What intrigued him the most was the mystery about her: why she always seemed to keep to herself and be very shy about things. He had never seen her shout or show any real emotion other than being annoyed or being bored, like she would rather be somewhere else. He had always wanted to ask her what she might've been looking for, but he knew it was too late now. All he could see was blackness, and he felt things growing dense and hard to imagine. His thoughts of Irtia were growing cloudy and unfamiliar, and the memories were shrouded and flew away as the life was evaporated from his body.

----

Levantris was almost done with the safe; he had managed to get all six locks open and had figured out the safe's combination by using the stethoscope that Nali had conveniently packed in his clothing. Now all that was left was the number pad, which he didn't have *any* idea on how to work.
"Well, now... let's see if..." Levantris hummed for about half a minute, and the crescent scar glowed with the black light, and encased only the safe and Levantris. He saw that the safe was still the same, although the number pad's colors were inverted, the black numbers now white on a black keypad.
"That doesn't help!" he groaned, and then he punched the number pad in anger. The numbers popped out of their positions on the pad and the landed on Nali's body. Levantris shrugged, and hummed again, the black light retracting into the scar on his hand.
What was left of the number pad was only little stubs poking out from where the numbers used to be. Levantris got a knife out and stabbed the little stubs repeatedly. The stubs broke off and then the entire metal panel where the number pad was fell out of the safe, and made a loud thud when it landed on the bricks.
The safe slowly opened, revealing about sixty small, black switches with engravings next to them in a fancy writing.

Levantris knew what this was: It was a way to light up all of Jipalar by simply flipping a bunch of switches.
"Ha! That's easy! Thank you, stupid Jipalar Warehouse! At least *something* is going decently tonight!" Levantris rubbed his hands together and then began to flip on every single switch to the right, except for the ones that were already flipped to the right; obviously the ones to the room that he was in.
--
Irtia had been sitting in the darkness for all this time. She hadn't gotten off of the same crate that she had been resting on, her legs crossed and her axe on the crate. Suddenly, sixteen flames appeared at the top of the room, lit from an unknown source that might've been Pa*uet.
The flames were shaped like a chandelier, and eight were orange, while eight were white, giving the room a unique blended color. She got up, taking her axe in hand, and walked to the edge of the room, and peered out.
Orange and white flames were lit all along the corridors, and the blended light was coming from each and every room in quick succession after one another, like a flash fire.
'Well, isn't that nice. I wonder who's lighting all of these fires. Pa*uet must've really wasted the last of his Fire Runes pulling off such a stunt, seeing as he used a lot melting that small hole in the wall to get us in.' she thought, and then stepped out into the hallway, feeling rather calm and laid-back as she surveyed each of the rooms.
Some of them were untouched, while others had wooden pieces of crates littered everywhere and the crates' contents scattered about as well. Some of the stuff didn't look that appealing -- bronze armor and dresses were the only two things in the crates in one room, while one room contained nothing but mime gear and berets.
'It seems the thieves have really had their fun.' she thought, coming to a junction at the end of the corridor, that went either left or right.

'Still, I wonder where that huge boom came from. Even Pa*uet couldn't have set off a magic spell *that* powerful -- not without seriously injuring himself in the process.' Irtia decided to take the right fork, and heard someone rummaging in one of the rooms ahead.
She peered in, and noticed that a skinny thief in Rogue armor was emptying out a crate full of sacks. He cackled softly to himself, and then grabbed an untouched crate and began to exit the room, when he saw Irtia looking in curiously.
"Oh snap!" he dropped the crate and just stared at her, standing at the only exit that he had. He was unarmed, and even if he *did* have a weapon, he was sure he wouldn't win against the woman in Dragon chainmail and skirt armor, holding a vicious Dragon Battleaxe.
"Don't wet yourself. I'm not going to attack you -- not unless you attack me first." Irtia's voice was commanding, and it struck fear into the thief. He was shaking in his boots, and began to reach for the crate when he said,
"D-Does that m-mean I c-can just t-take this c-cr-crate? You won't d-d-do anything to me?" the thief tentatively picked up the crate and began to approach Irtia slowly.
"Nah, not really. Just don't tell Pa*uet or Sevan because then they'll get on my case. Ok?" Irtia winked at the thief, and then he darted out as fast as he could, nearly crashing into her as he did so. She laughed hard as she watched him run; it always amused her when spineless guys ran away from her.
Irtia followed in the direction of the thief, running after him to see where he was going. She didn't have much else to do, and it had been a while since she had gotten to Jipalar, so she decided to check what was going on.
"Whoa!! That's insane!" one of the Jipalar Guards exclaimed as he watched molten steel fly everywhere, landing on the roof of what was still intact, and near the guards, who watched the skies from any flying debris.

"I must admit that is *quite* the display of power, but we have a job to do! Get in there, now!!" the leader shouted, and the guards rushed inside the warehouse in single file, toting what appeared to be oversized blowguns with a handle sticking out on the bottom of them. They were jet black and looked like smaller versions of the bazookas.
"Now we have some fun." Pa*uet whispered to himself, preparing to ambush the guards when they came in. He ran out of the room he was in, that had its northern and half of its western wall melted from the explosion.
"Hey! You! Stop right there!" one of the guards aimed at Pa*uet, and the other nine guards ran off into Jipalar without even noticing that he was there.
He blew into the gun quickly and it began to heat up, much like the bazooka, and then he pulled the trigger, sending a huge fireball out of the other side of the gun.
"Oh, please." Pa*uet immediately threw a ball of water at the fireball, and it neutralized the flame, but the rock was still solid, and it hit in the stomach and knocked him to the floor.
'Argh! I expected that. Why didn't I counter right?' Pa*uet got up immediately and dusted himself off. The guard immediately fired another fireball out of the huge blowgun, but Pa*uet was quick to know what he should do.
"Try this, experiment!" he shouted as he whirled around, a little whirlwind forming around him. The fireball got caught in the current and was spun around until it was chucked right back at the guard, still flaming hot.
The guard was also quick, and immediately rolled out of the way of the mirrored fireball, which landed on the gravel outside and then burned out, turning back into a big lump of tin ore.
'Interesting, a mage...' the guard thought, and blew hard into the gun this time. He waited for a second while Pa*uet stopped spinning, as he was beginning to get dizzy.

"Perfect!" as soon as Pa*uet stopped spinning, he fired the gun: a huge fireball, larger than the first two, hurtled at an atrocious speed towards Pa*uet.
"Oravil!" Pa*uet barely managed to recite the small spell in time as he felt his Rune bag get very light, and the huge fireball phased straight through his body without doing any damage. It landed outside, where it smoked out again.
'I can't go on like this forever. I need something simple yet cost-efficient to take him out.' Pa*uet thought, and looked inside his Rune bag. Only enough for about two or three more casts of Holadia Scatter; he would have to use them very wisely.
"Grr! Why won't you die?!" the man blew into his gun one last time, and fired the last shot from the black blowgun.
Pa*uet dodged to the side, jumping quickly, and the shot barely caught his robes, but it was enough to set them on fire. The bulk of the shot hadn't been enough to bowl Pa*uet over, and so flew into the gravel again.
"Ack!" Pa*uet immediately applied the last of his Water Runes to his robes to extinguish the flame.
"Well, old man, if I can't take you with this, perhaps we can duel hand-to-hand! Graaaaaagh!!" the guard shouted as he tossed the gun to the side and charged at Pa*uet.
"You are too easy, little rebel! Holadia Scatter!" Pa*uet charged the energy and released it, but the guard had seen the attack before and dived for Pa*uet's ankles. The diamonds were almost low enough to cut through the guard's skull, and in fact sheared through the top of his scalp, releasing blood off of the top of it as the man flipped Pa*uet.
"No!" Paquet shouted as the man plowed through his ankles, and sent him flying into the steel floor. His knees hit it hard, and a cracking noise was heard from one of his legs as Pa*uet's head smashed into the hard floor. Pa*uet screamed in pain and fury; he had really wasted too many his Runes on those rather puny Black Arms, without even finding the leader.

The guard howled with anguish as he reached for his head, feeling the wet, warm touch of his own blood. Pa*uet was able to spin around on his good leg, although he had such a massive migraine that it was making it hard to remember any last magic spells that he might've been able to use on the man, who was temporarily stunned.
"But... but no! Hmmmm..." Pa*uet chanted some words quickly and silently as the man got up, growling and snorting in anger. His eyebrows were furred and about to run into his eyes from how low they were going, and his teeth were clenched hard.
Pa*uet threw his bag of Runes up in the air, and then the Runes all spilled out as the man tried to crush Pa*uet with his huge figure.
The magical rocks hit him on his head wound and on his back, and landed on Pa*uet's legs and even knocked him on the head. A green glow was coming from the Runes as they disintegrated into dust, and as Pa*uet was hit by the Jipalar Guard, both of them had a green aura around them. Pa*uet could feel his migraine receding and his patella snapping back into place, and the guard felt his head wound close up and the hair covering it regrow immediately.
While the huge man was on top of him, Pa*uet managed to strengthen his fingers and poke him right in the eyes, which caused him to release his hold on Pa*uet and reach for his irritated corneas, rubbing them. Pa*uet felt his youthful strength aiding him, although it wasn't truly what it was decades ago. He punched the man in the fists as he was rubbing his eyes, which caused him to groan and fall back.
"Ha! Bet you wish you had a full helm, eh ugly?! Ha ha ha!" Pa*uet managed to push himself and squeeze out from under the man's weight, and darted off as fast as he could. That last spell he had used to heal them both had used up the last of his Runes, and even if he had newfound strength and stamina, he was no match for any of the Jipalar Guards without his magic.

Yeah... Sevan died. Well, I suppose there should be that trumpet song that's played whenever troops fall in battle and are remembered, so...
*insert sad song played by a solo trumpet right here*
Plus, there's been quite a lot of fighting lately... and you're gonna see more and more of that as this chapter goes on. Don't worry, it actually *ends!* :P

The thief was a fast little jellyfish, Irtia had to admit. Even with that huge crate that had more inside of it than the thief had in his entire body, he could move really swiftly with that cargo. She followed him and followed him, until his steps began to slow down as he was running out of energy.
'I knew it. You can't run forever, spineless.' Irtia chuckled softly as the thief slowed to a walk, and a huge, burly guard suddenly appeared at the very end of the corridor he was walking down.
"Oh shoot! The jig is up!" he shouted as he dropped the crate where he stood, turned around, and then crashed into Irtia, unaware that she was there. She was only knocked back about an inch from the skinny thief's body, and she didn't even feel much.
He was on the ground while the burly guard was blowing into a black, huge, blowgun that looked like it had a growth on the bottom of it.
"Aaaaaaah! Why are *you* here?! I thought you said you wouldn't hurt me!!" the thief shouted, putting his arms in front of his face in fear.
"I'm not! I was just curious to see where you were going!" she shouted in reply.
"Why don't you both just shut up and get what's coming to you!" the guard called as a huge, flaming rock was flying towards Irtia. The thief shrieked and hit the floor, his body spread out so that the boulder wouldn't hit him, while Irti*'* face tightened up as she viciously swung her axe to deflect the ammunition.
It was shattered on impact with the axe's sharp edge, and lost its flame as the pieces of it hit the steel wall.
"Dang! Arrrr..." the guard blew into his gun again as Irtia hopped over the thief and the crate, ran a short distance, and then jumped to the left. The guard fired his gun just as Irtia jumped to evade it, and the rock flew past the thief and the crate and landed on the steel floor.

Irtia was silent as she delivered a blurry, critical, vertical jumping slash with her battleaxe to the guard, who wasn't quick enough to avoid the axe tearing through his armor and into his skin, cutting off his right arm.
The guard screamed as he fell to the side, watching his arm hit the floor as blood flowed from the hole and veins were left hanging from it as well. His head smashed into the steel wall, but since he was wearing a helmet, it didn't hurt. He wouldn't have been able to notice a simple headache over the intense, deafening pain that came from the little stubby piece that remained of his right arm anyways.
"You're a demon! A demon!!!!" the guard screamed, spitting everywhere as he struggled to reach out for his gun, which was still held by his severed arm.
"Hmm!" Irtia delivered an amazingly swift downward cleave to the man's neck, cutting cleanly and flawlessly through the little neck attachment of the man's armor, instantly staining the other side of her axe in the man's fresh blood. It gave the painted red of the Dragon battleaxe a more vivid, true color, as if that was what the color of the axe was truly supposed to be.
The headless and one-armed body fell to the floor with a thud, a puddle of the crimson substance promptly flowing out smoothly from the hole at the top of the body.
The head of the man was shocked and paralyzed with fear, terrified that a woman could have such rage in her attacks, moving swifter and cutting stronger than a demon could have.
At least that's what Irtia thought it was in his eyes, as she kicked it to the stomach of the body and picked up the severed arm.
Levantris walked out of the room, to see that Beraw and Sevan were lying on the floor, blood surrounding them and their bodies lifeless.
"Hmm. Ah well." Levantris said that as if it was nothing, and then turned to Sonia, who was still curled up with the arrow in her stomach.

The arrow was moving in and out slowly, showing that Sonia was still breathing.
Levantris reached down and tugged on the arrow slightly, but Sonia didn't budge. He wanted to simply rip it out, but he wasn't stupid like Savlon. If he just ripped it out without having any way to patch it up, she would bleed to death before they got back to... no, wait! There was a quick portal to Varrock in the very next room! Still, he didn't want to leave until he was certain that the Black Arms had something to get back home, and that the Phoenix members had little or none.
"You'll have to wait." Levantris picked up Sonia, noticing that she was asleep again, probably tired from the pain of the arrow and other things. He carried her into the guards' room and put her on one of the soft beds, the one closest to the portals.
When he turned around, he saw a Phoenix gang member rush into the room with a sack full of random trinkets, that made little spikes in the sack.
"Thanks for the loot." Levantris immediately took out an Adamantite knife from his belt and threw it at the man, who immediately dived to the side with the sack still in hand. The man reached for his belt and retaliated by throwing out some Runite knives, three coming at Levantris.
He simply squatted quickly, and the knives whizzed by and flew into the portal behind him, making a soft phasing sound as they shot through the magic energy. Then, he darted and grabbed one of the mattresses from the beds as the Phoenix threw more knives at him, which all missed.
Levantris grabbed the mattress and held it vertically as he ran towards the Phoenix gang member, who threw a couple of knives before realizing it was futile and then tried to dive to his left as Levantris threw down the mattress. It caught the man's legs, and caused him to fall facing up and let go of the sack.
