This is one of the reasons why ranged is such a big meta in OSRS; not only is it much cheaper than magic, and allows attacking from a distance unlike melee, it also has the highest hits, which are also easier to pull off than with magic and melee.

Mining is my absolute most hated skill in OSRS atm, so I'm very glad it's over. Goodbye MLM!

Unfortunately though, I didn't manage to get the mining pet yet. Maybe in the future, if a better method(s) is added, it could be worth looking into, but the pet is pretty meh too.

Back when I started this thread, the plan was to make a special every X levels, but over time it changed into making a special with each 99, and because I grew to like the latter approach better, and I already did a special for defence, there's no new special for defence, nor will there be for slayer, which also had a special at the start. Instead, tomorrow will be an interlude.

Getting the mining pet from normal rocks like that is a really crappy chance, not worth it. I don't think Anja's blessing over Rimmington will be enough there!

Interlude - Journey to Mac



Mac, the max cape seller in OSRS, lives on a tiny island, west of the Warriors' Guild. Unlike Max in RS3, you cannot even reach him unless you have a certain set of skills at level 99, in order to clear the path to him. For the longest time, mining and defence were the skills I still needed to max to reach Mac (though I have no idea why 99 defence was needed to cross the rocks).

This is my journey to meet Mac.



But since I still have some levels to go, Mac is not yet impressed.
