Progress report 2019-05-05

Short one this time around since the forum messed up my post when editing in more info.

Quests

[Done]Family crest
One of the most useful quests in terms of rewards, decided to pick up smithing gauntlets as my choice of gloves. Had a derp moment during the last fight where i had forgotten to put earth blast on my hotbar.

[Done]Slug menace
This was a good quest, but i spent anout 45 minutes crafting melee equipment for the final quest. This chain of quests is really bizarre but at the same time really fun.

[Done]Kenniths concern
Fun quest with a weird ending

[Done]Perils of ice mountain
Short quest but needed for that quest cape

[A souls bane]
Quick and easy with a fun and interesting premise

[Cold war]
Love this quest, quirky fun and just overall enjoyable, not bad rewards either

Grinding

- Got 48 hunter, the goal being around 60 for now. This due to multiple quests requring it
and not many hunter xp rewards left.
- Daily brimhaven challenge got me to 52 agility
- Nemi forest and PoF got me 58 farming

Comments

At this point i'm looking at multiple quests that has requirements i cannot meet without significant work put into them, the skills i will get up is in the following order
- Hunting 60-65 (48)
- Agility 56 for Regicide
- Ranged 60 for Roving elves requirement
- 53 thieving for Desert treasure
- Summoning 50 due to multiple quests at this point coming with summoning requirements
- Woodcutting 65-70, 70 preferred for both easy DG and branches of darkmeyer
- Fletching 70 to be able to get blisterwood weapons
- Dungeoneering 75 , want to set up fletching first so i can craft a good mage weapon for easy progress.

This is the most significant grind i've planned yet for this account. On a more positive note, over half the quests are done now. 150 completed quests and 134 more to do.

QP 236[406]

Smaller update this time, not gotten to many quests done this time around, but some fairly important ones. And a fair bit of preparatory skilling.

Quests

[Done]Desert treasure
Such a good quest in so many ways, this quest kept me on my toes and got me majorly frustrated at multiple points. This quest is a rough one as an ironman, the ice part is dangerous because because of the stat drain. Challenging fights in this one.

Had to restart the dungeon a few time because of the random bs trap palcement. But this quest is a fun one with a great reward in the end.

[Done]Legends quest
Hoo boy, is this a convolutet quest by fifth age quest standards, the entire undeground section had me solving sodoku just to get access to one of the runes needed, ended up looking up the solution for the rune and gem puzzle as i was getting tired and frustrated.

On that note however i really like this quest and it opens up so many other quests and opportunities. XP put into herblore getting it to 56

Skilling

This week has seen some skilling and preparation for legends quest, other preparations have been fishing in menaphos to build up some rep and a stock of food so i don't have to go to gnomes evertime i need more food. This skilling opened up about five or six quests to me.

PvM

Following the aquisition of ancient magicks i tried my hand at the barrows brothers, fun experience with a few scares, but i will be doing this more in the future.

Comments

Questing as an ironman not being able to rely on the GE for supplies, had not expected so solve a sodoku at all. At this point the quests are becoming longer and more complex, and the shorter quests are becoming rarer.

Priority is:
57 herblore
Complete fairy tail pt2 and pt3 for full fairy ring access
Work on smaller quests while working towards the sunspear.

QP:242/406

Quick question: Thoughs on this format?

Another big update coming, lots of progress made the past two days.

Quests

[Done]Curse of Zaros
Got this short but very nice miniquest completed, put the xp lamp into herblore.

[Done]The generals shadow
Following curse of Zaros i decided to do this one also while i was at it.

[Done]Fairy tale pt2 and pt3
One of my favourite questlines in the game, and one of the most potent rewards in the game also with the fairy ring network. Also unlocked half of the locations avilable trying to find the two required for the potion part. So happy to have this one done, especially for when i start slayer.

[Done]Hunt for red raktuber
Penguin points, do i need to say more? I also really like the movie references in this questline.

[Done]Olafs quest
Had to re-enter a few times due to slipping, but aside from that the defence alone makes this quest worth it.

[Done]What lies below
Short, sweet and access to some good content, nothing to special to say about this one.

[Done]Enakhras lament
Another questline down in the desert questline, this one was short, simple and gave ample amounts of useful xp. This quest also made me go above 250 QP.

[Done]Calm before the swarm
Figured i'd squeeze in one i though was going to be quick at the end but nope, of course i pick one with alot of puzzles. Got it done in the end

Skilling

Worked on fletching, woodcutting and firemaking to get closer to the requirements of the high end vampire quests.

Did the easy wilderness tasks and put the xp into herblore

Comments

Made some really good progress today in regards of questing, i don't have alot of main quests left i can do now that's 5th or ambiguous meaning i'm reaching a point where some skilling will be needed.

It's a great feeling seeing the quest list slowly shrink down however, and i'm also pacing skilling inbetween questing.

QP total : 252/406

Big update today, not to many quests done but alot of skills have been improved. Seeing as song of seren is going on i've decided to capitalize on it and get some needed training in while some areas are boosted. Namely the free secondary option of slayer and the double runespan points. Aswell as the double charm drops

None of the xp bonuses apply however, it's only the secondary bonuses.

Quests

[Done]Salt in the wound
Oh Jagex, how could you mess up such a good questline with such a horribly forced and written quest... This quest is truly dissapointing from previous entries in the questline. The silver lining on this is that it has some absolutely major rewards,

[Done]Hand in the sand
Now this is an enjoyable and fun quest to do, the puns work very well, the back and forth isn't to bad and it's just long enough.

Not a bad reward either for it's lenght.

Skilling

Lots of skilling today, among others i've been working on magic , defence and constitution via slayer and charm grinding during double drop periods and magic level has improved quite abit since.

Another skill i've been working on is runecrafting in the runespan, hoping to be able to afford a few pieces of the wicked clothing by the end of the weekend aswell.

Comments

A very productive day today, met several magic requirements for quests, including
- Swan song
- Lunar Diplomacy

My main focus right now is likely to be to meet the requirements for lunar diplomacy, two reasons for this, free t60 armor set wuld be an upgrade from my mystic set, and the lunar spellbook. Aswell as it being a requirement for other quests.

Quests

[Done]Elemental workshop 3 and 4
I have a confession to make, i used to hate these quests when i did them way back on my main, but going back to them as an ironman and being abilt older has completely changed my mind on them. There was something oddly relaxing to the puzzlesolving,

[Done]An enlightened journey
Very useful quest as it unlocks another transport system, will be spening some time getting the other travel paths set up. The quest being really relaxed helps alot also.

[Done]King's ransom
This quest is a good one, it's got an an interesting premise to it, you get to meet your favourite dysfunctional family again and it unlocks one massive combat xp opportunity.

Did the knights training ground immediate following the completion of this quest, had to go out the first attempt as i didn't prepare those restore potions, all potted up i went in again and absolutely destroyed them using guthans staff and vulnerability combo for some quick and easy combat xp across the board.

Skilling

Between questing i worked on slayer while farming charms and utilzing the free secondary slayer tasks and that yielded great results. All combat stats have improved to a small or big extent, mage is now level 70 which feels great.

Comments

I'm looking at my questlog and what i see is, majority of my fifth age quests now are miniquests, the same goes for any non-age related quests. It feels absolutely amazing to have made such progress in this amount of time.

The miniquests i will be knocking out soon as well as some of them are requirements for main quests.

Short one this time around as it's been mostly skilling and a little bit of questing

Quests

[Done]In pyre need
This quest for it's lenght, so short but such good rewards. 15 minutes for over 10k in 3 skills, yes please. Have yet to fight the phoenix as i didn't have combat gear with me.

[Done]A void dance
Bloody co-ordinate clues, my bane, had to wiki this one step. I quite like this quest otherwise, the writing is campy but enjoyably so.

Skilling

Been starting doing more of the daily D&D's such as menaphos obbys, and others. While not providing much in terms of skills they unlock skilling options.

Also finally maxed guthixian caches for the first time yesterday.

Comments

This week won't see much questing, but primarly skilling to enable more than a dozen quests i lack requirements for earlier quests. Some of these are also major questlines.

Update

I have now laid out a plan for the skilling before next big wave of questing

Skill Training
64 Agility
60 ranged

Enables quests
Regicide
Roving elves
Catapult construction
Mournings end pt1
Mournings end pt2

60 Woodcutting
64 crafting

Enables quests
Lunar diplomacy
The fremmenik isles
Dream mentor
Glorious memories

72 fishing
72 cooking

Enables quests
Recipe for disaster (Full) – XP into herblore
Swan song

60 thieving

Enables
A guild of our own
Dealing with scarabas

72(73) hunter

Enables
Deadliest catch
Crocodile tears

The longest part of this will be the cooking and fishing, but this is mostly an afk activity, this will be abit of a step away from my rules, but as mentioned before i'm looking towards two fairly busy weeks on the side of runescape with other project i am part of outside of runescape.

This skilling aside from unlocking multiple series of quests, will also open up other quests on the sides.

I'm back after a week of skill grinding, some skills have not been met but A heapload of new quests have been enabled. This is the stats post grind and pre quest

What i did, Spent time in abyss training my melee skills, fished in menaphos to build up food and rep. Cut gems to level crafting, did doors/tourist for thieving.

There's also some dailies invovled.

Quests

[Done]Some like it cold
Wish i had done the tutorial bit for this before trying it the first time, but really like this quest despite miserably failing the first time. Really tense end not gonna lie.

[Done]Lunar diplomacy
Great quest that's really fun to do, i like the light puzzle sections of it, the rewards are very very nice aswel, so much utility from one quest.

[Done]Dream mentor
Really quick and fun quest do do, not bad xp reward from it either!

[Done]Fremmenik isles
Despite all of the running this quest involves i really enjoy it, i quite like the references it involves, especially as a swede. Xp went into defence

[Done]Glorious memories
Just a fun quest in and off itself, nice tidbits of lore, not much else to say on this one really. Put the xp into defence, bonus reward xp went into herblore.

[Done]Regicide
Dragon halberd what else can i say, overall a really fun quest, i spent alot of time back and forth on this tho, looking forward to getting more done in this chain of quests.

Quests

[Done]Myths of the white lands
This is a really neat quest with a really fun payoff, decided to play along with the prank

[Done]Tai bow wanna trio
Oh how i hate that bridge, this is arguably one of my least favourite quests in the game if i'm gonna be honest, all because of that bridge. But glad to have it done so there's silver lining

[Done]As a first resort
Took much longer to do than i am willing to admit, ended up doing tai bwo to get the spears needed, then fumbled around with the other parts until i figured out the approach, the colour puzzle took me some time to figure out.

[Done]Catapult construction
Fun quest, even if i looked for the engineer in the completely wrong part of the forest initially, somehow solved the puzzle first try.

[Done]Roving elves
More like teleporting elves, as i was to talk to Eluned they teleported to a new location rofl, this is a really enjoyable and quick quest despite it being said to be long in the description.

Comments

Feels good to be back in business again, got 100 quests to go for full completion, whereas many of these quests are miniquests i've yet to do.
