I'm a little late with this one. This is last week's one. I know it's bad, but I'd like a critique, if you could. Then back to your regularly scheduled programming.

"...beneath stranger stars and stranger skies."

"Why, Mike," Sabrina said, "that's gorgeous!"

Mike blushed at the compliment. "Well, it's nothing much, I mean..."

"No! Seriously!" Sabrina playfully shoved her friend. "You could be an author. You could open a poetry compilation with that."

"No I couldn't. I... I should just give up. I'll never be good at this."

Sabrina turned, staring into his ocean eyes. "That was actually my favorite piece you've ever written."

Mike lightly chuckled to himself. "You know, I wrote it about you."

Silence. The clouds rolled away, and they held hands under the stranger skies.

Why have you turned around?

Don't turn around. There's a lot more fun to be had over here. I invite you, no, I implore you to come over here. Come back to us. Come back to me. Sit back in your comfortable seat, relax in front of the calming light of this screen.

Yes, that's it. Much better, right? Isn't the chair relaxing? Yeah. That beautiful, calming chair. Sink into it. Feel it support your weight. Doesn't that feel nice?

Why should you ever leave?

And a really busy couple of weeks turned into a really busy month or two. School's calming down a bit now, though, thankfully, and life too, so I'll try to get this thread back up and running if there's still interest.

EDIT: Alright, I'll get around to commenting on earlier entries later, but for now, here's a new theme:

Going home .

The Snail’s surroundings slid past the xyloid shell, a coil of faith, to which the vulnerable corporeality shrunk into occasionally for reassurance when faced with a particularly difficult obstacle. The eyes peered forwards, but in truth the Snail had neither direction, nor design, nor raison d'être. It simply lumbered on, seemingly stationary. To the creature, the mottled husk it calls its home acted not only to shield its hoary flesh, but its oblivious mind. The physical burden of familiarity liberated the arduous doubts, the weighty worries, the awkward quandaries from its back… to go on.

Well, this thread hasn't had a real post in over a year, but I really enjoyed participating. Is there any interest in reviving it?
