Oh no. Not again... :@

Jagex has inserted yet another Yak Track grindfest "event" into the game starting today. This time I wasn't even given a task list! No matter, I still have the previous seven copies. Plus, there are the noticeboards, though they are not as convenient.

I completed Task #1 by speaking with The Curator in Burthorpe and listening to his yakstory. The other option was Skilling and Killing 10 times.

I received the Jas Neophyte's Outfit cosmetic overrides.

For Task #2, I can catch 180 fish (salmon or better) or burn 500 logs (willow or better).

Fishing will be faster, but I could use the Firemaking XP more. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

Wow, I am SO unmotivated to work on this Yak Track crap.

I more than completed Task #2 by harpooning 95 swordfish and 89 tuna for a total of 184/180 fish caught. I ended up making 7 runs from the dock to Stiles, so he could note the fish for me. I added these 184 fish, along with 26 bananas, to my bank.

I received a small dwarven toolbox, which I used to make a dwarven ramhammer.

For Task #3, I can chop 90 logs (willow or better) or kill 463 monsters.

I'll be woodcutting for this task. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

For Task #4, I can string 200 bows or mine 210 ores (coal or better).

I more than completed Task #4 by mining 120 luminite and 120 runite ores in and around the Mining Guild, for a total of 240/210 ores. I also found 30 geodes.

For Task #5, I can earn 143,815 Crafting XP or Skill and Kill 15 times.

I completed Task #5 by Skilling and Killing 15 times in and around Al Kharid and Lumbridge. I finished this task by chopping 6 yew logs near Lumbridge Market.

I received a medium prismatic lamp, which I used to gain 11,845 Runecrafting XP.

For Task #6, I can cook 450 foods (pike or better) or locate the wandering yak.

You'll get through it. I personally love it, it allows me to work on skills I want 120s in, but don't have the motivation to do so. By having this event and working on it, I finally got skilling pets I've been wanting, but just lacked the desire to grind the skills to obtain them. This definitely helps in my 120 goals. Just look at it that way when you're doing this.

Too often though, I find neither of the Yak Track tasks to be anything I am interested in training for an extended period of time. If the tasks had more variety, or were more than just "grind this skill for x thousand XP" chores, I'd enjoy the tracks more.
