Dear Diary,

This afternoon I made my ninth trip to Daemonheim.

I cleared Floor 11 on Complexity 6.

This level contained two puzzle rooms. In one room early on, there were three rows of suspicious-looking grooves in the floor which blocked advancement into the room. Stepping on the wrong space triggered a trap that dealt quite a bit of damage. I triggered two traps before successfully passing through the first row. After I triggered another trap in the second row, I stopped to rest and heal. Meanwhile, I right-clicked on a tile to examine the grooves, wondering if this might provide a clue as to whether those grooves were safe or not. I discovered that right-clicking gives you the option to investigate the grooves. This knowledge enabled me to trigger the traps from a distance so I could cross safely. Later, I had to make a grappling hook to grapple a bridge to extend it so I could cross a chasm.

At the end I fought a Luminescent Icefiend for the second time. This is a truly annoying boss to fight, because he keeps throwing icicles around. The coward also hides in his ice blocks often, but when he dared to emerge, I got some solid hits on him. I beat him without dying, but I ate four giant flatfish and a short-finned eel to heal from those blasted icicles.

The icefiend dropped a pair of daggers and part 6 of the Mysterious Chronicle.

Completing this dungeon got me Dungeoneering level 39. I also completed a Daily Dungeoneering Challenge. After I had left the dungeon, I redeemed this challenge to reach Dungeoneering level 40.

I have now cleared all the Frozen floors. On my next trip to Daemonheim, I'll be heading to Floor 12 - the first of the Abandoned floors! I'm looking forward to it.

Dear Diary,

Today I trained Magic.

This morning, while using up the 30 Low-Alchemy spells granted daily by my Explorer's Ring 2, I got Magic level 42

Tonight I used the two free medium phoenix lamps to get 43 Magic. Then I brought my magic gear to the Dark Wizards' Tower. I showed the wizards my new Crypt Staff. The level 37 wizards were aggressive towards me. They didn't live long enough to regret their foolish actions. I kept killing dark wizards until I reached 44 Magic. I then spoke with Zandar Horfyre. He invited me to leave his tower. I said I would, but instead I killed two more of his students. Then I told Horfyre I decided to stay. He responded by teleporting me into Lumbridge Swamp.

Aside from a small amount of coins, I got 10 air runes, 64 body runes, 14 chaos runes, 28 fire runes, 36 mind runes, 8 nature runes, 28 water runes, a fire talisman, 3 water talismans, 3 dark wizard hats, a dark wizard robe top, and a staff. I banked the runes and sold the rest.

Dear Diary,

This afternoon I returned to Edgeville Dungeon.

I went there for a brief time yesterday, to use magic to fry some poison spiders before working on some Daily Challenges. While upgrading my rune battleaxes from +2 to +3 weapons, I got 63 Smithing - and that was before redeeming the Smithing challenge. Later I completed and redeemed a Mining challenge in Al Kharid to get 67 Mining. I also got 45 Magic by fighting the scorpions roaming the mine. This unlocked the Chain spell. This is good for hitting up to three targets at once.

Today I swapped my magic gear for my melee gear and paid the poison spiders another visit.

Again, as I approached the passage which leads to the lair of the poison spiders, one of them immediately attacked me. I quickly killed the spider. I advanced as the spiders kept attacking me. They stood no chance. Partway through the battle, I raised my Attack, Defence, and Strength to level 58. I killed over 70 poison spiders before I left their lair.

Before I exited the dungeon, I picked up some bones to bury, including several I received from defeating skeletons. I buried just enough bones to reach Prayer level 49.

I gained four skill levels, but I did not advance a combat level.

I got 12 air runes, 3 earth runes, 2 fire runes, an iron arrow, a grimy guam, a grimy tarromin, and two tiny pieces of spiky iron salvage, along with some coins, from beating the skeletons. I banked the runes and herbs, while I sold the arrow and salvage on the Grand Exchange.

Dear Diary,

This afternoon I returned to the Daemonheim Woodcutting island dungeon.

I brought with me the Dwarven Chainaxe I created during the recent Dwarven Discovery TH promo. This item started off with 200 charges - and I used all of them in the resource dungeon. This raised my Woodcutting from level 51 to 54.

After the chainaxe fell apart in my hands, I continued to chop maple logs. After getting my 9th log, I got 55 Woodcutting. I filled my backpack with maple logs before teleporting to Al Kharid to bank the logs.

Dear Diary,

This evening I used a small prismatic lamp I received from a Yak Track task to get 41 Ranged.

Next I completed a Daily Fletching Challenge by making 150 steel arrows. Redeeming this raised my Fletching from level 38 to 40.

Then I entered the Runespan, where I siphoned enough runes to raise my Runecrafting from level 45 to 47. This also completed a Daily Runecrafting Challenge. Redeeming this got me Runecrafting level 48.

I saw a thread in General asking players how they came up with their character's name.

This is what I posted:

Well I'm Kat, so that part was simple enough.

I took Stryke from a character of the same name from the Razor comic book series first published in the early 1990's by London Night Studios. Stryke is a world class assassin and the younger sister of the vigilante known as Razor. Versed in many fighting and killing techniques, anything is a deadly weapon in the hands of Stryke.

Like my namesake, my character also enjoys all forms of combat. Both Strykes have white hair. However, my character also has ghostly white skin to match. I've been putting out fire with gasoline!

Dear Diary,

The Beach has arrived, so I went and checked it out this afternoon.

I explored the Dungeoneering hole multiple times. Here I discovered some oddments, along with tokens to unlock the Menaphos beachwear, a seashell necklace, some elegant sandals, and the Stephanie seagull pet. I also raised my Dungeoneering from level 40 to 44.

I fought Clawdia twice. After the first battle I received a large shell, a Clawdia balloon, and a dose of anti-sun. Between these fights, the Dungeoneering hole, and maxing the thermometer, I found a dozen beach cocktails. I found two ice creams in the hole, but I ate one to cool off and reset the heat meter.

I took a sandy clue scroll and followed the trail to the sandcastle building area, a dwarf's anvil, the Dungeoneering hole, the Duel Arena, and finally to a pile of coconuts near the stage by the entrance to The Beach. Beneath the coconuts I found two caskets. Inside the first I found a medium piece of plated mithril salvage and a fire talisman. The second casket contained 150 fire runes and 150 earth runes.

I spent 500 oddments with Sheldon to purchase the Summer Fun and Swimming beach outfits. Currently, I'm wearing the Summer Fun bikini in dark blue.

I'll be back for more beach-themed fun tonight.
