Late tonight I completed this year's Christmas-themed quest Violet Is Blue Too.
There were a few typos in the dialogue, but aside from that I thought this was a charming little quest. It was nice to see Violet, her parents, and a certain snow imp named Dennis again. I also appreciated the nod to A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Once again, the only F2P quest I've not yet done is Missing, Presumed Death. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

Happy New Year!
Last January, I posted my resolutions for 2020. My short-term goals for 2020 were:
- to raise Crafting from level 78 to 80, to get all my F2P skills to 80 or better. Goal reached on 22 February! Now all my F2P skills are at level 86 or better, except for 85 Dungeoneering.
- to focus on Archaeology when that skill came out, to reach the level cap ASAP. Goal reached on 30 March! I raised Archaeology from level 1 to 20 that night.
I had some longer-term goals I thought I might reach in 2020:
- to raise Mining to level 99. Goal reached on 28 May! I went on to reach virtual Mining level 100 on 13 September.
- to complete Broken Home, so I could move on to do the only other F2P quest I've not yet completed: Missing, Presumed Death. Goal reached on 19 September! I used the small XP lamp I got for finishing the quest to gain 4,522 Prayer XP. This was more than enough for me to reach Prayer level 84, which then got me to combat level 115. This also got all my F2P skills to level 84 or better.
- to gather 100 chronicle fragments to offer in exchange for the Of Guthix title. I had 12 at the start of 2020. Goal NOT reached yet. I currently have 27 fragments in my bank.
My short-term goals for 2021:
- Reach Attack/Constitution/Defence/Strength level 92. (Goal reached on 3 January!)
- Reach Magic level 88. (Goal reached on 3 January!)
- Reach combat level 116. (Goal reached on 3 January!)
- Reach virtual Mining level 101. (Goal reached on 2 January!)
Longer-term goals:
- Complete Missing, Presumed Death.
- Raise all F2P skills to level 90 or better.
- Gather 73 more chronicle fragments. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

Well, that went faster than I expected. One goal for 2021 has now been reached!
This afternoon, I used 10 TH keys on the current Fireworks Festival promo. With one key, I won four small XP lamps (Mining), then I won three more of these lamps with another key. I stood at the G.E. and proceeded to rub all seven lamps. As I rubbed the 5th small XP lamp (Mining), I managed to reach virtual Mining level 101!
My Total Level is 1590 (Virtual Level 1595).
Two of the other keys got me 100 silverhawk feathers each, one after the other. I sold all 200 on the G.E. for just under three million coins. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

After using my daily spells granted by the Explorer's Ring 4 - first the 15 High-alchs, next 24 of the 27 Superheat spells, then the rest of the 30 Low-alchs I had left - I got Magic level 88!
My Total Level is 1591 (Virtual Level 1596).
In addition, while working on Yak Track Task #11 (kill 469 monsters) a little later this afternoon, I completed a Daily Combat Challenge. I had to kill 25 monsters. I killed 40 deadly red spiders. I used the XP lamp I received for redeeming this Daily Challenge to gain 32,250 XP in Ranged. This got my Ranged XP to over four million. 4,021,222 XP, to be exact. This also got my Total XP, which was 109,985,977 at the time, to surpass the 110,000,000 mark.
Very soon, Virtual Level 1600 will be mine!
That will be a nice way to celebrate RuneScape's impending 20th Anniversary!

I received Combat as my Daily Challenge again today. I still had 10 kills to go in order to complete Yak Track Task #11 (see above), so I brought my chargebow to the Al Kharid mine. I used Ranged to kill 14 scorpions, which completed Task #11 and brought up my Constitution level essentially equal to my other three melee skills. Then I switched to my rune longswords +3 to kill more scorps for the Daily Challenge. Killing scorpion #22 raised my Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength levels to 92 and my Combat Level to 116!
My Total Level is 1595 (Virtual Level 1600).
I am now at least "Halfway There" in 8 of the 17 F2P skills - almost half of them.

Knight Before Christmas Yak Track update:
As I detailed above, I completed Task #11 after killing 469 monsters.
For Task #12, I can either complete 14 dungeon floors or chop 225 logs.
It looks like I'll be chopping wood. As it happens, two of my current Daily Challenges are for Firemaking and Woodcutting. How about that?
