Hi again,

Sorry if I'm being a pain.

But I am still confused and need a few questions answering about my UIM account Exploro2 which was falsely banned.

If the thread wasn't locked I would have posted in it.

But these questions may help others in the RS community;

This will be my final post on the matter, I just need answers as I'm getting mixed messages from the community.

Perm ban - I read in one thread, that you do get the account back after time, can anyone confirm this?

If account is perm banned, never to return - why can I still log in and read messages, account status etc? Why is the account not disabled? - Is this because Jagex do allow them back after time passed?

If there is absolute no way of ever getting my account back - please could you post me in the right direction of having all my data removed from the said account, under GDPR. Thus so the email linked to my account can be used again, if I wish to create another UIM. Is there a forum area for such information?

Do I delete the account from authenticator and set up another? Any advice on how this is done?

Obviously I want my account back, I've never cheated. But it is what it is.

Thanks for any help/advice.

GDPR as a EU citizen and Jagex offering it's services to EU citizens;

*The organisation should also tell you about your rights, including your right to:

Request access to your data
Ask for your data to be corrected
Ask for your data to be erased
Ask for your data to be restricted
Object to your data being processed
Right to receive the data held in a form which allows it you to transfer it to another person
Withdraw consent if consent is the basis for your personal data being processed
Lodge a complaint

At present my current situation falls under "my data being corrected".

My account data that Jagex holds currently informs of botting. - This is NOT the case, it is incorrect data being stored about me.

Please could you point me into the right direction. Account help, many thanks.

This only applies to bans that are not considered serious, i.e., bans that are NOT listed below:

Account hijacking
Bug abuse
Real-world trading

Other manual permanent bans (fraud, community safety)


Furthermore, it's up to Jagex to decide what accounts stay banned or not. It's their prerogative to do so; however, it's paramount to mention that not every case is the same and there are circumstance that may determine Jagex's decision. In any case, if the ban is one from above, then the decision is final and the ban may not be appealed. Those accounts stay banned forever.

For example, I have seen cases where macroing and/or bots bans have been removed after several years because Jagex has given them a second chance to either appeal the ban or simply return to the game. A few years ago, players received Message Centre messages letting them know that their accounts were unbanned after several years. We do not know exactly why Jagex decided to do that, but I'm sure that they decided that those players deserved a second chance.

Again, every account and case is different and only Jagex knows why. Please note that those accounts that are given a second chance to return to the game were banned for offences that are NOT listed above. Those offences listed above -- which may be found here: Appeal an offence -- may NOT be appealed nor discussed anywhere, which is why your threads have been getting locked.

Some accounts, as said before, MAY be given a second chance to return, but ONLY if they have not been banned for the offences that have been listed. Jagex never deletes accounts, UNLESS you specifically ask them to by following the instructions presented here: Your personal data rights .

To have your account deleted, follow the steps here: Your personal data rights .

All in all, please remember this, as stated in the Terms & Conditions: the account you use to play RuneScape on is solely the property of Jagex and you are merely given the opportunity to play on it. You can, however, request that all the personal data included within be deleted.

Also, your comment about "data": "data" is this case refers to personal data , i.e., details and information that identifies you and that only pertains to you as a person, not "data" referring to bans. Just so you know.

IP address and Email comes under data and is subject to GDPR.

Right, and that falls under details and information that identifies you ;) . An IP address is used to identify your location and your email address is part of your personal details. Trust me, I know :P .

I just wanted to clarify that this "data' does not pertain to information regarding bans on the account, as you claimed below:

It does Anna because when I log into my account(data) on the site(Runescape) where my data exists - it is banned and states I've used a Macro. Which is false information(data) being stored on their site about me.

I have the right under GDPR to request to have this corrected. It's false data.

And if a ban is recorded on one's account(data) and it is false. Then under GDPR, one has the right to have this information = corrected.
A ban is not part of your personal data, as explicitly mentioned to you before. Following that route will not get you anywhere as you will be misusing the form. As said earlier, "data" refers to personal data and not information on bans on the account.

Here's the data that Jagex collects from players:
