-Third Challenge-

It’s time for the much anticipated team challenge! A few days ago, I asked Wintry and Lamentar (as winners of Round Two) to take turns in picking members of a team. These teams will be a large part of the next few challenges. They are as follows:

Now, into the details of the challenge. This is a team immunity challenge. Each team member will be required to individually write a story, with advice from team members if desired, to reflect a specific theme. One member of each team will be paired against another from the opposite team, going head-to-head in a duel. Each pair will have a unique theme, as detailed below.

Stories will have a maximum limit of 4000 characters (two posts) on them.

After judging each story, I will decide a winner from every pair. The team with the most individual victories in these pairs wins the challenge, everyone in that team earning immunity. The five to lose this challenge will be the only ones to vote in this round, eliminating two people. This means that it is imperative to win this challenge for survival.

I have randomly drawn names out of a hat to decide who is matched up against who, and their theme.

Wintry Elf – Nyyrikki V
Theme: The element of air.
WolfLord7777 – The Level
Theme: The element of water.
Archive – Paccy IV
Theme: The element of earth.
Xanthian93 – Ogdred
Theme: The element of fire.
Dieidiot0 – Sir Lamentar
Theme: Life and death.

Using the theme in your entry, as always, in relation to RuneScape, will be regarded higher than those that do not. Entries will be graded on creativity, integration of theme and quality of entry. Referencing another element, apart from the one you've been given, may also bring down your entry in comparison to others.

-The Voting, Round Three-

All members of Team Plectrum now have two days to vote for the person they wish to be eliminated. The two people with the most votes will be knocked out of the contest. They can only vote for members in their team, which is as follows:

As winners of their duel, Archive and Wintry Elf’* votes will count as two each. This will be vital in determining who gets eliminated.

As always, you can send your vote to me via the in-game private messaging system, or posting it on the thread. Any tie in the voting will be decided by me, based on the entry for this round.

Any contestant wishing to play a hidden immunity will have to do so during this round, either posting it in the last hour or so on this thread, or by messaging me in-game at any time over the two day duration.

The deadline that all votes must be received by is Saturday the 9th of July, 12:00, GMT.

-Challenge Four-

Continuing on with a team concept, challenge four will capture this in a slightly different way. This round, you shall be competing both within your teams, as well as against the other team. First, I must shuffle the teams around to get even numbers. This was done from random draw (name out of a hat).

Ogdred has now been moved from Team Calamus to Plectrum.
I am also “flipping” a member of each Plectrum and Calamus to the other side.
Archive has been flipped with Sir Lamentar.

As such, the new teams are:

Now, for the elements of the challenge. Not only will your entries be paired up with another member of the opposition, but you will also be competing within your team for the top two positions. To gain immunity, you must simply place in the top two of either side. On top of that, if you win your matchup you will gain a vote equivalent to two in this voting round. This means that you can get both immunity AND a stronger vote.

The theme for this round is COLOUR. (or COLOR for you Americans)

As always, you can interpret this as subtly or as heavily as you like. It can be literal or metaphoric. This entry will be judged on creativity, use and interpretation of the theme and quality of entry.

The character limit, as always, is set as 4000 or under. This means that your story must fit into two posts. RuneScape based entries will score higher than real-world based entries.

-The Voting, Round Four-

As the bottom two of each team, Ogdred, Xanthian93, Archive and Paccy IV must now face elimination. Sir Lamentar, Wintry Elf, The Level and Nyyrikki V have immunity. This will be another simple voting round, but the following three have double votes:

- Sir Lamentar
- Wintry Elf
- Paccy IV

This means that all eight contestants can vote this time, and the two with the most votes will be eliminated. As always, votes will be accepted both on the thread and in-game as a private message. Once you have voted, you cannot change your mind; I will only accept the first name you state.

The deadline will again consist of two days. As such, no votes will be accepted after the 18th of July, Monday, at 12:00 GMT.

Any hidden immunities must be played during these two days, via private message or at the last minute on this thread.

Keep up the good work, everyone. As you can see, the lowest score wins in this dividing system. The six point difference between Xan and Arch is incredibly close, as the scores should theoretically differ by a greater margin the bigger they get.

-Fifth Challenge-

This is another team immunity challenge. Team members will be paired with the opposition in duels, the team with the most victories earning immunity. This round will differ from the third in that all contestants vote for who gets eliminated, rather than just the losing team members themselves. I have shaped the new teams around the recent placings:

Team Calamus:

- The Level

Team Plectrum:

- Nyyrikki V
- Archive

In these teams, the pairs will be as follows:

The Level – Nyyrikki V

As for the theme for this challenge, it is my personal favourite out of all the rounds so far. All contestants will be required to write a maximum THREE POST (6000 characters) story that revolves around an oxymoron, which should consist of only two words (articles can also be used in addition to these two). For example, “bitter sugar”. This oxymoron MUST be the title of your story for it to be accepted.

Twisting of this challenge will result in lowered marks. Your story must use the oxymoron as a base to build on, and not as a simple object or such in the entry. This round will be judged on the oxymoron and its use, creativity and the quality of your entry. Again, RuneScape-based entries will score higher than those based in the real world.

Two contestants will be voted out of the losing team.

DEADLINE: Monday the 25th of July, 8:00, GMT.

-The Voting, Round Five-

As the losing team, the entirety of Team Plectrum must now face elimination. This also includes The Level for a forfeited round. Every member of the contest, of both Calamus and Plectrum, can vote in this round. Any of the following can be voted for:

- Wintry Elf
- Nyyrikki V (Forseti V)
- Archive
- The Level

As a reward for the best entry amongst those in threat, Wintry has a double vote, and the opportunity to “beef up” another contestant’* vote to also include a value of two. You can opt to not use this, however, as it could ultimately backfire. You are free to communicate with something about it, but I take no responsibility for any negative effect it may bring. Just to clarify, you can use it on any contestant, whether they have voted or not, without any confirmation that they allow it.

The following two also have complete immunity, and cannot be voted for:

- Sir Lamentar
- Xanthian93

This is the final opportunity to play hidden immunity. Any immunity not played after this voting will be removed from the contest. In the event that a contestant plays immunity, they can choose to negate a single vote from any contestant, or choose two people which they believe to have voted for them, discounting their vote. If it is played on two people that do not vote for them, it will still count towards the person that they vote for otherwise.

The two people with the most votes will be eliminated.

The deadline will again consist of two days. As such, no votes will be accepted after the 27th of July, Wednesday, at 12:00 GMT. If all votes are received before this time, and the circumstance is okay, the results will be revealed earlier. The same private message or thread voting rules apply.

-Game Twist Two-

This applies to the current voting round. Based on the positions in the most recent challenge, I will draw a single name from a hat which will negate a vote for that person in the current elimination. The number of names that each person gets is as follows (with Lamen and Mitch not involved):

The Level: 1
Nyyrikki V: 1

While this is not a major twist, it can certainly influence votes at this stage in the contest. I will announce the winner five minutes after posting this.

The winner of this twist is Archive. As such, a single vote will be removed from the coming elimination if cast towards him.

-The Penultimate Challenge-

This is an individual immunity challenge. It reverts back to a more standard format, with great emphasis on placing highly. There will be a single winner of this challenge, who will get to immediately choose one more contestant to sit with them at the final elimination. From here, a voting will ensue to eliminate one of the two contestants who aren’t put through to this seventh round. As such, winning will give you a great opportunity to play with strategy.

The theme for this round is an interesting one, and is similar to that of the fifth round. Each contestant has THREE POSTS (6000 characters) maximum to write a story based around a HAIKU POEM. This poem should appear at the top of your first post, either as the title or immediately under the title, followed by your entry. The only requirement for this poem is the standard five syllable, seven syllable, five syllable line structure, and no measures need to be taken to make it fit expectations of nature.

As stated above, the winner of this challenge wins immunity, and a spot in the final. They can then choose one of the three other contestants to also give immunity, filling the second spot in the final. The voting round will then eliminate one of the two who aren’t immunised.

This challenge will be judged on creativity, choice and integration of haiku, and quality of your entry. I want to put an emphasis on abstract entries for this round – I don’t mind real-world plots this time, either.

DEADLINE: Wednesday the 3rd of August, 08:00, GMT.
