so if doctors didnt get paid what they get paid do you think they would continue doing their job just because they like helping people? no the majority wouldn't.
I am saying rares are status symbols
With a rare you cannot get lucky one day and get one it takes work. It drives people to play.

In western society we are driven to acquire material things, and we are constantly trying to out do one other with our items. With bigger cars, houses, more expensive engagement rings ect.

Same goes for this game. The vast majority of players playing this game wants to be rich. They want those 99 stats. subconsciously we are all trying to out do one another. Who doesn't want to be the best?

I'm very excited for the massive Slayer Upgrades! They look very promising and I will definitely enjoy the Slayer skill much more with these updates for the Slayer Helm and Points system.

I'm excited to see the Christmas 2006 Holiday Event, I think it was the correct choice for this game to release it rather than something else. I'm not too sure if I like the idea of a Rainbow Partyhat, yet. I'd like to see each player get a whole set or two as a reward rather than anything else. Black Santa Hats...eh, I don't want this game to seem too customized, I'd rather stick to the standard red.

Maybe we could see something with Good vs. Evil in this Holiday Event. With the Rainbow Partyhat being Good, and the Black Partyhat (Santa Hat?) being if you choose to side with evil. I think this could offer an interesting experience and being able to offer players the choice of switching sides allows a more interactive perspective to the event.

If party hats become rares again, make them all non-tradeable. Too many people would quit if the osrs economy is driven by stupid prices of items that do absolutely nothing. People keep saying that they should be status items for people who played a long time, so they can't complain if they're non-tradeable because that way nobody would be able to buy their status and it would keep kids from being selfish now to benefit them in the future.
(I'm only half serious about this. Mainly said it to hush up kids who are trying to lie through their teeth about why they want party hats to become rare again..)


My personal opinion is that we should get 2 sets each like we did for the halloween event to make up for the fact that hundreds of sets will be destroyed for rainbow party hats and the loss of those sets will make the prices go up if new ones aren't added. Even just 1 set each would be good enough, really. Not too hard to rearrange bank really..

My opinion on the partyhats, I only have 1 because its my favorite color, but a rainbow one sounds cool.

Rares should have a chance to become rare and be common for the loyal people of old school runescape, so 3 years down the line rares should not be reintroduced.
dude you are soo right, people should get the chanse of getting them now, but there is absolutely no point of giving them each year, for example 2 years from now, jagex should say, this is the last year we will be dropping, or giving phats etc away for free, but be carefull next years we wont be giving them away anymore, cuz otherwise there is just no point. and also evry1 that is playing now , can easily get a few phat sets and other rares, then new players in like 2 years, will just have to work a litle for these epic items , comon its rs not bsale for junk


If you are releasing each year it just makes them pointless bank space and give no stats.

Maybe do another poll on how players want rares to be done now that we are farther into the game.

giving partyhats each year has no point whatsoever,

you can give everyone that plays now 2 sets, but count this as the last year,

then evryone who playes now, we are the actual community, has the chanse to get even 5 phat sets or more, even the biggest poorest noob,

then its fair, theres no point giving these phats 3 years from now.

whats the point of them otherwise?

for the xmas event,

- The rainbow phat is a good idea, but make it untradeble.

- the black santa hat isnt good, its more for halloween,
make a white santa hat, thats much cooler, or blue whatever.

- make a black phat tho, the legend from the black phat comes alive, this would be cool.

- give evryone, 2 phat sets, for the last time, no point giving them each year , 3 years from now.....

- give all xmas related, untradeble items, such as hats, scarfs etc,

- give santa hat.

- 2006 event, is cool if you could let us do a snowball fight!!
