The Raven Knight fell still once its skin stopped melting and hardened into a wooden like appearance. Aiden could still see a semblance of genuine terror in the knight’s darkening eyes as he fell to the ground beside it once more, and judging from the way he thought he saw a faint flickering spark moving through its eyes, it seemed as if the vampyre was still conscious in its ‘dead’ state.
A white plated boot obscured his view of the creature’s face, and Aiden groaned involuntarily as he managed to turn himself around to face upwards to see a relieved face of a White Knight. The knight looked like he was still a youth who had barely seen real combat in the service of his city, and his cracking voice all but confirmed it.
“S…survivor over here!” the knight called out to his comrades, who quickly finished their various opponents off and came rushing to his aid. A pair of knights managed to lift Aiden to his feet, but he quickly crumpled to the ground as soon as they tried to let him walk. Aiden turned to look at his legs, and saw a hint of bone poking out from underneath his armor, which was beginning to split apart from the waist down.
“Ah crap,” he muttured. The knights saw what he did, and called for a healer. The response was fast, for no sooner had they finished their call had an elderly woman in white robes and a matching hood hurried to tend to Aiden.
The healer took a look at his legs, poking at bone and plate here and there as she worked her way down his body, which he wasn’t all that surprised to feel was damaged a lot more than he originally thought. He heard something about dislocated spines and broken ribs, but he brushed that to the side as soon as the healer began her ministrations, which included a lot of pain on Aiden’s end from her somehow shifting his broken legs back into a reasonable position.
