So I've noticed some serious performance degradation/crashing on Runescape since the Mesa 21.0 update - has anyone else had this? I'm running an AMD 5700XT which I know is a bit temperamental on Linux, but it's mostly ran great so far.

Trust Runescape to be the only game that doesn't seem to benefit from their newsworthy performance improvements in this Mesa release :P

Hi I'm getting the same issue as above., I've always used the flatpak.

The flatpak is using 21.1.1 so I still get the issue, unless I'm mistaken.

Also getting issues starting the snap which I'm still looking into, if you have tips they'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Hi this was super helpful. The specific commit you gave was a bit too far back and I started getting errors resizing the window so i tried a few more recent commits.

Mesa - 20.3.5 Seems to be smoothest for me
sudo flatpak update --commit=a35dffb561996166d74b33de9768d6dcf34c62e8c728cbb1aa42f9f80cad1f5a org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default

Mesa 21.0.3 Might have also been an improvement (I didnt test it for long - quick lap of menaphos)
sudo flatpak update --commit=24a645fde10a0c63bfe39262cf5c29ff5299290303902111cc4d4efa9e641d82 org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default

So I just installed the Flatpak version of the client, and didn't bother to do any of those extra commands to downgrade the Mesa version, but it still seems to have fixed my problem! :) Thanks everyone!

EDIT: Nope, spoke to soon! Laggy mess again. I tried running those 'update' commands to downgrade Mesa but it gives this error:

Looking for updates…
error: Commit has no requested ref ‘runtime/org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default/x86_64/19.08’ in ref binding metadata

This is really the first time I've ever used Flatpak so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here!

Final edit:

Had to add org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default//20.08 to the update command (note the additional //20.08) - not sure why that is but it worked.
