Dear Diary,

It has been some time since I worked on a quest, but today I completed The Knight's Sword.

In the courtyard of Falador Castle, I spoke with a squire named Asrol. He was distressed because he somehow lost the sword that belonged to his master, Sir Vyvin. After I suggested he would rather be MY squire, he insisted he was loyal to Vyvin. That was fine. Why would I want such a careless fool for a squire? When I pointed out that swords are common enough, Asrol told me the sword was Vyvin's inheritance and it was specially made by the Imcando dwarves long ago. The squire asked me to help him by tracking down the Imcando dwarves and convincing them to forge a new sword. He said I ahould apeak to Reldo, Varrock's librarian, for more information on the dwarves.

I teleported to Varrock and found Reldo inside the library in the north end of Varrock Castle. Reldo said the Imcando dwarves were wiped out by various barbarian invasions on the Ice Mountain. As he told me this, I had a sudden flash of memory - as if I had actually witnessed these events. Surely, I could not have done so - could I? According to Reldo, some of the Imcando dwarves managed to escape and were last seen on the southern peninsula of Asgarnia, but they tend to keep to themselves. He said they are fond of redberry pie. I went to the west Varrock bank, took out the redberry pie I had banked, then teleported to Port Sarim. I headed south until I saw a small house on the side of a hill near the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon. Here I found Thurgo, the Imcando dwarf. I asked him if he could make a special sword for me. At first he said no, claiming he was retired. When I offered him the redberry pie, he could not refuse me. He told me he was willing to make the sword, but he needed a picture to make an exact copy. That made sense.

I returned to Falador and spoke to the squire again. He said Vyvin had a portrait of his father, along with their ancestral sword, in his room.

In the east part of the castle, I went up to the third floor. Vyvin wandered out of his room and I simply walked in the room. I searched a cupboard on a wall and obtained a portrait showing the sword. I teleported to Port Sarim and returned to Thurgo.

I gave Thurgo the portrait. He told me the hilt of the sword is made up of blurite, a rare metal which isn't known for making actual weapons, but he required it to decorate the hilt exactly as it is. Along with the blurite, he also required two iron bars to smith the sword.

I teleported back to Falador and entered the dwarven mine. A scorpion waited near the bottom of the stairs. I easily killed it before I mined four iron ores. Then I teleported back to the lodestone and smelted the ores into two iron bars at the nearby furnace. Next, I entered the west Falador bank and took out one blurite ore. I had two dozen blurite ores in my bank, which I had gathered on a visit to the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon some time ago.

I brought the blurite ore and iron bars to Thurgo, who proceeded to make a blurite sword. I carefully observed the dwarf, and learned much from his smithing technique. Finally, he handed me the finished copy of the sword. I thanked the dwarf, who invited me to call on him again some time - with more pie.

I went back to Squire Asrol and presented him with the blurite sword. He was very grateful. The squire told me Vyvin hadn't even noticed the sword had gone missing. I wonder if the clod will ever notice the portrait is no longer in his cupboard.

For completing this quest, I received:

1 quest point
A 12,725 Smithing XP lamp
The ability to smelt and smith blurite bars
2 Treasure Hunter keys

Love,
Kat

Thank you, 333333333.

Now that I can smelt and smith blurite, I went to the Artisans' Workshop this afternoon and smelted my remaining 23 blurite ores into bars. I then smithed 20 of these blurite bars into bolts, attached feathers to these blurite bolts, then tipped these with jade bolt tips to make 1,000 jade bolts. I banked these bolts, along with the three blurite bars I have remaining

Dear Diary,

The Wilderness has been reborn as of today.

I decided to hop the wall into the Wildy north of Edgeville. A level 113 PKer was waiting. He ran up to attack me, but couldn't. I laughed at his efforts. :P

We ended up having a conversation about the update. He told me where demons could be found and fought. I thanked him for the info, but figured he was just trying to lure me deeper into the Wild.

I noticed a couple of changes to The Wilderness I did not expect:

Once I reached Level 2 Wildy, my cosmetics did not revert to my actual gear like they used to. Also, after I killed a skeleton, it dropped 4gp. When I picked the coins up, they went right into my money pouch, instead of my inventory, like they used to.

I have to wonder: Is this how things are supposed to work in the Reborn Wildy, or are these bugs? Time will tell.

Love,
Kat

Dear Diary,

This afternoon I completed a third assassin contract on the Assassin's Return Treasure Hunter promo. I unlocked the Faceless Assassin boots, which go along with the top and hands (blue) cosmetic overrides I previously unlocked.

I also claimed a huge prismatic lamp, which I used to gain Firemaking XP.

Love,
Kat

Dear Diary,

This morning I completed Daily Challenges in Firemaking, Cooking, and Mining.

I took 10 yew logs and 10 raw crayfish from my bank. I burned the yew logs on a bonfire east of the Lumbridge Market bank chest. Then I cooked the crayfish over the bonfire. I banked the crayfish and teleported to Varrock.

At the southwest Varrock mine, I mined 20 mithril ores. I also found two geodes - one contained a spirit shard, while the other contained an uncut opal. I cut the gem and teleported back to Lumbridge, where I deposited the mithril ores into my metal bank via the furnace and banked the spirit shard as well as the opal.

I redeemed these challenges to reach 80 Mining.

My RuneScore has increased to 1,600.

Love,
Kat

Dear Diary,

Last night, I completed Daily Challenges in Smithing, Cooking, and Runecrafting.

I smithed 150 rune arrowheads at the anvil in Lumbridge. Next, I took 10 raw crayfish from my bank. I chopped and burned a log north of Lumbridge Market. Then I cooked the crayfish over the fire. I banked the crayfish and teleported to Draynor.

I headed south to the Wizards' Tower and entered the Runespan, where I siphoned 8 air runes from an air essling and a cyclone before teleporting back to Lumbridge.

I redeemed these challenges to reach 69 Runecrafting.

Love,
Kat

Dear Diary,

Party Pete has launched a month-long celebration at the Grand Exchange this week. Once again, his party began as a bit of a disaster, resulting in balloon fragments all over Gielinor.

Pete asked for my help in tracking down the balloon fragments, offering me a balloon containing prizes for every 200 fragments I bring him. So far, I have given him 200 balloon fragments. In exchange, he gave me a blue balloon.

Party Pete is also giving everyone a free balloon daily. So far, he has given me two free balloons - a white one and a blue one. This is what I got from popping the balloons:

White balloon
- a triangle sandwich, 25 oddments, and 10 silverhawk down

Blue balloons
- a slice of cake and 100 tight springs
- a triangle sandwich, 25 silverhawk down, and a medium BXP star

I used the medium star to gain BXP in Firemaking.

Party Pete is throwing this celebration to mark 300,000,000 adventurers in Gielinor. For the occasion, he also gave me a pair of 300m glasses.

Love,
Kat
