I voted no to Dragon Defender, simply because I don't think this is a good way to introduce it. Perhaps a bit selfish, but I don't want useful items like that to come from dangerous PvP activities.
Good job mate! *internet high five*
Nice ad hominem, mate. To me, D-Defender (or a token to access it) coming from PVP is a very negative thing. And implementing new things is never only black and white, saying one thing is bad and another is good, the game is played by many people and everyone has their own, unique opinion.
Having a perfectly valid opinion on a controversial matter doesn't make anyone stupid. Insulting others over their opinion, however... well, shouldn't be tolerated.
(Mods, do your work for once.)
What is the difference between an item coming from a quest or PvM monsters? There is none. You just have some butthurt issue with PvP so you feel the need to complain about silly things that don't negatively impact you. It's not like you HAVE to kill people in the wilderness to obtain the dragon spike, you can simply buy it off of a player and unlock the location forever.
My point was completely valid and it still stands that you're an absolute idiot.
If you spent 2 seconds and actually read the developer's blog then you'd read that every thing in the shop will be tradeable for you to purchase off of players, rather than taking part in PvP.

You only have 10 minutes access to the room. Did you miss that part wise ass?

That's relevant to the spike being tradeable how?...If anything that just keeps the gold sink from the game at a consistent rate which in turn stabilizes the economy. It's a win-win across the board. It's not like you'd have to get 10 defenders a day or anything. It's a piece of content that you do for a portion of time and generally never go back to unless you lose untradeables often.

The difference is night and day. I don't like doing quests for items either, but that's always been the case for some items and I can't see a change in that. Besides once you have done the quest, you don't have to redo it for the item(s) in case you lose them.
Barbarian assault and Pest control both suck, I hated doing them for torso and void. And since I think RS PvP is dog poo on a good day, I can't imagine enjoying doing it much at all. The price in GP for a spike is going to be ludicrous for a long time, as every single player with 60 def will want one, but only a fraction of the community is the "pvp community" that will be the main providers of them.
I wouldn't mind if they put a shop in the Warrior's guild that sold dragon defenders for 1m+rune defender. I wouldn't mind if they gave access to the "berserk cyclops" for a monetary cost (another real money sink). I do mind that it's coming from the activity I have no interest in doing, in fact I'd rather eat donkey turds and down them with bleach than play RS PVP.

Hmmmm, I think the dragon defender will devalue DFS, was it really neccesary? :X
I like the Sara's tear though!
We have to stop denying content because it may devalue "old content." If we are too afraid to bring a future to the game then we do not deserve one. I would love to start adding more med, high and even elite level content to all of our skills and PvM.
No, my point is Rune defender is good enough and has its place as it is, it also, as it should do keep the value of DFS high which is where it should be. there is absoloutely no solid reason why a dragon defender should be released unless you specifically wanted to devalue DFS and unnecessarily make defenders significantly better (which is not the case)
The aim of these updates is to improve items without devaluing old, there is no ultimatum that 'we must devalue old indirectly for new content' because it does not have to be that way at all. There is a work around for every update to not devalue old.

I'm relieved to see the reward shop is passing comfortably but am disappointed most of the rewards are failing. Stuff like clue box failing is ridiculous, seems like people want PVP to have no rewards.
