\+/-----------------------------------------------THE GODS---------------------------------------------------------------\+/

------------------\+/First Age\+/---------------------------
What we know of the first Age is very limited, but we know that Guthix arrived on a plane created by a greater being, and decided to develop upon it, by getting more races to come to Glienor. The first as far as we know were the Elves and Dwarves, in which we know the Elves came through the 'World Gate'. Later came Humans who came through another portal. They were intruduced into Runescape by Guthix who appeared to them in Human form in order to make sure they didn't distrupt his balance in this world. he then showed them Runes which he had created which allowed Humans to use Magic.
-----------------\+/Second Age\+/--------------------------
In the Second Age, Icthlarin summoned the Mahjarrat into this world, but they soon joined forced with Zaros who with their help built a massive empire which contained 7 impressive fortresses (see Ancient Magick's teleport for names). The empire lasted around 2000 years, but then Zamorak, one of Zaros' generals who was only mortal then, rebelled against Zaros along with other Mahjarret and others, and with the help of the Staff of Armadyl Zaros was sent to another realm by Zamorak and Zamorak became a God(see later Ages Section for info). So ended the Second Age.

-----------------\+/Third Age\+/---------------------------
In the Third Age, the God wars began. The Third Age lasted around 4000 years, from the Betrayal of Zaros to the end of the God wars and Guthix's waking. The main gods that took part were Bandos, Armadyl, Saradomin and Zamorak. All the gods had a part to play in it. The God Wars ended when Guthix woke again and made the 'Edicts of Guthix' which stopped the Gods from being able to walk on Runescape again, and only being able to have influence through their followers. Guthix is then said to have gone off to weep, somewhere in Lumbridge Slayer Dungeon. He then left Gielenor for a long slumber.
---------------------\+/Forth Age\+/------------------------

The Forth Age lasted 2000 years, from the Edicts of Guthix to the discovery of Rune Essence. As the Gods were now gone, life was easier and safer for mortals, though some races now strove for power as it was safe to do so. To make things worse, Necromancers were raising armies of the undead to destroy everything in their way. During these times Humans were just a small minority and had to travel constantly from place to place to survive. After many years of this, Humans decided to create permanent homes in places of resonable safety, though they were still attacked by other races. As of these attacks, some of the inhabitants decided to cross the River Salve in hope of a safe place, and even though there were legends of great evil over there. In the Year 1937, a bridge was built over the River Lum. Towards the end of the Forth Age, Humans stumbled upon Rune Essence which could be used to make runes(for explanation of this read later story). This allowed the average guy to be able to use magic without being well learned in the study of magic, thus allowing Humans to become the dominant species in Runescape. Thus ended the Forth Age.

------------------\+/Fifth Age\+/----------------------
Runescape is currently in the Fifth Age, the 'Age of Humans'. This is the present Age, which started from the discovery of Runestones. Due to our superiority, our towns rapidly increased in size and power. Misthin was expanded in size and Kandarin and Asgarnia were founded. In the year 159 of the Fifth Age, a battle took place on the River Lum where King Dantuine of Misthalin was slain. A grand church was built in memory of him and he was buried there in a tomb in the graveyard. The only bad thing that happened during the Fifth Age was the invasion on Misthalin by the Fremennik, who hated and feared magic as it was of an unknown source, possibly of the gods. Luckily they were destroyed before they reached Varrock but not before they killed all the Imcando Dwarves. They settled down in a small village on the other side of the River Lum to Varrock.
The Tower of Magic was built as a place to study magic, but in the year 70 Fifth Age it was burnt down by Zamorakians who were not allowed to enter, due to their religion. In the year 165, King Roald re-made a town that was northwest of Varrock, which is now called Edgeville. It used to be called Paddewwa and was a fortress of Zaros in the Second Age. It had been destroyed in the God Wars. The current year is 169

--------------------\+/The Gods of the Desert\+/-------------------
Tumeken: Tumeken is the god of the Khadrian Desert and the main god of all the desert gods. His wife is Elindis and his children are Icthlarin and Amascut. He is said to have created all the other desert gods in a dream.
Elindis: She is the god of fertility and growth. The River Elid is named after her and the only known place of her worship is Nardah. The colours which represent her are yellow and blue.
Icthlarin: He is the demi-god of the dead and is son to Tumeken. He was also the original leader of the Mahjarret.
Amascut: also known as 'The Devourer', she is the godess of destruction. Originally she was the godess of rebirth but somehow her mind was warped by seeing the Mahjarret being brought into Glienor. It was after the warping that she became known as the Devourer. Her True form is that of a cat. At some point she used to be well worshipped and known but over time she became soo destructive that she started destroying her own Acolytes, priestesses and temples. The Acolytes then joined together and cursed her so that no one would remember her, she would have no following and she would not be able to sustain a body for long. The Devourer then cursed them so that they would wander the world forever in her form. The Devourer now located in Polvinech in the shape of a red haired and eyed girl.
Apmeken: He is the god of pleasures of the mind and is worshipped by the Menaphites. He appears in multiple guises, but always has the head of a monkey, baboon or ape. The monkey's head represents skilfulness, the baboon's comedy and the ape's wisdom. Apmeken was created by Tumeken when he saw the people of the Bandit Camp fighting with the Bedabin Camp, and next to them were monkeys playing together happily. He called one of the monkeys to him, and blessed him with some essence to make him a god. The people saw this and decided to resolve their conflicts.

---------------------\+/Gods of the Desert(continued)\+/----------------------
Crondis: She is the godess of 'physical' pleasures, and always has a crocodile's head. She is mainly worshipped by Menphites. Mainly cooks, hunters and sybarites worship her but they are looked down upon as they are considered lazy by citizens of the desert. Crondis was created when Tumeken went to the city of Ullek. He saw that everyone there was greedy and spoilt so he left and went into the nearby swamps. There he saw a crocodile that was hunting something for food, not just for pleasure, so he added an essence of himself to it.
Het: He is the god of health, both physical and mental. He is one of the most loved of the demi gods, though he is of late suspected of being the cause of the Plague on Sophanem. Tumeken was wandering the Northern Desert where he met a giant of a man, who seemed as though of stone, holding the Khadridian Pass open for all those who wished to escape from the desert. Tumeken then gave him an essence of himself.

Scarabas: Scarabas is the god of solitude. His followers are the Scarabs and Kalaphites. It is said that the Kalaphites were made when Scarabas was banished and his blood was spilt over scarabs. Scarabas was made when the god Tumeken was hiding from the fierce sun in a tunnel and saw a scarab that tried avoiding him many times but eventually was caught. Tumeken added his essence to him so as to make an example of what happens when you live in solitude.

The Camel God: A largely unknown desert god who the historian Aristarchus claims the Mahjarrat Akthanakos based his appearance on after his arrival to Gielinor.

-------------------\+/THE MAIN GODS\+/------------------------
Sardomin: He is the god of order and is one of the most well known gods. He is also the most worshipped, as you can tell by the amount of alters! The symbol of Saradomin is a four pointed gold/silver star. He came into existence during Guthix's sleep and took part in the god wars. He also claims he created Gienlor, though more evidence shows that Guthix did. We also know, from the God Letters, that he fears Zaros.
Zamorak: he is the god of chaos, evil and war. His symbol is like a fork and a 'w'. Zamorak is well known in Runescape, but not as well as Saradomin. He was a main participant in the God Wars. He used to be a mortal, a Mahjarret, but he was turned into a god when he stabbed Zaros, but like Saradomin, he still fears Zaros. He is the most disliked of the gods by the gods due to his evilness and his stabbing of another god.
Guthix: is the god of balance, nature and tranquillity. Some say that Guthix is the only real god, while others have just got powers, though there is no proof. Guthix only wants balance so it is neither a he or a she. Guthix, after creating the world, went into a deep slumber, but when he woke the God Wars were taking place, so he wrote a treaty stating that the Gods could not interfere with things that happen on Runescape. All god wars must be fought in the gods realms. Guthix is a shape shifter so has no real form. Guthix is supposed to be the strongest god, and Jagex have backed this up.

Armadyl: He is a god of peace and justice, but is hardly known, and then only by a small minority. His main following are in the God Wars dungeon, which are said to be his most beloved of creatures on Runescape. When he thought them dead, he was said to have run from Runescape in sorrow.
Everyone dies.

--------------------\+/Main gods(continued)\+/--------------------
Zaros: Zaros is the god of an unknown thing(commonly thought to be of evil). Zaros is often refered to as the 'god of Ancient Magicks' and also 'The Empty Lord.' Zaros existed during the Second Age, but was killed by Zamorak when Zaros tripped into the Staff of Armdyll which Zamorack was carrying it impailed them both, passing Zaros' powers over to Zamorak, turning him into a god. It is suspected to be still alive as first Robert the Strong and now Bob the cat. The only Mahjarret who are still loyal to Zaros are Akthanakos and Azzandra, and Silske is suspected to still be loyal too.

Bandos: Also known as the "Big High War God" is the god of war, worshipped by the Goblins, Ogres, Hobgoblins, Orks, Ourgs, Jogres, Mogres, . Bandos were forgotten by all other races after the God Wars, but his own, primitive races continued to worship him. In the 5th age, he tried to come back to Gielinor using a member of the Dorgeshuun tribe as his avatar, his chosen commander. This plan were, however, foiled by the goblin and an brave adventurer.

Seren: Seren is the godess of the elves. She was the one who lead thge Elves from there realm to runescape and convinced them to build the crystal city of prifddinas. She is the original provider of crystal equipment and is said to be in everything that is Elven crystal. The only known place of worship in the upper floor of the town of Llyeta
Marimbo: Marimbo is the god of monkeys. He is said to have been a pet of a god, most likely Guthix, but he one day found a potion that was made by his master, drank it, then became full of wisdom. And so he decided to escape his owner. He managed to escape, and went to the island which is known as Marim. He then became the lord of the monkeys who lived there and gave them knoledge.
Everyone dies.

-----------\+/Rough Tale of Varrock and Arrav \+/------------

Varrock was the first city(known in the Forth Age as Avarrocka) of Misthlin. It was built upon the ruins Senntisten and Saranthium, which were the worlds first cities. They were the capital of the Zarosian Empire in the Second Age. Varrock was founded in the Forth Age when some unknown travellers discovered a boy in the forest there, who is later discovered to be Arrav, who was strong but did not know his parents and could not speak. They thought this to be a good omen and so set up camp there.
After the founding of Avarrocka, although the lands were fertile and the woods good for game, the Population of the city struggled to survive. The reason for this was the constant attacks from goblins, which were considerably stronger than those of today. If you do not include this fact though, Avarrocka was relatively peaceful under the rule of the Elders of Avarrocka. The elders were the original rulers of Avarrocka before they stepped aside to allow a lineage of kings to rule instead. During this time, the boy was taught their way of life and even managed to catch the legendary White Stag.
Ten years after finding the boy, they decided he would need to earn a name, so sent him out of the city telling him to find his name. He wandered far from the village and in a few days he came upon a Goblin camp where he found out that the Goblins were planning to attack Avarrocka. But then he was discovered, and many of the Goblins shouted 'Arrav!' to him, an old Goblin curse, and so then the boy slay every one of those Goblins, thus saving Avarrocka from certain destruction. When he returned, the Elders named him Arrav, as he was a 'curse' on the Goblins. Over time, the city grew larger, as more people heard of its existence, and so goblins left it alone.
Everyone dies.

---------------\+/ Rough Tale of Varrock and Arrav(continued)\+/----------------

A while after Arrav's defeating of the Goblins, a new threat arose, Zemouregal, one of the Mahjarret and a powerful Necromancer, appeared to Arrav in a dream. In his dream he told him how he was going to destroy Avarrocka by using him as his slave. Arrav told The Elders about his dream, and for seven days the Elders discussed it, and finally, thinking it was a bad omen, decided that Arrav should leave Avarrocka at once. One of the oldest members of the Elders, older then Avarrocka itself, remembered a dream about a shield from another world. They knew the task would be impossible, so they sent Arrav on this quest.
Arrav wandered the world for many years, coming across many strange beasts and he also met some Imicando Dwarves at the base of Ice Mountain who claimed knowledge of the shield and so he stayed with them for a while. After some time though, he was forced to leave, as the Dwarves were worried his presence would alert Zemouregal to their home.
Finally, deciding this task to be impossible, Arrav returned to Avarrocka, but in his absence, it had been burnt to the ground by Goblins. He found some people left to the west of Varrock, and with a few soldiers, he marched onto the Goblins camp. Upon arrival, he saw neither side would benefit from a battle, so he made peace with the Goblins, and the Goblins stayed there in their camp. The Goblins of Goblin Village, are decendants of these Goblins.
And so Avarrocka was rebuilt and trade was very good, but then Arrav had another dream, where Zemourgal told him that he had failed and he was still coming. When Arrav woke, he ran for 6 days straight, to the Imicando Dwarves. When he arrived, and he had told them of their dangerous fate, they decided to give him the shield he had sought for so long. And so knowing the invasion was imminent, he left for Avarrocka.
Everyone dies.
