"I'm okay I guess. My shoulder still hurts." This was a lie, I just wanted her to massage it for me.
"You're a terrible liar," she said with a smile. She knelt behind me and started rubbing my shoulder anyway. It felt fantastic.
Just as I started to drift away, her voice softly spoke out. "I've been meaning to speak to you about the other night."
I knew exactly what she was talking about, the night with the vodka.
"Oh, er, what about it?" I asked awkwardly. I was still unsure if it was a mistake.
"Well, things like that don't just happen, do they?"
"I'd like to think that."
"So would I, but what I mean is....Well, do you think some things are meant to happen?"
I thought for a couple of seconds before I answered. "If the last few days have taught me anything, then it would be that anything is possible. I've never been a believer in fate as such, but with the Gods being what they are, it's altogether possible."
"Yeah, I suppose. So where do we go from here?" Her grip on my shoulder had suddenly become tighter, as if she was tense about something.
"I know where I'd like to go," I replied as I looked at Rose.
She looked back and smiled. "Me too."
Rose sat down next to me and we watched the sun set over Draynor.
I awoke the next morning to the sound of chatter outside the window. I wearily lifted my head and contemplated getting up. Rose was next to me again, however this time I knew it wasn't a mistake. I listened to her soft breathing as she slept.
Eventually I dragged myself out of bed and put on some clothes before walking over to the window to see who was outside.
It was Reanna, but she appeared to be alone. Then who was she talking to? I tried to listen in to what she was saying.
"I don't know what to do. All of my life I've had clear goals, but when Tuoni is gone, I'll have nothing. I've only known these guys for a short time, when the deed is done who will have need for me? I'll have to go back to the streets I suppose.
