Small update this time around

Skilling

Prayer 75 - Got an ourgh bone challenge and decided , hey let's extend it. Took three trips of assorted other bones to get the 10 bones needed which allowed me to bank nearly 30k prayer xp. I buried the zogre bones from the key grind because of their low prayer value.

Got the last bit of xp needed in nemi forest. Feels good to have this requirment down and done

Construction 81 - Thanks to the summer event this was made real easy, it's cheap and cheesy way to level it sure, but i'm happy now that another requirement is knocked out

Crafting 73(76)
Started working on this one getting the gems needed to get it all the way to 76, calculated i'll need aprox 8k gems of assorted kinds to get to where i need.

And while i could wait for the boat event to reach the crafting stage, i'm really itching to get a new big wave of quests going, so i'll simply have to endure this part of the skillgrind. And let me tell you, priff is gonna be a godsend once i get in there and can do harps.

Summoning 65
Tears of guthix got me another level

Comments

Making much faster progress than i had thought initially this week, i could not be happier about it either.

Almost done!
Just one more skill to go and then it's a questing spree without comparison, it it couldn't be any sooner because i've been wanting to get back on the quest track for a long time now.

Comments

Starting with comments this time around as there's alot to unpack.

As you can see my defence and magic has gotten really high, this is down to two factors, some ED3 GP farming for summoning and blue charm farming. Other factors contributing to this has been a really long dominion tower grind for the desert hard task set for the lamp.

This grind took me nearly 9 hours to complete but felt so good once it was done.

I've also gone around and completed a large amount of tasks for the xp lamps, including but not limited to
- Varrock Hard
- Seers village - Medium
- Desert Hard
- Falador - Easy
- Tiranwn - Easy

I also got to tag along on my first BM kill with my clan today, really nervous about it also but it went well enough. Nothing special in terms of loot from it

Skilling

Onto my skilling

Crafting
Gems, so many gems, hoping to see no more gems once i unlock priff

Agility
Got the last needed here doing some wildy laps

Summoning
65-70 summon i trained making strange plants which was really solid, then i ran out of charms, once monthly reset hit i put the xp book into it for level 71, i have some more planned xp sources planned to get there mainly tears of guthix, after that it's full on training it the normal way.

Herblore
The usual ironman way, lots and lots of lamps. Will have enough from remaining tasks and quests to get the 80 required for RoB

Quests

Completed: Phite club
Got the reputation for this one so i figured i'll throw a quick quest in just for the sake of it, and boy was this a challenging fight to figure out. Not to hard once the kinks had been solved but died a few time during it.

Back in the saddle of questing again! Got summoning to having only 27k xp required remaining which will be covered by clockwork syringe and the void stares back. Full steam ahead!

Quest plan
This is my intended route i plan to go for the quests ahead

1 - Priffidnas route
Void stares back (75 summon for plagues end)
Within the light
Plagues end

2 - Sunspear route
Legacy of seergaze (Herblore)
Branches of darkmeyer (Herblore)
Lord of vampyrium (Herblore)
River of blood (Herblore)

3 - Cleanup
In no particular order - these quests are priority cleanup quests because of rewards or utility.
Ritual of the mahjarrat (herblore)
Love story
Firemakers curse
Blood runs deep (Prayer)
King of the dwarves

Quests

Done- Rocking out
Hoo boy, does it feel good being back and what a banger to start it on, fetch quest to start it off with, and let me tell you. Made so many mistakes and rushed ahead having to redo multiple steps because of one reason or another.

But boy what a fun quest to start on, i quite like this questline and how it develops.

Done - Clockwork syringe
All action on this one, again a really solid quest in the pirate questline with lots of twists, turns and enjoyable characters. It's nice that it's not overly long either.

Done - The void stares back
Don't try to do this quest while hungry and tired, it's frustrating. But i did enjoy this quest and the finale it offered, not my favourite questline but as an whole it's really solid.

Done - Within the light
Oh man, after the the trainwreck that i was during void stares back this was a refreshing breather, loved this quest. And i love the lore it offers on top of not being to big on the puzzles, next up is the big one. Plagues end, and i'm exctited for this one.

Big day today with lots of quests going on

Quests

Done - Plagues end
Absolutely loved this quest start to end, the lore , the puzzles the combat everything, where do i start with this one. after weeks upon weeks of solid skilling working up the skills needed for among others this quest i was so excited to get it started.

And it did not dissapoint at all! I ended up looking up guides of a few of the npcs, two or so i think because i got kinda confused by the puzzle, the rest i did myself. And boy was the setup great.

For the fight i ended up restocking twice using war tort, and it got close once.

Priff is amazing and incredibly pretty, and so much to explore!

Quests

Done - Legacy of seergaze
Back into the saddle into this truly amazing questline, in so many ways that one. The overall rewards, the story. Legacy of seergaze is one solid quest and sets up the characters really nicely.

Done - Branches of darkmeyer
This is where it kicks off, the other quests are mostly just setup, this is where it gets good. And i love how it's executed from start to end and how it plays out. Also blisterwood weapons are awesome.

Done - Lord of vampyrium
Oh man this quest, i did not remember it at all until doing it again and boy did it take me by surprise, this quest gets dark (if the quest series wasn't dark enough as is). It also stressed me out really badly past the first puzzle phase, that time limit felt way to short. Ended up using a guide for the blood puzzle part because i was feeling very impatient.

And then the finale fight, epci from start to end. And really tough in stages, ended up dying two or three times during it because of how iffy certain mechanics were.

Also the feels

Done - River of blood
As a finale quest it's not the strongest writingwise , but it's darned good anyway. How do i make this quest justice, everything going full circle.

Also, the final fight was hectic, ran out of food before the last phase and having a nonresponsive combat made it rough. No food, 2k health vs 33k health, my heart was pounding for this epic battle. But i was determined not to die during it and i lived with 800 health left. Victory!

Summary
Good lord is this questline good, you meet so many endearing and less endearing characters but it's all really well written and played out. The sunspear is a bonus at this point with how good this quest really is.

At this point what remains is the 500 vyre cremation.
This questine got me from 78-81 herblore via xp books

Now onto cleanup and then some skilling for pieces of hate.

Quests

Done - Blood runs deep
After the stress, frustration and adrenaline that was the myreque questline this felt like a breeze in comparison, if only i'd remembered to bring more elemental runes. I don't care to much about the side characters of this questline but it's engaging enough.

Best part of this quest was the fact that it got me from 77-80 prayer in one go. A requirement from within the light.

Done - Ritual of the Mahjarrat
This quest started off sorta slowly but it gets good real fast, all of the baddies and less baddies in one spot, so many characters revealed and so much intrigue, absolutely awesome quest and utterly and completely enjoyable. This quest is in my top 10 because of how much fun it is.

Done - The firemakers curse
I want to say i care for this quest, but i kinda don't. The lore in it is really nice but wasn't a fan of it at all to be completely honest. Tho the best part of the quest is the finale fight.

Done - Back to my roots
Short, sweet and simple quest, the entrance of the jade vine maze is horrible to find but aside from that it's nice xp for not alot of work.

It is done, all sixth age main quests done! I still have some fifth age miniquests to do, but those aren't part of the quest requirment i have. Only main quests.

Quests

Pieces of hate - Done
Oh man, this quest, so many ups and downs during it i cannot even figure out where to begin. The finale is a really funny one from a writing standpoint as i am a massive fan of puns. The characters are fun aswell and the writing is witty.

The combat parts are hit and miss but once i figured them out absolutely enjoyed them. That said the rabid jack fight absolutely messed me up until i figured out the way to do it, then it became a whole lot easier.

That dizzying spin it does tho when you get enough insanity sucks so bad however.

Now it's onto sixth age quests starting with world wakes.

Sixth aqe

Quests

The world wakes - Done
Oh man, i have been so excited for this quest, i love how this quest plays out and the story behind it, and it was the only way i could start up once i unlocked all of the new content i have opened up!

The way this quest plays out is just amazing and it sets up the story so well for the new age. And it's literally a new world for me from this point.
Xp went into
- Summon
- Herblore
- Prayer

Combat xp went into
- Strenght

Done - Back to the freezer
This was a wonderfully bizarre quest that felt really goofy and fun, i actually really enjoyed this over the top rendition of the whoverse and other references on top of that. And man scaling rewards and more points from penguins? Yes please.

Exciting times ahead.
Over the past two days a good amount of progress has been made. And i'm debating how i want to approach the quests ahead. Got a little bit of a climb to do in a few skills, for within the light and some of the ambigouigous ones too, but nothing to aggregious.

Quests

Done - Death of chivalry
Not gonna lie, not a huge fan of this quest, it's by no means bad or terrible, but it just didn't stick with me very well.

Done - Missing presumed death
This quest was kinda fun and a great introduction to the quests to come, i love how all characters are given ample time to establish themselves and how you can exlore the lore further during it.

Done - Maharajjat memories
Not a quest in it's own right but rather a miniquest, this one took quite some time but boy was it worth it. During the memory collecting i got Willow, the divination pet \o/. This quest while the xp was lower compared to would have i returned the memories normally is a requirment for the MQC. The quest took me about six hours to complete.

And it got me to 76 divination which is a nice plus.

Done - Sagas
Another set of miniquests but some of theese are reccomended for the main quests in the sixth age section. Also a requirement for both tasks and MQC.

Quests

Done - One of a kind
What can i say, this quest was good, the lore, the characters and the fights were all really good. This quest hold so much higher standard than many of the fifth age ones. And i absolutely enjoyed this one through and through. Also finally getting that Dragon rider necklace is such a sweet feeling.

Done - Fate of the gods
This quest is the best quest i have done in ages, the sheer amount of lore in it is just godlike (excuse the pun), i spent maybe an hour at the lore section delving into every topic. And the fights.

I found myself not actually getting frustrated or annoyed by the fights but determined how to beat them. And beat them i did after seven or eight deaths (died as boss died lol, but it counted).

This quest was just sheer and utter joy to do, and i look forward to coming up to the next ones.

Comments

As an aside i've been starting to work to unlock invention because i'm at a point where the skills i need for quests will overlap with that of those needed for invention.

Smithing is done, and crafting/divination isn't far behind.

Also a note on the chronology in the quest book vs the one in release order for sixth age quests, it's a mess. I started doing dishonour among thieves but in terms of release it's one of the last quests to get released. Next up is the mighty fall, but need one more attack level for that.

Big one coming up, final stretch of quests now, and througouhly enjoying the journey.

Quests

Done - The mighty fall
I'll get the negatives out fast, i don't like the reskin of zanik in this quest, with that said however, LOVED this quest, the lore alone was absolutely enjoyable to take in and it was great to see a friendly face again.

And the fights, silly as some of them are, the graardor fight was both infuriating and enjoyable at the same time. Took me a few attempt to get it properly done but it was well worth it.

Done - Heart of stone
Aside from the lore dump this quest gave it had some fun moments and puzzles i didn't care overly much about this quest, it felt abit disjointed from the rest of the lore, i hope there'll be some answers later.

Done - Dishonour among thieves
This quest was a rollercoaster for me, i loved some of the parts hated others, but as a whole this quest was ultimatley really enjoyable. Also nomad is an absolute boss, love that character through and through.

Done - Dimension of disaster
This quest was a really nice breakup in the grander scheme of quests i've been going on, it's not exactly lore heavy but it offered a nice break to the really intense and serious stuff going on. Thouroughly enjoyed it.

Done - Heroes welcome
Another quest with lore out of the blue to an extent, but ultimatley very enjoyable and fun. The boss fight is also really different and took me one attempt to figure out what i needed to do to make it go smooth.

Done - Evil Daves big day out
Weird, bizarre, EEEEVIL! Quite the fun quest that i thouroughly enjoyed. Had me laughing more than a few times.

Quest points: 285/409

Comments

What can i say , the sixth age quests as a whole has been an experience of overall great quality. And With only 13 quests left to do at the moment of writing i look forward to the big ones.
