In the hall of the gods Sardomin, Armadyl, Guthix, Bandos, Seren, and the shadow of Zaros could only stare at Falador in silence.
“An ancient demon...” gasped Saradomin. Turning to Zaros, he bellowed, “How dare you awaken Terrethus!”
“Neither I nor my followers awoke him,” said Zaros, coldly, “We are well aware of the stupidity of doing such a thing. Only an IDIOT would actually release one of the ancient demons.”
Saradomin noted the emphasis on the word “idiot”, and his blue skin turned several shades paler.
Seeing Saradomin's expression, Guthix sighed and said, “It seems you are right, that fool is standing in the cavern, violating my edicts. I'll bring him here.”
Zamorak materialized on his throne with a bang.
“Zamorak!” shouted Saradomin, “What is the meaning of this?! I knew you were a fool, but I never thought you would actually awaken one of the ancient demons!”
Visibly shaken, Zamorak stuttered, “I th-th-thought he would help me. Besides, Zaros was going to resurrect him otherwise.”
Four sets of eyes turned to Zaros (Armadyl had his eyes shut, apparently in concentration.)
“You are mistaken, my friend,” said Zaros, “I know how stupid it would be to resurrect an ancient demon. Why, it require a lot of powerful spell-casters, almost all of whom would probably die, weakening their god considerably. Although, if there was a way to resurrect a demon like that, in Saradomin's territory, where it would wreck havoc, and DIDN'T cost me followers, I might consider it...”
“Especially given what we would have to do to stop it,” sighed Armadyl, his eyes opening.
“To stop it?” questioned Saradomin, “None of our followers are strong enough to stop Terrethus!”
“None of the followers we have in this age,” corrected Armadyl.
Saradomin and Bandos' eyes widened, as they stared at Armadyl in disbelief.
