Saren came slowly to his feet, clenching the wound in his side. The blood was falling to the ground, staining the grass. Even in his pain, Saren couldn't help but notice that this was probably the only place in the deep Wilderness to have grass.

"Come, Saren," beckoned Agaben, who leaped out of the window to face the Temple Knight. "Don't tell me that's it."

Saren's rage boiled. Fighting back the pain, he charged once more, but Agaben just knocked him back onto the ground.

"You're pathetic," Agaben taunted. "Still you fight, as though you have a chance. I have long since been the victor of this battle. Just give up, and let it come quickly."

Kaisen dashed madly through the corridors, hoping that Saren could survive long enough for him to help. Agaben was strong, but Kaisen had a secret weapon, something that Sanfew had given him before they had left Taverly.
It was by lucky chance that Kaisen saw Saren and Agaben in the courtyard out of the corner of his eye. "Saren!" he shouted, and he leapt into the darkness to save his friend.

Kaisen landed in the grass, standing between Agaben and Saren. The mage was dressed in his same old blue robes, and he carried a fire staff with him.
Agaben studied him up and down. "The egg bearer," he muttered. "You should have fled. Then, you might have lived."
"I had to come back for my friend," Kaisen responded adamantly.
"Touching. But still, friend or no friend, you are still going to die. You have ruined my plans, and caused my downfall. I have nothing more to say to you."
"Then we fight."
Kaisen didn't let Agaben get the first strike. He raised his fire staff and blasted a fire blast across the courtyard at the Dark Lord.
Agaben dodged and charged, his dragon scimitar calling out for Kaisen's blood. He let loose a ferocious uppercut, just narrowly avoided by Kaisen.
Kaisen roared and fired another spell. Agaben dodged and lashed out with his dragon scimitar. Kaisen raised his staff and blocked the blade. Agaben expected the wooden staff to snap like a twig.
It didn't.

"The staff was made from wood in the Forest of Isafdar," Kaisen gloated. "Don't expect it to let me down."
Kaisen used his magic to release another fire blast, at point blank range from Agaben. Agaben jumped back, trying to dodge, but it was inevitable.
The fire scorched the dragon platebody he wore, turning it black with ash. Agaben rose back to his feet. He unsheathed his other dragon scimitar. Kaisen was now facing down two.

"Kaisen," Saren said weakly to his friend.
"Yeah?" Kaisen replied, not taking his eyes off **aben.
"No offense, but your chances aren't very good."
"And?"
"So, I want to give you this." Saren tossed a ring to Kaisen. It was a beautiful diamond ring. "It's a ring of life. Just in case, you know."
Kaisen took it and put it in his pocket. "Not yet, my friend. I'm not ready to die just yet."
