Question:
Should the Corporeal Beast be introduced to Old School with its original drop tables? This will include the addition of the very rare Spirit Shields.

If the Corporeal Beast and its drops are introduced, should the Divine spirit shield's damage reduction effect be lowered to 25% from 30%?


Please, do this right! There is no compromise for replacing the Spirit Shields. Either players want Corporeal Beast, or they do not. So poll it together! Also, if question 1 passes then it still gives players a chance to re-work Divine, if necessary. If this is not polled as such... we are at high risk for a dead content Corporeal Beast.

I.E: NO DROP TABLE! WASTED DEV TIME!

I like all this.
Though I would suggest they change the poll questions for spirit shields:
1) should the spirit shields be added with the original version divine?
2) should the spirit shields be added, but with the 25% divine?
If neither get 75%, no shields. If both do, the one with more votes wins.
Because some may not want the shields at all unless the nerfed divine happens. The way it's worded now, you could vote for shields and for the nerf, and then the nerf loses, but shields get in with no nerf. There's no way to vote against the "non-nerfed" shields specifically.

Also, I think that iron man should be allowed NMZ, but not as a guest in someone else's rumble. IE not allowed to do "rumble noob" unless their account is the rumble noob.

I very much disagree. If corp is in with no shields, that's ok for now. There's no reason that they couldn't propose some totally new powerful drops to give to the corp beast in a later update.

I say add the corp now and if it becomes dead because the drops stink, then poll other options for better drops later. Better than not having corp if you ask me. Heck at least u could get the corp pet. Wewt.

Your opinion is respectful, but I'd disagree. With good reason too. That being that Jagex offered the players a chance to do this! They asked for players to take off to the threads with their own suggestions. What became of it was a mess. Sigil swords making God Swords look outdated. Armor pieces that had no relevance or value to the game. Spells, even though Jagex is highly debating a PDC for these.

This was a disaster and Jagex took the best route for the community. By offering us Spirit Shields. Also, these are professional developers as much as they are players of the games themselves. They know what is best and have offered it.

Adding a dead content Corporeal Beast now would be an utter shame. It would also be an example that we are willing to settle for the worse. The game needs a future and Reach has discussed it. Elite PvM. Shields will not be overpowered once this is introduced. The new drop tables will only become better and give us new places to go in the game.

This is what the game needs.

Also, the OS-Staff addressed live at the Q&A that they are done being pushed to develop pets for every boss. They also stated they would rather make the pet the Dark Core, rather than the beast itself. They will poll if players want future pets, but deem it a waste of time and not special if every boss drops them...

I agree with their direction on the matter.

I don't know how technically feasible this would be, but I feel an iron man account should have all bosses
instanced
upon entrance. This would protect both iron man and non-iron man accounts from effecting one another in any way and would allow for a clean implementation of the 100% damage rule.

As for the
ultimate
variant of the iron man mode, I feel the rules are a bit wonky. I suggest:

1. Players can use the bank; however, on death all items are lost (banked or not).
2. Level downs in the form of experience decay (based on skill inactivity) and additional experience loss on death.
3. Players can use teleports normally. I do not feel that restricting teleportation adds challenge, merely game hours as walking from point A to B doesn't require skill, just time.
4. Yearly resets (like ladders). Players in this mode at the end of a season would be awarded and then downgraded to standard iron man accounts.

While I feel the above is by no means a comprehensive list and can be improved upon, it is a better starting place than the rules suggested and would create a highly competitive ladder. Feel free to critique :)

Thanks for making Corp dead content. No way this will gather 75% support. You didn't use this tactic for polling Godwars/godswords. Godswords would of never gained 75% support if polled separately like you're doing with spirit shields.

Corp needs to be polled like Godwars was for the Original corp + drops as one question.

I only came back to OSRS for Corp, Now it seems its gonna be dead content. Also gf October 11th release.

Hopefully the team reconsiders polling Corp in its original form...

Agreed. The questions will just split the votes up and the poll will eventually just fail. As soon as i read the questions, I was disappointed on how they plan to release the poll questions. Fix or Corp poll fails...

Please osrs team, fix the poll itself before you poll any new big update. Our new in-game updates are being turned down by the minority of the community. We are in desperate need of updates as you know. Iron Man mode to me is a waste of time, focus on one update at a time before you branch off to another. Nothing is being passed and instead of trying to figure out why, you're moving on without looking back. For BH, focus on tweaks to the rewards or add new rewards altogether. The wilderness has had so much rework done to it and has become almost dead content. A big chunk of the osrs community is under 60 defense and because the update will be not be benefiting them the update is decline. I do not want the developers to waste their time on new content, when we cannot get anything that beneficial to pass today. Please let us make profit from pking once again and bring the community as a whole back into the wild. The 70% of the community is being outweighed by the other 30%. 30% is not the majority, with lowering the poll this game will begin to grow as it did before. Someone please read this to spread feedback, thank you.
