time to talk that isn't part of our eating routines. We're free, for a while at least." Sonia was sitting on her own bed, closing her eyes and beginning to think about what they could talk about.

The thunder rumbled and the lightning crackled hard, the winds blowing intensely and the rain turning into water bullets. The square of Varrock was totally empty, which was very rare. All the adventurers had gone up ladders to the second floors of various buildings to wait out the storm, and even the Tramp, who had no home, had disappeared from sight, but if he was safe or not, no one knew.
All in all, it was a time where the streets of Varrock enjoyed their quiet time with nature, not a human stepping on them and chattering about pointless things.
"So, Sonia. Have you thought about something we could talk about or do? Because I haven't a clue."
"I'm not sure... but it's days like these that remind me of what happened almost 20 years ago." Sonia looked down while putting her hand on her forehead.
"Ah... yes. I remember. I wasn't there on the night, but I remember the first day I opened this store and I found you wandering the streets." Another wave of thunder rumbled across the skies.
"Yes... I swear, I can remember the yelling so vividly, I can hear it faintly in the distance..."
"Are you serious? Because I think I can hear it too."
Sonia went out of the bedroom, and to the front, where the volume of the yelling began to increase.
She opened the door, and there was the Tramp, trying to keep himself from being blown across the street by the rain and the winds, still yelling at the top of his lungs again and again. The rain and the wind began to come into the store, pelting Sonia in the face, which made her cringe as the rain stung her like bee stings. She grabbed the Tramp by the wrist and began to pull him in.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah-huh? Thank you!!!" The Tramp yelled out in the midst of the storm.
"Thank me later! Now get in and close the door! This rain literally stings!"
The Tramp pulled on Sonia'* hand as she pulled his, and they both were inside the store, breathing hard as the rain and wind were very strong and an ordeal to battle.

"Thank... you!" The Tramp panted, sitting on the floor with his legs sprawled out, keeping himself looking at Sonia by putting his hands on the floor.
"Even if you are a pathetic beggar... you don't deserve to die in the storm." Sonia had her hands on her knees, still breathing hard. Another thunderclap resounded nearby, and the light from a bolt shone strongly from under the door.
The Tramp panted for a while more, and then he got up on his feet. "You wouldn't believe how strong it is out there! I mean, I'm used to being tossed around and told to shut up all the time like an old useless dog, but it's like there's a tornado outside!" He began to amble quickly towards the back rooms, limping softly.
"Let me help you." Sonia said softly as she helped the Tramp get into the back rooms.
They walked into the workshop, and the Tramp suddenly shot off towards the sewing table, throwing Sonia off-balance and nearly causing her to fall.
"Hey! What was that for? I thought you were limping!" Sonia glared at the Tramp.
"I know, I know, but that box under the table! I know where that's from! Those boxes come from a really expensive, fancy jewelry company!" He took the box out from under the table and examined the box closely, lifting it, poking it, and even putting his ear on it.
"Yep, this is it! Jiran Dragonstone Inc."
"And... how do you know this?" Sonia scratched her head.
"Lady, I've begged from anyone and everyone who's crossed these streets. I know a lot of companies, rich and poor. I've almost gotten away with getting some of their merchandise, but... oh, it doesn't matter. This box is full of jewelry, and by the way, it's pretty heavy. I'd say it's got bracelets or a lot of gem-embedded items...”
"For a beggar, you're pretty smart when it comes to identifying cargo. Why don't you work for the Karamja Box Company?"

"I don't know where that is, and I don't plan on finding it unless I have a map of some sort!" The Tramp sulked with the box in his hands.
"You know, sometimes you can be good, but other times...I can understand why people treat you like dirt."
"Oh. Well. Um, can we see what's behind that door now?" The Tramp gestured to the bedroom door.
"Sure... Thessie! I'm back!" Sonia yelled as she opened the door recklessly, leading the Tramp in.
"What took you so- ...What's he doing here??" Thessalia got off of the bed and pointed at the Tramp with a fierce look in here eyes.
"He was out in the storm! He was going to die! So I pulled him in and saved him!"
"Ok. I see that. But why is he holding my special box?!" Thessalia began to approach the Tramp, fists clenched and intent on regaining hold of the box.
The Tramp shrieked and ran back through the workshop, following by Thessalia with a scream of,
"Give me back my box, you pathetic animal!"
Sonia followed the chaos and found the Tramp cornered at the door clutching tightly on the box and looking off to the side, and Thessalia holding a dress, a needle, and a wooden beam.
"Stop!! Thessalia, what's so special about that box, that you need to assault a man just to get it back?!" Sonia stood firmly at the entrance to the workshop.
"It's because this box is full of stuff that's worth this entire store!" The Tramp said from across the room.
"Shut up, trash! This doesn't concern you!" Thessalia threw a needle at the Tramp's neck, its target the Tramp's jugular. The Tramp shrieked again, threw the box into the air, and dived off to the right of the needle.
Thessalia dropped what she was holding and ran for the box, but the Tramp managed to roll over and trip her, which caused her to fall right in the box's shadow, and then the box crashed right on top of her head, releasing many pearls, ruby necklaces, and many emerald bracelets all over the floor.

First, Sonia gasped, and was about to yell at Thessalia, when she got up with the box still on her head, jewelry still falling out of it, and charged in a random direction and ended up hitting the shirt table and falling on the floor, hitting her head, when she meant to kill the Tramp.
Second, the Tramp got up and ran as fast as he could into the back rooms, shutting the doors behind him.
Finally, Sonia grabbed the box off of Thessali*'* head, threw it away, and looked at her blank face, staring up into Sonia'*.
"Ok. I am fuming right now, and I'd punch you here and now, but that would knock you out and you wouldn't be able to hear what I'm about to say."
Thessalia just laid there on the floor, eyes linked with Sonia'*.
She coughed. "What can I say...? I found it easier to shut your voice that kept telling me to stop binging on buying things by doing the exact opposite." An evil smile crept its way across her face.
"You sicken me, Thessalia. You really do. Give me one good reason I shouldn't throw you out into this storm right now so you can be pelted by rain and blown away by the wind like you deserve to be."
"Simple." Thessalia grabbed Sonia'* leg and pulled hard, which caused her to jerk out of the hold and jump around on one foot, trying to keep her balance. Thessalia got up and said as Sonia balanced herself,
"If I kill you first, I won't need to die. And then I'll pick off that useless excuse for a beggar hiding back there." Thessalia suddenly pulled out a bag of Runes from behind her.
The Tramp came out for a second holding up the mahogany note. "Hey, what's this for... oh my... please don't hurt me!" The Tramp said, dropping the note and running back into the bedroom like a fly from a swatter.
Sonia ran over and picked up the note, while Thessalia charged up an Earth Strike and fired the shot straight at Sonia. Sonia opened the note just as the Earth Strike was about to hit her, and the note absorbed the shock fully.
