Hi, I'm using a MacBook Pro M1, I've a similar issue but the thing is that the interface opens and stuck there with an error message: there was an error loading game configuration check ur firewall or connection. I tried many solutions, started from installing java, reinstall Jagex launcher, ending with switching vpn on. but that solution passed me through that step into another issue which is that the interface loads only 80% and then when it comes to the big screen it becomes all black while the interface stuck on loading with no error messages.

I just got back to RuneScape after 2 years of not playing it. and it was all good before that Jagex launcher new update, I hope you may find a solution for my problem. bo_farouk :)

having a problem with jagex launcher, been playing on mac for a couple days no problem then one day i opened the launcher and it said about the update, did the update and now the launcher doesn't even open. tried uninstalling and installing many times, even uninstalled java and reinstalled as have seen a few people mention this but still nothing. is there anything else i can try? I'm assuming its a problem on jagex's end ? do i have to wait and hope it sorts itself out ? appreciate any help

Hi BiG Zee.

I'm afraid the latest update to the Jagex Launcher requires macOS 10.13 or later. If you have an earlier version, then you will need to update it if you are able to on your hardware. Glad to be of service :) (Powered by GPP™ - Share and Enjoy!)

thanks for the reply, just checked, my OS is 10.11.6 which is the earliest one i have atm, does this mean i now can't use/play through the jagex launcher? is there anyway around this ? so i can continue to play

Just a quick line for everyone in here still having issues with their Mac or Macbook...

The latest version of the Jagex Launcher requires a minimum of macOS 10.13.

If you haven't installed macOS High Sierra, you can do so by searching Apple's Support pages and finding the download link. Takes roughly an hour to install.
