Chapter 22: A Promise Forever (This isn't going to be the longest chapter. However, it probably is my favorite part is the overall storyline.

)

After the battle at the capital Meiyerditch, Marcello exited the castle of Lord Drakan after a conversation with the Angel of Death, Abaddon. He had an extreme look of intensity upon his face. Regardless of any emotion, his anger was not hindered. He glanced upon his comrades and sheathed his blade. His eyes were lost, but still remaining crimson red.

"We need to go to Varrock." he stated.

Vezyfher raised an eyebrow. "And why exactly?" he questioned. He crossed his arms. "Our mission isn't done. We need to receive the Orb of Darkness."

Marcello eyed Vezyfher. "There's something there I need to finish." his voice sounded rather unsure.

The elf raised both his eyebrows. "Oh? So, why so unsure? You definitely don't seem so certain of yourself."

Marcello's head goes down, his eyes fall down with it. His hands were unlocked. About a minute of silence passes, his hands locked back together and his intense eyes met back into the eyes of the elf. "I am sure." his voice changed completely. "There is something there that must be corrected."

Logan looks upon Marcello. "And what might that be, Master Marcello?" he asked. Marcello glares wickedly at Logan. His crimson red eyes bled through Logan and melted him down. Logan's head went down and a silent breath bushed out of his body when he gazed into Marcello's eyes.

Marcello's eyes glared heavily upon Logan. After a minute of silence, his eyes returned to Vezyfher. "Do you have a Varrock teleport tab?" he asked the elf.

Vezyfher nodded his head and gently pulled out a bag of teleport tabs. "But before I give you these tabs. Tell me what are you wanting to correct, and how would this benefit myself?"

Marcello closed his eyes and let out a sigh. His eyes opened up and glared iniquitously at Logan. His eyes returned to Vezyfher about ten seconds later. "Salomon is not the man he claimed he was so I've been told." he replied, glancing upon his own left hand. "I saw him kill my mother. The enemy opened my eyes to my ignorance."

Vezyfher smirked. "So, you finally see it, eh?"

Marcello shook his head. "Yes. However, I am ashamed for how absolutely foolish I was." the left hand he glanced upon clenched together. "And that's why I'm going to do whatever it takes to stop Salomon."

Arabella sighed. "I just feel terrible that I actually believed him.." she sighed.

Logan glances at Arabella. "I suppose we all make mistakes.." he mumbled.

Marcello looked at Logan when he spoke. His eyes were alert, but still full of anger. Marcello glances back at Vezyfher after another twenty seconds pass. He extended his left hand. "Can I have those tabs?" he asked.

Vezyfher nodded his head and gave the bag to Marcello. The Assassin Hunter opened the bag up and gifted everyone with one. Everyone lifted theirs into the air and smashed it at the ground. The tab kisses the ground and crackles into several different sizes of pieces. A strong force gripped each individual and pulled them into the ground.

As they appeared in Varrock, they quickly realize that they are all scattered. Vezyfher was with Arabella. Darien was with Logan. And Marcello was alone. He stood before the jaws of the castle. The air echoed with thunder and rain. Darkness swallowed the skies and blinded the sun's radiant grace. White blinding rays of flashing lighting roared across the sky as if Saradomin was unleashing his indignation.

His eyes stared fearfully at the window where Salomon would stare out. He was a shadowed figure gazing upon him. A revealing hammer of nature's fury revealed the man behind the mirror; his face concealed by a raven's masquerade. Behind the red eyes that made him see, a pair of emotionless green eyes was seen for a split second.

The rain slaps against Marcello's pale skin, his teeth took a slight lock. They froze in place with his eyes dead focus on the man that gazed upon him through the shield of glass. The masked man disappeared into the darkness behind him afterwards. Marcello's intimidation turned into haste. Was he afraid of what terrible fate that laid before him?

Was Marcello Saif-Al-Din fearful of the answers he was about to hear? These thoughts ran through his mind a million times, but he knew he could no longer run away from it. He hasted towards the door and blasted it open like a ram. He was as strong as the thunder that erupted across the sky. Once inside, he quickly made haste towards the prison cells. The highest leveled prison cells.

Once he got there, he wasted no time in rushing towards the door in which closes off the most dangerous criminals from the rest of the world. The door was left agape. When Marcello glanced behind the door, he saw the body of a Holy Kingdom prison guard. Blood was smeared all over the walls that lead from the end of the holding cells hall to the head of the lifeless guard.

His blood oozed down the wall and onto the tile floor like wet ink. Some of his limbs were missing, and they looked like they were cut off by a blade. Marcello looked puzzled, so to gain his thought back he rushed over to the cell that Ba'al, his brother, was kept. The door looked like it was forcefully opened, and by a very strong force.

The door was so badly damaged that it looked like it could fall down at any given moment. Marcello gently and slowly pushed it open. It whispered a painful squeeze. With it's final cry, it dropped to the floor when Marcello entered the room. Marcello glances upon the chains that once bounded his brother to this place. They seemed to be broken, literally the chain and cuffs were in pieces.

Suddenly, as Marcello was inspecting - a shadow overcasts the light that kept Marcello from being blinded by overwhelming darkness. Marcello's crimson red eyes glance back at him. The man behind could not be seen, he was concealed by shadow. All that Marcello could see was his glowing crimson red eyes and the blood dripping from his White Longsword.

Marcello stood to his feet, his continued glance upon this person pressed on. "Brother?" he mumbled to the man.

"Have you finally realized the error of your ways?" he replied.

Marcello quickly nodded his head. "Yes." he stated. "I have."

"Are you willing to fight Salomon?"

"Yes, I am." he threw his left hand on Ba'al 's right shoulder. A smirk overcame his face. "And we'll fight him...together."

He glanced upon the face of his smiling brother. He nodded his head, and turned his back on Marcello. "Let's go." he mumbled.

"Gotcha." replied Marcello. The two twin brothers, Marcello and Ba'al, walk out of the prison holds - ready and strong - like the brothers that they are.

Sarah wandered the halls of the castle by herself. The rain outside hammered the window. The battle between warm and cold collided in the heavens with booms of thunder and flashes of lighting. Sarah held her daggers close, she wore a mask of fear on her face. A black robe cloaked her, and black hood concealed her face.

She shuffled her eyes left and right. Until a pair of footsteps echoed from across the hallway caught her attention. She turned around to face whom was the one causing them.

But no one was there. But yet these strange echoing footsteps still rumbled across the hallway. Sarah began to look confused. "Show yourself!" she shouted.

"What have you gone and done to yourself, Sarah?" said a familiar voice. Joshua appears before Sarah, his arms crossed and a sad look grabbed hold upon his face.

Sarah quickly realizes the person before her. "J-Joshua?!" she shuddered.

"Answer me." he growled. "What were you thinking?"

Her head went down. Joshua could no longer see her face. "I thought you were dead..and Raven offered a way to save Visdin's life. I had to offer myself to the Raven Reapers in exchange..." she mumbled. "I'm really sorry..Joshua..I didn't know.."

Joshua walked over to Sarah and embraced her. He smiled. "It's okay. Really. Everything is going to be okay." he assured. "Just as long as we stick together, we will be fine."

"Thanks Joshua."

"Now, now. That's not how assassins act, now is it?" a familiar voice said.

Suddenly, Joshua feels an intense pain in his back. His teeth quickly grit together. Sarah had just stabbed him in the back. "Sarah..!" he growled out in pain.

"I-It's not me..!" she cried out.

Lev was across the hallway. His hand out in front of him, a demonic smile upon his face. "Now that's more like it..haha." he laughed.

Sarah lets go of Joshua and attempted to stab him in the gut. Joshua backflips to dodge. He doesn't draw his weapon. "Dammit," he said in his head. "Lev is controlling her."

Sarah, against her control, charges at Joshua. She readied her daggers as her legs raced towards the snow white haired man. When she was close enough, she swings them at Joshua. He quickly backsteps when she swings them to dodge. "Sarah! You've got to fight it!" he shouted.

"I'm trying!" she replied.

Nyx appears right beside Lev. A sadistic smirk cloaked her face. She watched the two battle, amused. "Aww..that's not how couples settle their problems." she mocked.

Joshua continued to dodge each attack. But then Sarah made a very quick move that he did not expect. She punched him right in the face and slashed her dagger right across his upper torso. His teeth tightly locked together, falling to the ground. Joshua's back kisses the ground in a swift thud. His head whiplashes a bit. Nyx teleported right beside Sarah.

Sarah moved her eye's focus on the Albali. "Let me go..!" she growled.

Nyx crosses her arms and glances at Sarah. "But this is how we assassins work. Our feelings aren't our weapon." she replied.

"I'm not going to kill Joshua!"

Lev teleported over. "Whoever said you had a choice?" he said.

Joshua glanced up at Sarah. "Don't do it!" he shouted. "You can fight it!"

Sarah sluggishly lifted up her daggers into the air. She glanced down upon Joshua as a sad look bushed across her face. She looked over at Lev, who had a confident smirk on his face. She quickly swings her dagger at Lev. The hand that was out in front of Lev is forced back, Sarah had broken out of his control. Lev quickly teleported away along with Nyx.

Sarah's attack missed. Lev and Nyx appeared beside each other about twenty feet away. "Tck, tck, tck." said Lev. "You've made a terrible decision, Sarah."

Sarah extend her hand out to Joshua, who took hold of it. Sarah pulls him up to his feet with a gentle smile gracing her face. A smirk grew on Joshua's face when he saw her smile. His smirk quickly goes down and he returns his focus upon the enemy before the two.

"She didn't make a terrible decision." shouted Joshua. "You both made a terrible decision when you joined the Raven Reapers."

Nyx smirked. "I only wanted to join because I got to kill cuties, like you." she replied with a wink.

Lev smirked. "This is what happens to traitors." he puts his left hand out in front of him. She held onto her head and her eyes widened as far back as they could. Joshua grabbed onto her shoulders with a look of concern on his face. "W-what's the matter?!" he yelled.

"Janak.." she mumbled softly. "Janak.." she repeated. In her vision, she was in a dark room where she was only able to see herself. She heard voices to her and Janak speaking with each other. She wandered aimlessly in this darkness. She shuffled her head all over the place, looking for the source of these nightmares.

Until she saw a familiar person. His snow white spiky hair, his emerald green eyes, his white trench coat, and the strange red marks on his right arm. Yes. It was Janak in her illusion. She stared at him for a moment, shocked to see him again. She slowly walked over to him. "J-Janak..?.." she mumbled. "Is that..really you..?"

His emerald green eyes were faded, with no life left in them. "It is." he replied, his voice seemed rather angry.

She could not believe her eyes. "I've missed you.."

He shook his head. "You don't miss me." his voice raised. "You've never missed me."

"W-what are you talking about?.." Joshua was able to hear her talking as she was talking in real life as well, though she could not see the real world but this dream. He shook her violently. "Sarah!" he shouted out to her. "Sarah!"

Sarah was unable to hear Joshua's cry. Her eyes were down and her head hung low. "..I don't understand.." she mumbled. "I think my feelings for you are..fake?.."

"I don't think." he growled. "I know." his words were as cold as a arctic night.

"..!.."

"How do YOU think I feel?! I gave up my life for yours, and all you have done is join the very assassins that took MY life!" his hands locked together. "All this grief you feel isn't real. You want it to be real, but inside - you truly are satisfied that you are alive and I am not."

"..I would never..!"

"Liar! I can see through you Sarah Wolfsbane! You're happy that I'm dead! I'm better off dead in your thought!"

She shook her head. "No..no, no, no..!"

"Yes. It is true. I died because I wanted to protect you. I died because I loved you. But now I see the error of my ways. You never cared about me like you claimed. You only used my feelings to save your own life."

"..No..that's not true..."

"The liar is the first one to go into denial." his emerald green eyes glare viciously at Sarah. "Admit it! You murdered me! You're a murderer!"

"..I..I..." In real life, she raised up her dagger like she was going to impale herself. She hurls her dagger at her stomach, but Joshua blocks it and instead make the dagger impale himself. The illusion fades from Sarah's vision. And she saw what she had done. Her eyes widened as she removed her dagger from him.

"Joshua!" she cried. He dropped to his knees and Sarah follows him. She grabbed onto his shoulder and he glanced up at her with a familiar smile. A memory of Janak smiling the same way replays in her head. This felt like this happened before in Sarah's head as it did happen before - with Janak.

She glanced upon Joshua. "You..saved me.." she mumbled.

Joshua looked upon Sarah. "I told you it would tear me up inside if I allowed that to happen." he replied.

Lev smiled. "I believe I've solved my puzzled feelings." he said.

Nyx glanced upon Lev. "How so?" she replied.

He walked forward, gazing directly at Joshua. "Seems like deja vu, eh Janak?" he said.

A look of shock grew on Sarah's face. She turned to Joshua, who's expression did not change after Lev calling him Janak. Joshua stood to his feet and sluggishly drew his Oubliée Rêver. She stood up next to him. "J-Janak..?!" she mumbled, her voice in utter shock as she shuddered to say his name.

A cocky smile grew on Lev's face. "Am I right, Janak? Did I blow your cover?"

Joshua glanced back at Sarah, who still seemed like she was in utter shock. Her heart pounded in her chest like a army of drums. He moves his left hand on Sarah's right cheek. A gentle smile grew on his face. "I'm sorry for dying on you, Sarah." he whispered to Sarah. "But I made you a promise that day. Remember?"

Back during that day, the day Janak died. "No matter where you are, no matter how far. I'll be there to protect you...always and forever.." These words echoed in Sarah's head.

Sarah placed her right hand on top of his hand. "Janak.." she mumbled. She quickly embraced him. "I missed you so much!!"

Janak wrapped his arms around her. "It's okay." he mumbled. "I told you I would protect you always and forever. A promise is forever."

Meh, that wouldn't be to hard to pull off! All Janak did is respawn in some location and change his name to Joshua. Why didn't Sarah add him, and see his former name in the first place...... WHAT A NOOB! O_o

So what's with random running around characters!? Was Ba'al out for a stroll? Was Nyx buisy playing with her Legos?! Was Aries roleplaying a terminator when he said "You must be eliminated"!?!?!?!?! :o

Overall, I did not see the whole look-i'm-one-guy-the-other-guy-you-loved-was-dead-but-hey-look-by-the-way-i'm-the-same-guy-respawned-i'll-tell-you-in-some-wierd-vision-but-until-then-i'll-act-like-a-stalker-because-stalking-you-is-fun-but-overall-i'm-the-same-guy thing coming!

All in all, great twist. twist....twist, twist, twis-
