Why is this being done?


It's hoped that having regular events, at regular times, will slowly allow for the word to spread, and give people the opportunity to play the Miningames, if they wish to (whether they are people who used to play them a lot, or people who've never had the opportunity to play them before) - the current spotlight system isn't doing that, and is more often pushing away people wishing to actively play the content.

It should allow Minigame communities to come into contact with new players, more, as they've been cut off from the chance of gaining new members, and have been dying out from attrition.

Giving people a time when they can be sure of getting played games, will at least take away some of the problems currently preventing them from engaging with the content. It can't counteract all the problems, but it's a start.


If this can become a more established thing, it may also have the benefit of drawing more attention to the content (and how it isn't completely despised by everybody), so that there may be more chance of some helpful updates to it (and less chance of removal threats, or further harmful things being considered justified).



It is not expected to be an immediate success, and it may take over a Year for it to get properly established (if it succeeds, at all - after all, problems have persisted for so long, that many dedicated players have either given up, or moved to other things/playing it by other means.. so having folks around to host them every week may be a problem, for some Minigames).

Hopefully it will work, though. I know that some folks have put in a lot of effort, over the Years, to keep their home-content alive, and welcoming to newer players, and it would be a shame to see that finally become extinguished.

It can do both, if there's demand for it, though I can only organise the RS3-side, myself (if anyone were willing to do the same for OSRS, they'd have whatever support I can give them, but other than the TB, and CWs communities, I don't know many Minigamers from there - even if I know quite a few RS3 Minigamers who mostly play OSRS).


The more Minigamers who can support eachother, the better. Not everyone will wish to play more than one Minigame, but the more folks involved, the higher the number of people even a small percentage will make up.



Do you know of/are you part of, any OSRS Minigaming communities?






The BTS vid makes this all the more urgent, especially as they spent the last Year undermining the content even further.

Apologizing for my post that was here, I was unaware of the type of event nor the requirements to host such an event and am always pleased with the events I can attend. I will do a little more research next time before I go on a little rampage :P :)
