\+/-----------------------------------------Theories and Ideas---------------------------------------------------------\+/
------------------\+/Theory of Magic\+/---------------------------
These are just some ideas that popped into my head, so I decided to post them on here, enjoy my ramblings :P
Runes contain the essence of whatever it is based on, such as fire runes contain the essence of fire, water runes water etc. mortals could use magic without the use of runes if they learnt how to call upon these elements without the help of the Rune Alters and runes. Rune/pure essence is the only known item(exept the chaos wand) which can 'absorb' elements. There could be many other elements which haven't been discovered yet simply as of their not being an alter to create the element at, such as 'sand rune' for example.
Now onto my next subject, how does teleportation work? For a basic covering a will have to begin with the placing of Realms and 'Pocket Realms'. imagine the realm of runescape is a flat disc in the middle of nothing. Now, imagine another nearly identical one above it, but everything on it is opposite. Now, surrounding these 2 discs are other opposite realms. Every Realm has an opposite exept 'Pocket Realms'. Now, lets go to back to the Realm of Runescape and Scaperune. Now, 'above' Runescape is the Abyss, which is a kind of station connecting all the places of runescape together. Now, above the abyss and below Scaperune, is the Void, which is quite similar to the abyss exept that like all other realms, its contents are opposite to the Abyss.
Ok, now back to teleporting. When you want to teleport, you need to have the essence of law, or balance. This probably shows the movement across a single realm, to keep balance in all the realms.

(this is because if you were to go into another realm, you may act completly differently or even be against the physics of that realm to actually exist, so it would create imbalance)Now, when you go to teleport, you are transported to the abyss where you are 'beamed' down to the place which is represented by the runes you used along with the law rune. Now, one thing I find hard to understand is why do you go to the Abyss while teleporting? Well, one thing I have come up with is that Runes are closely related to the Abyss, maybe as the Abyss is where the elements of the runes are contained, or maybe simply as that is how the physics of Runescape works. Now, the next thing is, why can Evil Bob come from a different dimension (Scaperune) to ours while we have to stay on ours, unless of course we use the fairy rings? Well, as Scaperune is absolutly opposite to runescape, the way of teleportaion is different, so most likely using a different type of rune to teleport, or maybe don't use the to teleport at all. if we go with them using an opposite type though, we must think, what is the oposite of law/balance? Well, its Chaos/Imbalance. Well, this would make sense, as that rune would do the opposite of the Law. Now, if you were to use a Chaos/imbalance rune for teleportation, you would most likely be taken to the 'Void' Which has 2 exits, unlike the abyss, one connecting to Runescape, one to Scaperune. So, if a Runescape player were to somehow learn how to use a Chaos rune, he/she would be able to transverse different realms without the use of fairy rings.

Thanks if you took the time to read this, and i know i've probably made many mistakes and didn't make sense at some parts, but i hope atlease 'some' of tihs made sense

Yep, i am refering to the Void Knights Void. I agree also that this stuff is very mind boggling, even i found it hard to take in what i'd written, even though i was the one to write it. Anyway, m happy it seemed to make some sense to people

edit: Heres a simply put version of my above theory.
-----------------Theorys name:Unknown-------------
Runescape sandwich:
Scaperune above(bread)
Void below Scaperune(filling)
Abyss above Runescape(filling)
runescape at bottom(bread)
Law for travelling across Realms, chaos for travelling between realms.
Voids has opposite content to Abyss and runescape has opposite content to Scaperune. All realms in disc shape.
Scaperune uses chaos runes for teleportation, Runescape uses law runes.
Fairy rings use unknown magics.
spirit realm is Basically just the Spirit Beast's concept of Runescape, and seeing as he is twisted and such, he decided to make it opposite to Runescape :P

Double edit: Maybe the Stone of Jas is what allows items to absob the elements, such as maybe rune/pure essence contains or has been 'infected' by the stone of Jas so as to allow it to take in 'Magical power'. This may be why its the 'creator' of magic as it is the thing that allowed beings/items to take in magical properties, not that it 'is' magic.

-------------------\+/ The Strange Old Man\+/--------------------
1. He is Gargon, and Gargon is not who we thought he was(i.e being a farm hand was only a cover up)
2. It's Gargon again, but after seeing that his way of life had ended, was driven mad. As he went around raving and riving, he was found by Silske, who makes him keeper of the Barrows. he also might have told him some secrets about something which drove him even crazier.
3. It's someone who we do not know about who knew the family before their deaths, most likely someone with some strange power.

I personaly favor number 2(my theory )Anyway, also it is suspected that it may rase the chances of a Barrows item from Barrows, though this can't be proven(Barrow brothers may count as revenants. Also, people seemed to have surprisingly good chances of Barrows items while wearing it)

--------------------\+/Neite the Cat\+/----------------------

While in Sophenam i saw Neite the cat and decided to have a chat with her. This is what she said:

You: You know, you remind me of someone.
Neite: Who? Someone glamorous I bet, or perhaps regal.
You: Neither! I was thinking you remind me of The Devourer.
Neite: Hisss!!! What? Hiss!!!
You: It's Kind of Ironic, isn't it?
Neite: What is?
You: Well, the fact you are in direct conflict with a deity which really seems quite matched to your beliefs. Not to mention you work with or for a half-dog god.
Neite: Don't mock me, I do that to seek vengance.
You: What did you say?
Neite: Hiss, nothing.
You: Your seeking revenge on the Wanderer?
Neite: It's a long story.
You: I have time; will you tell me?
Neite:Hmm... Maybe... Why not? Do you know the Wanderers real form?

You: A lady with red hair and eyes?
Neite: No, thats not her true form. She has only taken to adopting a form similar to this recently, altough shes had many other forms since we rose up against her.
You: Who's we?
Neite: Her Acolytes and her priestesses.
You: were all her priestesses and acolytes cats then?
Neite: No, I wasn't always a cat.
You: You wern't?
Neite: No, i used to be human. In fact, i used to be one of her chef priestesses...but that was before we rose up.
You: Why did you do that?
Everyone dies.

Neite: The Devourer was so in love with death and destruction that she even started destroying her own worshipers. We tolerated this until she even started to destrouy her own temples and clergy.
You: So what did you do?
Neite: The last of her priestesses gathered and cursed her. unfortunatly she cast a spell of her own, condeming us to an eternity of walking runescape in her form.
You: So she's a cat then?
Neite: She's as much of a cat as Icthlarin is a dog.
You: What curse did you cast upon her?
Neite: We cursed her so that her name would be forgotten, that any corporeal body she adopted would soon cast her out and never again would she gather willing worshipers.
You: Why didn't you just destroy her outright, there and then?
Neite: We could of, but at that point our thirst for destruction was well sated.
You: Your curse seems not to have worked as well as you'd planned. She is still remembered, she can still adopt a form and she can still recruit supporters.
Neite: Hmm...She is not remembered, only her fowl deeds are. As for adopting a form, I rekon the next time you come across her, she will have been forced to find a new host.
You: She is still able to recruit followers.
Neite: Well, the quality of the help she has been forced to take has been quite poor recently; You failed in the simple task of retrieving a jar for her.
You: Excuse me! I had to fight through Hordes of Mummies, Scarabs, fiendish traps and more to get that jar. besides that, my extra-ordinary level of willpower won out.
Neite: Im sure your cat did most of the hard work.
You: So why is the wanderer still scared of cats then?
Neite: Well, because the few remaining of us still posses some degree of the powers she gave us.
You: So are there many of you left?
Everyone dies.

Neite: I refuse to answer that; The less that people know about this, the safer I am. Recently I have noticed that The Devourer has focused her attentions more on cats. I think that she might believe that if her original followers die, the curse will lift.
You: Surely all she has to do is wait until you all die of natural causes?
Neite: It is not in Icthlarin's best interests to let us die, so we wil never die of natural causes.
You: Oh! It must become a bit of a drag just hanging around.
Neite: Spite sustains me.
You: Gulp! I hope i never get on your bad side.
Also, she talks about the Dragon Kin being the True ancient race of this earth, and they 'harnessed' the power of dragons to make them do their bidding, they didn't create them. Also, which really interesnts me, she says the Dragon-kin manipulated the Dragons' eggs and made them their own, meaning that they could reproduce in this way!
While on Desert info, Neite says that the Sect of Scarabas tried to 'undermine' Elindis, so she buried them. The Sphinx however says that they tried to dig under the River Elid, but were caved in. So maybe this is suggesting that The river is Elindis? Also, there is a chest in the Prymid from Icthlarins little helper which gives 50 coins, which is a bit random. No idea why its there.
Everyone dies.

------------------\+/Zarosian Age Ghosts\+/---------------------------

Valdez:

Player: Hello!
Mysterious Ghost: H-hello!
Player: So what’s up?
Mysterious Ghost: I cannot believe it! You can see me? You understand my words?
Player: Sure can. So why are you hanging out here?
Mysterious Ghost: My tale is one of woe… No doubt you will have little interest in hearing it… Though it has been so many moons since last I had company in this endless non-life…
Player: Well, actually I would like to know what happened to you to turn you into an invisible ghost. If only so I can make sure it doesn’t happen to me…
Mysterious Ghost: My name is Valdez. I served my Lord Saradomin faithfully for many years, as an explorer of this strange land we had been brought to. I remember the day this curse fell upon me clearly… I had just discovered a huge temple, hidden below the ground, of one of Saradomins patriots. I am unsure who built it, or why they had left it seemingly abandoned, but inside I located a great treasure… It was the godsta** of Armadyl. Oh, how I rue my choice that day!
Player: Choice?
Mysterious Ghost: Aye, stranger. I chose that day to take it so that my Lord Saradomin’s power and prestige could be increased by its possession. A god-weapon! Do you have any comprehension of the difficulty and rarity in obtaining such a thing? To find such an artifact of power just lying around, it is almost incomprehensible… So it was there in that deserted temple that I made my choice. I took the staff, and left that temple for Entrana immediately. This was the cause of my cursed state.
Player: What, you mean you gave it to Saradomin and in return he cursed you??? Seems kind of ungrateful if you ask me…
Everyone dies.

Mysterious Ghost: No stranger, you misunderstand completely… Firstly my gracious Lord would never treat anyone in such a manner; If he felt it was beyond my bounds as a mere mortal to hold such an artifact, he would simply have commanded me to return it to whence I had claimed it, and I being eternally loyal would have obeyed without question…
Player: And secondly?
Mysterious Ghost: And secondly; I never managed to pass the artifact on to my Lord… The vile thief Rennard accosted me as I made my way to Entrana, and after defeating me with a sneak attack, plundered the staff from my person, and left me for dead… I do not know what became of the staff, but I can feel in my very bones whatever its final fate was, it is somehow related to this curse upon me…
Player: Wow. Tough break!
Mysterious Ghost: I am sorry to bore you with my tale stranger, please allow me to compound my rudeness by asking you for one small favor, small to perform?
Player: Eh, I won’t make any promises, but if it’s nothing too annoying I guess I can help you out.
Mysterious Ghost: Many thanks stranger, this existence tortures me… I need to find Rennard and if he has the staff yet reclaim it, or find out what hideous deed he performed to curse me so! I have nothing I may offer you save my piece of clothing, please take it as payment…
Everyone dies.

Rennard:
Player: Hello. You must be Rennard.
Mysterious Ghost: What be this? You both see me and hear me, and also know my name? Tell me what devilry brings you here, and speak quick about it afore I gut you like fish!
Player: Well apart from the fact I ain’t scared of no ghost, I am here because I have spoken to Valdez.
Mysterious Ghost: Valdez? Who be that? Some foul necromancer?
Player: No, he was a ghost I met near Glarial’s Tomb. He seems convinced that the artefact you stole from him is responsible for him becoming cursed to be an invisible ghost. Seems like he might be onto something too, given the state of you.
Mysterious Ghost: A curse ye say… Aye, that makes sense… And there was I thinking the fate be the fault of the thieving and murdering I spent me life a-doing… So it all began the day I stole that staff, ye say? Aye, that be a story I have never told another soul.
Player: Why don’t you tell me what happened? I might be able to help…
Mysterious Ghost: well, I was making me merry way along, having but pulled of a glorious jewellery heist from a bunch of stinking dwarves…
Player: Hey, that’s not the way to talk about dwarves! Some of my best friends are short!
Mysterious Ghost: Ah, yer misunderstand me lad/lass, I wasn’t generalizing about the whole dwarf species, I had just stolen a bundle of jewels from a very specific group of dwarves who happened to have an odious stench about them!
Player: Oh. Well I guess that’s okay then. Please continue.
Everyone dies.
