Im on Mac. I was playing yesterday and everything was fine. I tried to get on today but the jagex launcher was not working. I googled and saw a post where someone says to delete the launcher and reinstall. I tried that, but it's not working. The launcher installer claims the launcher is installed, but it isn't because I cannot find the launcher (after deleting everything to reinstall). any help would be appreciated.

to add more info: I download the jagex launcher install. I double click it to download the launcher. the download speed doesn't even move but I get a notification that the launcher has installed. I then click "launch", but I get a blank white screen.

Hi there
SKT T1Zed
,

Is there a chance that you are using a VPN? This can often cause complications with applications such as the Jagex Launcher, and it is generally advised to steer clear of using these when playing RuneScape.

If not, I suspect what's happened is that your computer still thinks RuneScape is installed, and that is why the launcher is detecting it and trying to launch it, but you've deleted the files. my suggestion would be to go to "Add or Remove Programs", uninstall RuneScape if it's there, restart the Jagex Launcher and then install RuneScape through the launcher itself.

Hope this is of help to you.

You may need to download the standalone client. I will provide the instructions to do this below:

- Go to this Support page: Recommended specifications .
- To download the standalone client, click on the round Old School RuneScape symbol in the 'Download' column of the "RuneScape and Old School clients" table.
- This will open a new page to download the standalone client.

See if this works for you. After downloading the client, you may also be able to open it through the Launcher.

Hope this helps.

I downloaded both stand alone clients (rs2 to test it out). The rs2 opens and runs, but the osrs won’t. I tried it on my Mac mini and MacBook. Both (Mac mini and MacBook) run rs2, but the osrs won’t run. The icon “jumps” once (to indicate it’s opening), but doesn’t open.

Did you upgrade the Java version on your Mac recently? The Mac version of the OS client uses the system's Java version, and there are known issues with using too new of a version. See below:

The recent java update last month kinda messed up a few things...gotta do a java rollback to make it work. Either it does nothing, or it tries to load the app and then instantly crashes....or makes the launcher throw an unknown error and have you close out of it.

jre-8u331 is a safe one to go back to that still works. sadly, little bit of messing around to do it; but, getting the older one from oracle, and then removing java to install the old one will do the trick.
