Had great fun, Y'day, with events from 20:00 to about 01:00. Must say that Mod Lee does brilliant work with running his events, and supporting the community events, and Mod Shauny is amazing - his enthusiasm, and eagerness to go the extra mile, and extent events/add multiple impromptu events after the official ones, really show!

It's always sad when CM team Mods get 'promoted' on to other departments (though it's nice that they get the opportunity), it's such a shame to lose them.. feeling guilty for wishing these two will stay long-term. :p

Updated events are looking great. :) The only thing I can see that might possibly cause an issue for the F2P event, is that the Anniversary Garden no longer has a bank deposit box for those who might want to do some bank standing skills. Otherwise, great job! I might actually be able to attend this time ^_^ Looking forward to it.

Old event idea:

If you think this is a good idea maybe you can ask some of the other CM members to explain this further or help you with setting this up.
I believe it was Mod Neena that hosted this once before =)

Quite a while ago (1 year+?) when other Community Managers were hosting events we once had an event that i found very interesting and fun to participate in.

Around 5 people (these can be regular players) will each stand at a lodestone which will have a specific item (a trout, flax, something that is obtained within or around that area) assigned to them.

The goal is that the other people that join the event (the ones that will actually do the challenges) will collect these items only using the resources available in that area, so no GE or trading with other people or teleports will be allowed, only the lodestone network, so you'd have to actually fish a trout for example.

After you've obtained let's say that trout you'll have to go to the person standing at the lodestone, you'll have to show them the trout and this person will give you an item to verify you were there (a noted banana or something cheap).

These items you'd have to collect will be posted in this thread once the event starts so people cannot pre-buy them.

After you've collected all the items and traded them in for bananas there'll be a final destination point where you'd have to trade the final person and show the noted bananas (or other item), the first few people that show up and succesfully show all the items will win something (signed art, a bond?).

The goal of this event is to just have a bit of fun and to have a small competition around gielinor and maybe even have a reward for the first few winners?

Rules:
- No GE
- No teleports other than lodestones
- No buying items from other players
- All items will be obtained by yourself
- People that don't follow the rules will be disqualified

That actually sounds like a really interesting & well thought out event HTML. I would love to see something like that planned in the near future. It would make for an extremely interactive & fun event for sure. It sounds very similar to an event that Moff hosted awhile back ago, wherein people would look for various food items to add to a pizza topping, & the first to return with that item would win a point- the one with the most points at the end was the overall winner. (At least, I think that's how it went! It's been over a year haha) Either way, excellent suggestion.

Haha yes i remember that event and actually participated in it too, it is indeed similar to that although this one would require a few more people to setup and is more spread over gielinor, i think Moffs event was limited to lumbridge and al kharid if i remember correctly (as you said it's been a long time since we did that so i can't remember it 100%) :p

I like events like these but they're hard to organise. I see 2 issues with it:
1.
Chaotic as playing with a lot of people can be, especially races, the person that has to give those items to people 1 by 1 . The time it takes for the checking person to trade 1 person another 5 will have reached him, ready to receive their item. People come and trade him so he will get a ton of trade requests. This would be no issue IF everyone only traded once but I don't think we can trust that to happen. He is gonna get spam traded by people and the order of arrival will be lost .
Plus: It's pretty disappointing if you arrive 1 second after someone else and the other person gets a 10 second head start on the next track only because it takes time to trade. In races timing is of the essence.

2.
This one is short. How to prevent people from using the G.E.? A friends chat is easely left for a few seconds and rejoined so you wouldn't see anyone as a blue dot in the G.E.

You might think i'm paranoid but if something is hosted it should be hosted properly with no leaks.
