Its been over a month since I last posted but I have played here and there when I've had a chance. Despite this not much has been done except for a bit of range training at the Moss Giants.

At the moment I have 43 range but i'm not far away from level 44 this is part of my plan to train up by combat stats to around level 60.

Today I completed another two quests bringing me to a total of 100 quest points. Firstly I completed "Elemental workshop part 2" which was straightforward and had low requirements but a quest done brings me closer to the quest cape.

The second quest I did was "The dig site" which again had low requirements but the herblore xp reward was welcomed. It is a longer quest than I remember most of it was just running back and forth from the examiner to the students.

Tomorrow I hope to do some more quests or go back to training it depends on how I feel at the time but it shall all be in preparation for the quest cape.

I have finally got some more time to play over Christmas something which over the past few months I have not had.

I have completed this year's Christmas event and claimed my rewards for helping Santa. Despite the winter and snowy setting that Varrock is at the moment the site of the Christmas tree in the square was quite warming to see.

I was even able to get some questing done too. I decided to escape the icy winds of winter and set off into the kharidian desert to complete "The golem". It was a simple quest really although for some reason it took a while for me to successfully navigate the desert by foot, even after seven years of playing.

It has been some time since I was playing OSRS, this has largely due to my time being preoccupied with other matters and what time I did have was spent on RS3. However, the winds of change are blowing freely through this thread and clearing away the cobwebs too it seems.

Aside from the annual easter excursions that whisk us of to the aid of the Easter Bunny I have found myself stepping back from questing, for the time being, in order to pursue some much needed skilling. I have taken to locking myself away in the Rogues Den and roasting up all kinds of fish to bump that cooking level up.

I currently have level 79 cooking, with lobsters being my main dish at the moment before I switch up to swordfish at 86. I am rather keen to go for 99 and I can see this eventuality fast approaching. It's odd really, I still remember getting 99 cooking in a similar fashion on my main account many years ago. I never would have thought that one day I would be re-tracing my steps to re-accomplishing the same goals. Every story must come to an end but it's a strange position to be in where you find yourself retelling the story

Recently hit level 87 cooking, it still amazes me how quick the cooking skill is comparatively speaking. I moved to the Hosidius kitchen to make good use of the clay ovens which reduce the level at which you stop burning certain foods. It was a bit of a no brainer really, I am now able to cook monkfish without burning from level 86 instead of 92.

Unfortunately, I am unable to get the cooking gauntlets which further reduce the burn level as I do no quite meet the requirements for the "Family Crest" quest. It's just the 59 magic that's holding me back as I nearly have the rest of them. It's not a colossal task to achieve 59 magic but it is not something that I wish to embark upon just yet.

Monkfish are good to cook, they make you a tidy profit, yield good xp and have fast buy and sell rates on the Grand Exchange. Sharks are where the serious xp is however without the gauntlets I will only stop burning them at level 99. Still I have no complaints sticking with monkfish, I remember back on my main account when I was going for 99 cooking around the 2009 era which piggybacked the era OSRS is set. During those days 99 cooking cost me around 8m, not a terrific amount by todays standards or even by the standards of those times. It was still a sizeable sum and certainly extortionate for a skill that sports little use for those who attain mastery. Who cooks their own food?

Still at it with 96 cooking in the bag and only 820k left until level 97 cooking. It seems as though my journey to 99 cooking is entering it's final stages but even now it is not without its developments. It has been so long since I had properly trained these skills that I no longer know the best methods, even in OSRS where new features have been added causing the game to take a different evolutionary time line.

After speaking with a newly acquired friend I was alerted to Karambwans which give 190 xp and sell for a hefty profit. In order to learn how to cook them I completed "Jungle Potion" and "Tai Bwo Wannai Trio" quests. Short and not very notable but it was nice to journey around karma. I reckon the area could do with a quest to drag us into the region again.

I hope to complete this goal of mine within the coming days, we shall see

======99 COOKING=======

At last, I have achieved my first 99 in OSRS, cooking Karambwan was certainly a good decision and one that made me a great deal of money too. On RS3 cooking was my fourth 99, one which I obtained many years ago now so it does feel a little strange getting it a second time.

Every journey must come to and end and so too much this one however as each chapter draws to its close another begins. I must now turn to my next goal and to be honest I am not entirely sure what that it. I have been tempted to strive towards the quest cape and I am still tempted but I feel that I will shelve it for now.

I enjoy farming and have taken to indulging in tree and fruit tree runs, I am not committing myself to 99 farming or anything but we'll see. Whilst waiting I cut magic trees at the woodcutting guild in Kourend so woodcutting could be another contender or perhaps both simultaneously.

I also completed the "Plague City" quest yesterday so I can use the Ardougne teleport tablets to aid me with my tree runs as my magic level is quite low.

Since obtaining 99 cooking I have turned my attention to woodcutting and farming where the former has financially supported the latter. I now have 83 woodcutting with about 160k until level 84 so levelling has been slow due to cutting magic trees but it is moving along.

Farming has been relatively swift as I now have level 57 which means I can now plant papaya trees. Up until recently there was no sense paying for the trees to be looked after as the cost vastly exceeded the cost of the seeds themselves. Now however I have reached a level where it is now worth doing so.

I don't think I will plant any tree beyond maples or any fruit tree beyond papaya but I will plant the calquat tree at level 72 if I remember correctly.
