Jayson stirred from his slumber; something was different in the Druid’s Valley today; for the first time since he had arrived in the valley, all the animals were silent. Jayson, versed as he was in the ways of nature knew what this meant; someone the animals were unused to had entered the valley. Moving quickly and stealthily, he made his way to the valley entrance and hid in the undergrowth.

Soon he caught sight of three people approaching; one was a girl in the robes of a druidess, who was leading the way. The two remaining people were a girl in Guthixian dragonhide armor, and a young man in some sort of silver armor with a green trim. These latter two were talking to each other in an animated fashion, and seemed to be having some sort of argument. As they got closer, Jayson managed to make out some of their conversation:

“Regardless, the way he’s been behaving, it’s almost like he wants to have both,” the girl was saying.

“He’s just indecisive,” replied the youth, “And as frustrating as it is, you must admit that he pulls it off in an endearing way.”

“Endearing or not,* sighed the girl, “He and I have known each other longer, so he should logically go with me.”

“Logic has very little to do with love,” observed the youth, “Besides, you haven’t gone nearly as far-”

“Shut up!” hissed the girl.

“A wise decision,” commented the druidess, “Since you’ve been going at this since we left Taverly three days ago.”

At this, both the girl and the boy seemed embarrassed and fell silent.

“Quite an argument,” commented Jayson, emerging from his hiding place, “May I ask what it was about?”

“How much did you here?!” questioned the boy,

“Just from when your companion said ‘he wants to have both’,” replied Jayson.

“Oh, should I fill him in, then?” asked the girl.

“I don’t mind if he finds out about my part,” answered the boy, “But Alex might be upset if you explain the whole of our argument to this guy.”

“Touche,” sighed the girl.

“Please excuse them,” said the druidess, “You must be Lord Jayson, chosen of Guthix.”

“I am he,” replied Jayson.

“An honor to meet you sir,” said the druidess, “I am Herba, Kaqemeex’s daughter, and these are…”

“Genevieve Roux,” said the girl, nodding at Jayson, “Only, please call me Jen, I am a ranger in service to Guthix.”

“Chris,” said the boy, “No last name, since my family disowned me when I left the Monastery they had forced me into.”

“Ah, I see thou hast found thy companions,” commented a man in a green cloak as he materialized next to Jayson, “Well done Jayson.”

“My lord!” exclaimed Herba, dropping to a knee.

“Wait…” said Jen, “Is this person really… Lord Guthix?”

“Indeed,” replied the cloaked man, “Only, there art no need for formalities here. Please rise, Herba.”

After the druidess did so, the Lord of Balance spoke again, “Now that thou art all here, I shalt reveal to thee the reason that I didst call thee here.

In ages past, whilst I slept, two sets of weapons were made; one set of “good” weapons one set of “evil” weapons. The intruder gods fought long and hard for these weapons; for their power wert great. In the end, an incubus known as Mephos didst seal away these weapons, and I, upon my awakening didst increase the power of that seal by binding it to five great artifacts.

However, yesteryear a series of event led to the destruction of that seal, and now, the weapons hath been released once more. Should even one fall into the hands of mine lesser brothers, it is all too possible that the godwars would start anew.*

*So, you want us to find and secure these weapons, I assume?” asked Chris.

“It art as thou sayeth,” replied Guthix.

“Great, we know a secure place,” said Jen.

“I knoweth of which thou speaketh,” said Guthix, “And indeed, that place art most secure. Bring the weapons you find there.”

“As you wish.” said Chris.

“Where is this place, exactly?” asked Jayson.

“I would like to know as well,” said Herba.

“They shalt tell thee as thou journey to thy next destination,” said Guthix.

“And where would you have us go?” asked Jayson.

“The Druid’s Library,” replied Guthix, “There thou mayeth find the clues to where the weapons lie.”

“The Druid’s Library?” asked Jen.

“It is a secret place in Taverly,” answered Herba, “I can show you the way.”

“I’ve been there before as well,” said Jayson, “But amongst all those books, can we actually find something about the weapons?”

“It’s the best place to start,” answered Herba, “But shouldn’t we make haste, the other gods are on the move already, aren’t they?”

“I sense that Seren, Saradomin, and Bandos hath already put groups into motion,” replied Guthix, “And Armadyl and Zamorak hath called troops to themselves, but as of yet, hath not met with them.”

“What of Zaros?” questioned Jayson.

“I still hath not encountered this Zaros of the Second Age,” replied Guthix, “As such, I do not know what I should be looking for… Therefore, I do not know if he hath brought his troops into motion or not.*

*Zaros will be a tricky opponent,” commented Jayson, “We must hurry and leave as soon as possible.”

“Let thy companions rest first,” said Guthix, “They hath traveled long to reach this place and must be tired; after a night’s sleep, then thou mayes* set out.”

Far away from the Valley of Guthix, in the rebuilt Temple of Senntisten Parsis sat before the altar of Zaros, waiting patiently for all the Zarosians he had called for to arrive. At last, Orcris walked into the Temple, dragging Ruko along with him.

“I’m surprised you of all people have arrived last,” commented Parsis, “You are normally quite efficient Orcris.”

“There was… an issue,” said the half-elf, motioning at Ruko. For his part, the warlock had noticed a offering bowl on the altar of Zaros and was staring at it in awe. “Not again,” sighed Orcris as Ruko made his way to the bowl and began examining it as if it were the most interesting thing in the world.

“What in the august name of Zaros are you doing?” questioned Parsis.

“My lord,” replied Ruko, “Have you not noticed? This simple majesty of these most sacred objects we lowly mortals call bowls!”

Parsis shot Orcris a questioning look, and the half-elf sighed. “He ticked off the apparent second in command of the Cult, and well… this is what happened as a result,” said Orcris.

Parsis sighed to himself. “A powerful form of hypnotic suggestion it seems,” he said, “Ruko, I could do this gently, but that would spare you a lesson about respecting those in authority. So…” The old man motioned with his hand, and Ruko was hit with a bolt of lighting which sent him slamming into the temple wall. When he finally stood up, Ruko seemed to have recovered from his obsession with bowls. “Have you learned anything from this, Ruko?” asked Parsis, “When you go as an emissary of Zaros, conduct yourself with proper dignity and respect, lest you dishonor your master’s name.”

“My apologies,” said Ruko, bowing.

“Well, if you have learned, then I no longer hold your… indiscretions against you. On to business. Orcris, you have the report from the Cult do you not?” asked Parsis.

“I do,” replied Orcris, “It seems that they have found some… rather unsettling news. Only two of the artifacts remain on Gielinor, the others have apparently been taken to different worlds.”

“How can that be?”

Orcris did*’t recognize the speaker, she was a girl in her late teens with short, black hair, dressed in finery.

“Ah, I should introduce you,” said Parsis, “Since you know everyone else here… This is Melanie, a Zarosian, and an Asgarian merchant. She has been funding many of our efforts since Taiyama sided with Guthix."

"In answer to your question Melanie, during the god wars, some of the gods called upon various other worlds to supply aid. It is quite possible some of these non-native warriors acquired the weapons we seek. Given time, I can track down the worlds these weapons are in… However, for now go after the ones on Gielinor; did the cult tell us anything about them?”

“The sword Armadyl made is here,” said Orcris, “As is the bow made by Zaros. But as for a location… all the Cult knows is that the Temple Knights have information on them.”

“Then perhaps I can be of help,* said a warrior Orcris recognized as Isamu.

“How so?” asked Parsis.

“We caught a few temple knights snooping around our fortresses,* said Isamu, “I gave them to Rue so he could play with them.”

Parsis’ eyes widened. “Are they still able to even talk?” he asked.

“Don’t worry,” said Isamu, “I made sure Rue knew he had to keep them alive, capable of speech, and not mess up their memories, just in case a situation like this should arise.”

“I see…” said Parsis, *What other restrictions did you give him?”

“None,” replied Isamu, “It was his birthday present.”

Parsis was silent for a moment, then said, “Regardless, Orcris and Usha, contact Liam since he should know what questions to ask the captured temple knights. Isamu, you of course are going with them. Taika, Ruko, Melanie and Weva, return to your earlier duties and await further instructions. This meeting is adjourned.”

Sorry for the late add. Any questions, comments? Oh, and the next add will be the last of this chapter. "He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. Oh Oh Oh, Question!: Is James coming back? he was my favourite character (besides Orcris of course :P )

Nice adds though. So many new characters, its a shame they will all end up in some horrible twisted fate that only happens in fairy tales...

Can't wait for the next add, keep up the good work.

Interesting. Not sure if I myself would have handled Ruko so patiently, I cannot stand incompetence. Good to know where the Zarosians stand. Looks like a few other familiar characters showing up. And another mentioned. Hmm. Well its still nice to see how they get to this point, I mean for all we know they could be undead or being impersonated. Also Aqua I have a question if I might submit another character, he's the most famous of the characters from my DnD campaigning so far. A friend of my wants to see him famous. He's rather like Iban on the battlefield, but much more solemn and serious otherwise(he did get his soul ripped out). Though I'm not sure at what point in his character development from the campaign you would want him. Either way he'd been an unaligned merc(or possibly a person seeking to usurp the throne of God of War(twas his epic destiny)). Not sure about that, thought I'd ask and if you wanted to fit him in or thought you could use him then I will. It is really up to you,Orcris is a splendid enough character to cover for a lifetime of story bios. I still laugh at his origin(my post not his character background).

Nyx Reaper: I actually wasn't planning on it; the person who submitted James at first was someone I know in rl, and am not very fond of. Incidentally, a few months after submitting that bio he sold his account (the account was banned later on). However, since you asked, I think I will slip James into the story again.

Orcris <insert random suffix/prefix>: Hm, two characters in the story are of your own creation, and I do have an large number of characters already. On the other hand, in Bandos' current state, the position of Runescape's god of war will probably be open soon...

Well, submit the bio, I might add, I might not.
