Special #13
As my first complete year of active play in OSRS is
drawing near, I thought I'd put that into perspective:
The above is a graph that shows how the GE guide price of blood runes has progressed throughout my year of play, with the black spot marking the date when I began my final runecraft grind (from 86 to 99). My original plan with runecraft was to do blood runes from 77 to 90 and soul runes from there on to 99, because as can be seen from the graph, blood rune prices were in the mud most of the year (they had little use and too much supply from blood runecrafters), so with those prices, the extra exp/hour from soul runes was worth the slight loss of gp, because soul runes were even more oversupplied and not that useful either.
But then, thanks to theater of blood coming in June dropping a useful staff against Zulrah that required blood runes to power it, as it became more common in July, people started buying blood runes in masses, and when I reached level 90, it became clear as per the above graph, that the extra exp from soul runes was no longer worth the loss of gp over making blood runes. So I stuck crafting blood runes all the way, which also gave me the pet!
...and that's the story of how a well-timed update can change things around big time, and net you a lot more profit. Cheerio for all the extra millions of gp (and pet), Jagex! > )

27 levels remaining before max!
