So, to cap my month-long celebration of earning my 10-year-vet cape I bought a couple of RS $25 cards this past weekend and spent them on runecoins. In addition to getting a pair of pretty cool-looking weapon overrides, I finally boosted my bank, something I really should've done a while ago.

Now that I have plenty of extra bank space, I've decided to revisit dungeoneering. I've completed a few floors so far this week. My immediate goal was going to be to reach level 60 dungeoneering. However, more and more I am recalling there are other issues in regards to dungeoneering which annoy me, aside from needing to enter the dungeons wearing nothing and with an empty backpack.

I haven't gained any new levels so far. My dungeoneering level remains at 57. I am considering maybe just getting one new level then taking another long break from dungeoneering. In addition to throwing off the xp counts of some of my skills which I like to keep even with other skills, the bosses so far have simply not been enough of a challenge. If I continue to be both annoyed and bored with dungeoneering, my return to it may very well be short-lived.

Time will tell. It always does...

Adriana, you'll get to claim one someday. I know you qualify for a 5-year cape anyway, even though I know capes aren't really your style. Hehe.

True, it'll be a while before I can claim the 10-year cape. I did finally get around to claiming the 5-year cape and hood the other day.

As for my "style", as you put it, well that's what the hide option is for. ;)

Well, as I suspected, it didn't take all that long before I got bored training dungeoneering. I have since abandoned the skill/minigame in favor of returning to regular training. I did manage to gain a level, raising my dungeoneering level to 58. I didn't find any of the journals I've been missing. Now I am working on restoring the balance between my ATT, DEF, and STR levels. Lifting those heavy bars blocking a few of the doors forced me to gain some extra strength XP. At least I have rebalanced my firemaking and woodcutting levels once more.

After I rebalance my combat skills, I plan to keep training combat while waiting for the Halloween event. Even after 10+ years, I still look forward to the holiday events here! :)

Oh, and I found another rune scimitar early this morning while training on the roach soldiers. My collection of these now numbers 42. ^_^

Both the Halloween event and the Bonus XP Weekend are behind us now. While I didn't get a chance to play quite as much as I would've liked, I did manage to score all the F2P rewards from Death, along with a fair number of XP lamps. Many of the lamps I used to get closer to reaching level 86 in my four highest skills - Attack, Constitution, Defense, and Strength. However, I did apply a few XP lamps to other skills I was closer to gaining a level in. One of these was Mining.

I did not gain a Mining level over the course of the Bonus XP Weekend. However, the 7000-something XP I was short I managed to earn earlier this evening. As a result, a short time ago I achieved level-80 Mining! :)

I now have five skills as a pure F2P which are at level 80 or above. Several others are in the 70s, and I expect one of these will end up being the next skill that I gain a level in. Most likely it'll be cooking, which is currently at 75.

Time will tell. It always does...

As I predicted, Cooking was the next skill of mine to be leveled up. Earlier tonight I achieved 76 Cooking, followed quickly thereafter by getting 74 Fishing.

Tonight I also passed the 2, 000, 000 XP mark in regards to Mining. :)

I worked on getting my Crafting up a little tonight as well. This remains one of my lowest ranked skills, along with Dungeoneering, both of which are currently at 59. I'd like to get them both at least to 60 by year's end. Crafting should be simple enough, but Dungeoneering...I don't know. This skill just annoys me.

I'd also like to gain at least one more Combat Level before the year is over.

The success I have in reaching these goals, I suspect, may in part depend on how distracting the Christmas event is this year, as well as the Thanksgiving event(if there is one).

I raised my Crafting to level 60 earlier tonight, with the help of one of those new smouldering XP lamps...even though they have no effect on BXP if you are F2P. I guess that's to be expected, but still I had hoped these lamps would enable me to burn off that 25k BXP cluttering up my skills tab.

So now the only free-to-train skill I have that is not level 60 or higher is Dungeoneering, currently at level 59.

Dungeoneering...ugh. O_o

Monday night, I met another goal I had wanted to attain before the end of the year:

Through training, and the skillful use of Festive Lamps, I raised my Attack, Constitution, Defense, and Strength all to level 86, thereby gaining another Combat level: 107

I might hit CL 108 after gaining another level in either Magic or Ranged, but if I do not, that's fine.

One last EOY task still to complete. Yes, that's right...Dungeoneering level 60. I've used a couple glowing lamps on the skill to get me that much closer, but have resisted using the more powerful XP lamps to get Dungeoneering 60 for two reasons:

1) I have had better uses for the Festive Lamps(see above - also, I got Smithing 76 tonight...anyone need any addy longswords?) :)

2)As I am so close to that final 2014 goal(now about 2200 XP to go), I'd prefer to actually earn that last bit of Dungeoneering XP - and what better time to do that than during the upcoming Dungeoneering Weekend?! ^_^

I will succeed, one way or another.

It is done! Earlier tonight I successfully reached the last of my end-of-the-year goals. I attained level 60 Dungeoneering. :)

Ironically enough, although this weekend was a Dungeoneering weekend, I missed out on practically all of it, since I was not on much Saturday, and I spent the late morning and all afternoon Sunday catching up on sleep - in fact, I only logged in about a half hour before the Sunday to Monday reset!

Fortunately, in spite of not being on for most of Dungeoneering weekend, I managed to get more than the 2200-something XP I needed to reach level 60 Dungeoneering after only one small solo dungeon! I completed that one, then a second before returning to other skilling tasks.

Now all my F2P skills are at least level 60, with all member skills at level 5, even Construction(thanks to World Event 2)! I'm planning to spend any remaining Festive Lamps on Mining and Smithing. While I have no more goals set for the end of 2014, I am already looking ahead to 2015. I currently have Mining level 80 and Smithing level 76. As I once thought how cool it will be to someday be able to wear and wield rune items, now I think how cool it will be to be able to mine rune and to smith rune items. Will 2015 be the year I reach those particular goals? Guthix knows, but I will certainly work towards reaching them! ^_^
